Chapachuk Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 (edited) After few month i finished my largest Model Team creation so far. As i am not very good with technic bricks, this is one of a kind, special edition, only rear wheel drive Land Rover :) Its motorized, working steering and lights, but cause of the weight i didnt connect IR receiver and cables, but its ready to do that. Weight with batteries is over 5000g so it hardly stands on wheels, for that reason there are 16 shocks absorbers, 8 didnt hold the vehicle up. Weight: 5000g Lenght: 553 mm, 70 studs Wide: 264 mm, 34 studs (including mirrors) Height: 260 mm, 33 studs Stickers are temporary, must find better font. More photos and details. https://www.flickr.c...th/15182048387/ A small vignette with the car: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=100720 Edited September 28, 2014 by Chapachuk Quote
MrNumbskull13 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Instantly recognisable as a land rover! Great details, great work! Quote
efferman Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 wow! i have only one critique: the mudguards dont cover the wheels Quote
Nalyd997 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Dude this is bloody awesome! I have an extreme love for Land Rovers, with them being the family car for years. Great work!!! Quote
miguev Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Love it! Never seen so many hard-spring shock absorber per wheel, can we see a video of this beauty in action? Quote
Boulderer Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Fantastic attention to detail and you've got the looks spot on. As commented above, the only critique would be the wheels extending beyond the arches. Quote
Cumulonimbus Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 That is a fantastic MOC! My father had one for years and I recognise all the details instantly, you got the interior spot on. Maybe one point of improvement: the exterior shape is a bit too square an boxy. The real LR3 has some slightly angled surfaces on the "glass house" (the upper part with all the windows) and the nose. I'm sure this should be possible at this scale. Nice work! Quote
PROlego Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Looks good. Maybe the only wrong thing with it is that I think you could make it lighter and the mudguards. Quote
Chapachuk Posted September 28, 2014 Author Posted September 28, 2014 Yes, i agree, wheels should be under the mudguards. In first place i build with the tyres of 9398 (I buyed wheels of Unimog later). Plan was to build an aftermarket big raw offroader, then i was hooked up with all the details that this car have in original look. I know all of u, who had this car, knows how much intentiton was in this build. Iam very satisfied with interior and cockpit (i just love cupholders :). So theres a lack of proportion on a body, it could be done better, ive had some more ideas, but went out of brick, mostly hinges and tiles to make more round car like original. In a moments it looks like a previous model. Maybe some other time. There wont be a video, cause it wont move well, just too heavy. Its more of a display car. But i will try when i get Sbrick. I added shock absorbers cause it colappse with only eight. And it wasnt nearly close finished. It hardly stands now. Quote
BusterHaus Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Great details on this beast. Things like thee gas tank access door, the centre console and glove box that open really make this model stand out. How long did it take you to build it? Quote
Chapachuk Posted September 28, 2014 Author Posted September 28, 2014 Few months, most of it i waited for the small BL orders. I could say three full weekends? A lot of this time was looking and thinking :) I know i made about seven different front lights, that take me about whole afternoon. Quote
zenzic Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Awesome moc! I envy the amount of tiles you own. Has it been a costly project? How much pieces in total? Does the bike actually fit on the tow hook carrier? Quote
grum64 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Fantastic build. Instantly recognisable. Great work Quote
Chapachuk Posted September 28, 2014 Author Posted September 28, 2014 @zenzic; i had most of bricks, but i had to order many small orders to complete creatios. I will count the pieces when i disassemble it. The bike is just a mod of original lego set, its a bit big for the Land Rover. But it fits on the back, see Flickr. Quote
imvanya Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 This is really good, like, REALLY good. Quote
zux Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 (edited) Wow, nice Disco! At the moment I looked at the pictures I thought "what a nice little Land Rover". That was untill realized those are unimog tires and not cheese slopes above them! Edited September 28, 2014 by zux Quote

Awaken_M1nd Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Cool model! Weighted contribution to piggy bank of Model Team Quote
Mikuri Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Wowowowow :O Not a big fan of the mudguards but omg, everything else is perfect :D 8 suspensions springs... lol Quote
Off the wall Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Outstanding! But, I have the same suggestion that I always have when I see a Land Rover MOC. It needs some puddles of leaking fluid underneath it and a matching MOC tow truck. Quote
timslegos Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Nice attention to detail! Its too bad that it is so heavy, I would love to see it driving. tim Quote
Chapachuk Posted September 28, 2014 Author Posted September 28, 2014 @off the wall; Thanks for idea for the next moc :) Quote
