I bought the digital version as i really like thier mocs. It is ok. An advanced builder won't get a lot from it but for a newb like me it is a great reference piece for different facades and interior techniques.

Thanks for the answer, Wookie. I guess I'll have to wait a little bit more, I want the printed version.

Yes, I've just come back from my looong dark ages period and I'm amazed how much Lego has changed since I was a kid. Nowadays there are so many new possibilities and different building techniques that I'm a bit overwhelmed to have such a long range of options and pieces to choose from. Also overwhelmed for the money, it's so expensive these days... :)

I had no idea a digital version was available. Can you let me know where you got one? Amazon only has a printed one, and I'd prefer a digital version, as it takes less space on my already too ful bookshelves.

I know the feeling, only really got back into Lego myself at the beginning of the year, and even though I've come leaps and bounds in terms of train design, I still have no idea where to start when it comes to buildings, their contents and scenery. May have to find this book myself.

Thanks, Eurotrash. I'll probably go for an ebook.

It's available from here http://www.nostarch....egoneighborhood $15.95 for eBook

Finnbricker, welcome to Europe. This long shipping times are a common problem, although they're sometimes there just as a backup and orders arrive earlier. As for me, getting an ebook is a nice way to avoid shipping costs and delays.

Mine shipped today from Amazon.com to Finland. But expected delivery date is Nov 6. How can it take 34 days for a book to reach Europe? By steamship? :)

I know it varies by country ,but it's only 12.07 at Amazon right now, and prime eligible... I like the idea of e-books, but refuse to pay the same (or more!) For an e-book when it costs them so much less to make, and lose your resale rights (and largely your lending rights) at the same time.

I received mine yesterday and really like it I love the modulars and have all of them but most my MOC has been castle builds. I am interested in doing some WW2 military MOCs so I feel this book is a great source to building a few city scapes

I just bought ebook from the No Starch Press, and I'm having problems viewing it. A pdf, mobi and epub formats are available, and I can only open the pdf. I can't load the epub to my ereader, although in Caliber it says the book is on the device. Is anyone else having a similar problem? I tried the same with mobi, and the problem is the same. Can't see it on my Kindle, but the Caliber says it's there. :sceptic:

I scrolled through the pdf, and got some pretty nice ideas about building facade details. I'm really looking forward utilizing some of the presented techniques.

Does anyone know if there is an actual usable parts list anywhere for the Drug Store project that the book has instructions for? ideally maybe a Bricklink compatible parts list? The downloadable parts list from the site is just a picture of the parts ala back of lego instructions, and doesn't have any usable part numbers etc.

EDIT; Nevermind I found them. For those that need them, ignore the URL in the book that just leads to NoStarchPress and the PDF's. The actual useful XML files are over at https://www.brickcitydepot.com/books

I don't know how it is in your country, but all five times I ordered from Amazon, they stated "up to 30 days", and all were delivered within 10 days to The Netherlands.

This book is really great for someone who wants to start building MOC's. It has some interesting furniture and building ideas.

I ordered my book about three weeks ago and it was also delivered in 7 days. The place I ordered is a Dutch webshop named bol.com.
