jamie75 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 (edited) When I heard the new Rebels show was going to have the Imperial Troop Transport in it. The kid who grew up in the 70's came out. I thought, great, this is an awesome opportunity for Lego to make one. Than I saw pics of it, I had hoped it would be treated as a full fledged set, not a battle pack. So, I figured, no problem, I'll would make my own. After playing with LDD for while, this is what I came up with: Not being completely happy with, I expanded on the idea of making it, not only a transport, but, a battle station as well: All 6 troop compartments fold down. The back pulls out, complete with holding cell for those pesky Rebels! I also included a tool rack that slides into the transport, between the pilot and navigator. Between the troops, there are weapons, so they can be let out of their compartments, grab there gear and engage the enemy. The front opens to provide cover for them. The model is comprised of 761 pieces and holds 9 troops, a pilot, a navigator, a weapons specialist, and 6 Stormtroopers. After doing this model, I started making alot of other Kenner models from the 80's. More to come................. Jamie Edited September 28, 2014 by jamie75 Quote
The Executive Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 This looks great! I like the cage. Yeah Lego should have made the ITT a larger sized battle pack or maybe a $30 set. Quote
Fuppylodders Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 This is how id imagine the set to be if it wasnt done as a bp. I like that it had quite a few playable features and opens right up, while folding neatly together. Great job! Quote
HJR-Holland Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 (edited) Nice build; I really like what you did to the interior Edited September 29, 2014 by HJR-Holland Quote
jamie75 Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 Thanks guys!! The .lxf file is in my brickshelf folder, if anyone wants to build it. Thanks again, Jamie Quote
Robianco Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Well this may just be the first lxf file I download to build. I love this vehicle... always have. I really like how this has been expanded to contain the holding cell etc and can be simply closed up. I also like that it has the figure carrier still on the side as that's just an important part of the ITT for me... however dangerous it is for Stormtroopers! Quote
jamie75 Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Post pics of it and let me know how the build was!! I plan on building it in time, but, the key work is time. Well, time and money, 2 words!! Glad you like it, Jamie Quote
HJR-Holland Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Just went to your brickshelf page, and there are various nice vehicles there; why don't you put them on Flickr? Quote
jamie75 Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Flickr always bogs down my computer. Takes forever for things to load and scroll through. Jamie Quote
ETAV8R Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Very cool. I still have the actual toy version. Quote
Mr Man Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Fantastic job, I think I have the original hanging around somewhere. Quote
