"A family friend taught me most of the basics and everything I know so far about a year and a half ago. My mother was killed, though it seemed more like an execution, two years ago. So he taught me how to fight, hopefully to get back at whoever murdered my mother." Kiray thought about how easily it had come out. She barely knew this man, but he was in the same organization as Diana, who she had grown close to over her most recent quest. "So now I'm in Eubric trying to become better and find who killed my mother. Maybe someday I'll find out, maybe I won't." Kiray paused a moment, "As for us Heroes, it's just a job, I guess. We're glorified mercenaries, be that good or bad. I guess I've just picked up some leadership traits from the man who taught me. He was... commanding. Not in a bad way, mind you. Indeed...it seems disputes will always crop up, no matter how similar you are. I might be part of the Wolfgang but I don't agree with much of what we've done in the past. I did some questionable things to earn a living, and I regret none of it, but we've all come far from another criminal faction." "Nowhere specifically, I wasn't born in Eubric" Kiray answered. She barely knew this man, but he was in the same organization as Diana, who she had grown close to over her most recent quest. Lot of what he did doesn't fly with Ulric anymore. Many people would call us criminals. Might be right. But we can't let anyone sit back and have the reigns over what everyone does. We'd make fools out of the Houses, steal from the rich, give to the poor. Even shook down this little mudhole of a city down in the sewers. "Maybe they take better care of the poor than the Houses, but to get what they want they'd be more than happy to kill plenty of good people that happen to be in their way. To the west, east, south? Beggars, hunting crumbs. The Locale looked north, 'twas the bird of this nest. A hulking ogre in makeshift armor lined with what looked like feathers and the head of an aepyornis on his head leered down at the party as they approached. "No costume, no entry." Quote
