The sea fiend's fate was almost within grip. The Magpie sailed out into the setting sun. Clouds swept together overhead, casting a dim shadow over the ship, its crew, and the party. Captain Illdria ascended the steps to the helm, and sailed off south: towards the monster's preferred hunting ground. A strange assortment of people milled around the ship. Her crew appeared even more ragtag than the party. "It won't be long before we arrive. This is going to be a tough fight. I recommend getting as ready as possible. We only get one shot at this. If you want to say any last- I mean, if you want to chat, we've got nothing better to do." It leers over the ship, but Illdria leads a vicious attack on its body, she and Reg leading the way with Actaeon providing covering fire (and then some) and leaving the body bloodied, scales getting dislodged and its seaweed cloak tearing in a hundred different places. Their attack is punctuated with the explosion of the Magpie's cannons. The old harpoon the party recognizes as the one the dying man mentioned proves to be a valuable weak spot. The body slams against the ship, and Red falls to his knees. Briar nervously raises his shield in time to avoid what could've been a fatal blow, and Kiray lobs a deadly fire bomb from behind it, razing the beast save for its armored, rocky body. Mizuki and Francis keep the head busy, while Lane fires a single shot that pierces Kjorfalneire's fin. The monster lashes out against the Magpie and its captain, some planks creaking and the ship tipping sideways even as rain pours down on the heroes. The dwarf manning the cannons quickly runs to the upper deck, taking control of a swivel gun and firing back at the fin. Kjorfalneire roars in ferocity. Francis is backing up onto the upper deck to line up a shot.
