Dark Brick Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Hi all- I was just wondering if any members of Eurobricks will be attending the First Annual Brickworld in Chicago, IL USA? I know of at least two members who are from the Chicago area(hinckley39, I am looking at you). So my next question is are you exhibiting or just going on one of the public days(Saturday/Sunday)? Finally, if you are attending, would you be interested in meeting up, I am sure we can all get along and then maybe hit the LEGO store at the Mall and have lunch. Let me know, PM me if the need be. Many of our European LEGO brothers and sisters have met for various events and everything seems to workout for them. Oh yeah, here is the link to the Brickworld Website. DB Quote

DB I am going tomorrow (Friday) for Joe Meno's presentation and then for the public exhibition on saturday. I'm not sure when. Unfortunately, I'm closing a show this weekend so I'm not as available as I'd hoped I'd be... Quote

xwingyoda Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Guys, since this is not an EB event, I shall move this to community ;-) *yoda* Quote
Brick Miner Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 ok, this sounds like a lot of fun... can you give us a report after the show, hinckley (dark brick ???) ??? - BrickMiner Quote
Hinckley Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Quick update from the show! I had to run in and out in only 2 hours today because I had some work calls at the last minute and a very busy traffic day as the Cubs were playing the Sox. Here is a quick update: Brickworld 2007 By the way, I heard a LEGO rep (I think) talking to kids about "technique" bricks and I was confused until I realized he meant "Technic". What's the official pronunciation?: "Technique" or "Tek-Nick" like technical without the "al"? (I may need to start a poll...) EDIT: some teaser pics from the show new custom animal figs from BrickForge.com I love this guy's work. Very cool. working fountain! Full gallery with full size pics Quote
Stauder Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Gallery = 404 Not found... :'-( But the preview looks awsome! Quote

Starwars4J Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Wait...so Brickforge is gonna start doing animals now? That's...weird *wacko* The dragon disappoints me though, it's just a blue hungarian horntail. And the others...meh, I just prefer brick-built animals. I'd rather see them concentrate on accessories for figs... Also: This really sucks And it sucks because it's so good (better than the first time I saw this technique used} that I might just have to rework what I have of my keep...but HOW will I do that? Honestly, I think with the design I'm using it just isn't possible :'( God that's awesome. I had to run and share it with classic-castle, as I don't believe you're a member. If you are just make a new topic though and I'll have mine closed :-) I just know they'd love that thing. Thanks for all the pics, Hinckley! Quote

Also:This really sucks What what what? And it sucks because it's so good Oh! I see. You had me going there for a second. I almost had to boo you. But I won't now. (better than the first time I saw this technique used} that I might just have to rework what I have of my keep...but HOW will I do that? Honestly, I think with the design I'm using it just isn't possible :'( God that's awesome. Agreed. I considered trying to pocket it, but somehow I thought I would be caught... ( ;-) because it's bigger than my pocket...and my body...get it? It's a joke.) I had to run and share it with classic-castle, as I don't believe you're a member. Armothe Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Actually I thin the dragon is Saphira, you know from Eragon? The fig makes me think that... Bingo. The Dragon and Rider is Saphira and Eragon from the movie (book) Eragon. It's a custom. BrickForge is not producing a dragon. We are making Moo, Oink & Baaa. We'll have official pictures on our website soon :) -A Quote

Hinckley Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 I added a ton more pics. Had a long day as a semi jack-knifed on the toll road to the hotel and I sat in traffic for 30 minutes and went about 3 miles before finally leaving the road and finding another way there. An hour and a half trip turned into a three hour trip. But, it totally worked out because when I got there they were just closing the exhibition hall to the public and the awards ceremony was being held in another room. Since I was fully registered I got to stay in the exhibition room where I was one of the only people for over an hour and got to photograph uninterrupted the entire time! The lights were low, though, so some of the pics are poor quality. I plan to color correct and brighten soon, but for now enjoy... lots more pics of BrickWorld 2007 More cool stuff from Brickforge.com MOC it better! Ingenious Star Wars train... Jurassic Park! minifig splat! Full Gallery Quote
Quarryman Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Thanks a lot for all those nice pics :-) Not sure if I have any favourites yet, too much good stuff ;-) Quote

Starwars4J Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Don't mean to necrobump, but with the latest Brickforge e-mail, it seems you've gotten quite a bit of advertisement! Your pictures are featured on the main page, as well as links to your site. X-D Quote
