Grrr silly Lego and their obsession with US only promos. Just kidding I think it's great dea as long as the sets they give away are of a good quality (or at least come with a decent or perhaps exlcusive mini fig like a new Jedi sculpt). Still theres always Bricklink/eBay for those desperate for the sets. Time will tell as to how good the sets are, if they are of a similair style to the current batch of free sets then I for one am not too bothered about missing out on them.

As for chocolate a big bar of Galaxy is easily a slice of heaven. For thsoe not in the know Galaxy is produced by the Mars company, a US operation, so indeed the US does have good chocolate or at least in my eyes it does.

Not my favorite option, but I have seriously considered it. The US of A however doesn't know how to make good chocolate. I was in San Diego for three months (RADAR course for the Australian Navy) and I was hanging out for decent chocolate the entire time. I would need to find a cheap way to import it from elsewhere first; not much point moving to save money on Lego if I then spend more money on chocolate!

Down where I live (In Oregon/US) we have See's Candy and Euphoria chocolates. You can get pure chocolate in bulk from both of them, but they can be rather expensive.

let's stick to topic shall we? ;-) this talk about chocolate is futile anyway. we all know the best chocolate is belgian...same with beer. ;-)

I have to agree with natelite. Several years ago I had the pleasure of eating a bar of Belgian chocolate. It was the creamiest, most delectable stuff I'd ever had at the time, and so far I've yet to come across a tastier bar of chocolate. I still regret that I didn't get the brand name.

In case you don't know, the Mars company was founded by the son of Nestle's founder. He did it with only 10,000 dollars. I know this since I watched a 2 hour show about chocolate on the History channel.

I can't believe it! I just figured out how to post. YESSS! *sweet*

Unfortuantly I have never heard of it; the name makes sense considering the company. According to Wikipedia...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galaxy_(candy)

...it is the same as "Dove" in Australia, which I don't like. However, I wish that I found it when I was in the US as it would have been better than Hershey bars.

I will have to try and find one of those stores... if I ever go back the the US!

I have only had Belgian specialty chocoate which, while expensive and small, was good.

No, I didn't know that. (I looked it up and I couldn't confirm that. I will have to look into it later.)

A little Off Topic Chocolate post here guys and gals !!

Do not confuse candy chocolate (all these crappy chocolate bars that taste everything except chocolate mind you !!) with real "Gourmet" chocolate !! (its exactly the same difference as veal and poultry with Beef and Horse!! White meat is NOT red meat !! - see the analogy here !!)

Go and taste French Gourmet chocolate and you will see what I mean !! And I'm ONLY talking about 2 places in Paris (and NO more): Jean-Paul H

On topic, I have a question about Brickmaster: Does Lego let you tell them what theme or what sets you don't want? I mean for the bi-monthly new set. Can you say, 'I don't want this theme, but I want this theme'? I mean, can you at least say you don't want any girls stuff?

No you can't. I think in the past, they randomly chose the sets for you too (eg, someone would get the exoforce set and another may get the dino attack). So it's quite possible that even if you subscribed you may not get the sets you want. I hope they won't do that going forward because SW, city (and I am speculating here, IJ and new castle) sets/mfs are more valuable that others. I would be pissed if I didn't get a SW set.

How odd, I always thought that every subscriber got the same sets !! That old system is retarded !!

Yeay, lets have a crappy Exo set instead of a brilliant SW one :-D

*yoda*

I got an idea

lets have one member subscribe and get all those exclusive sets

Then tell us what they are so we don't waste our own money :-D

Besides I am not going to spend 39.99 just for some sets that have exclusive figs or whatever

I can wait until they come out(maybe)

EDIT:Darn, idea has already been said X-O

first of all, good chocolate is not mass produced...

As far as the US promotions go, has anyone asked the ambassadors about this? (EDIT: Someone has) I think hewkii9 said it best when he said "Let's just all give America more stuff while ignoring Canada and Europe, not to mention Central and South America, Asia, Antarctica, Australia, Oceania, and other planets." They are especially neglectful of the people of Neptune.

I think what's going to be interesting is how many people get two or three subscriptions just to get multiple copies of the sets to sell for a ridiculously high price on eBay or Bricklink.

On the other hand, this is the only reason I would sign up for Brickmaster again. I think a 9 year old feels talked down to by brickmaster, let alone me, a 30 year old. I felt like I wasted money, not to mention that the sets they sent were all polybags. Boo! I boo the silly poly bag sets. The CDs were a little ridiculous, from the vaults and exclusive instructions (for an octopus? come on...) I boo the octupus too. BOO! I will be signing up for this but am very curious as to why those in other countries don't get it...

Given that the July date given in the first post's quote is rapidly approaching, do we have any more information on this "new" Brickmaster? The Brickmaster blurb in the latest catalog appears to be the same it's always been, and the Brickmaster website isn't much different: it even still lists the Vault CDs as part of the package. If there is indeed a newly adjusted roll-out of the subscription, where can more information be gleaned?

Well, as far as I know, it has to be early or late 2008, only because it mentions unique Indiana Jones sets and they come out with the movie which isn't even out yet, so it's probably coming some time next year, to be sure.
