clm Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I apologize for the bump of this topic but I am inquiring if anyone has access to the missing sail scans. Some of the library contents seems to have indefinitely checked out ;) I am almost done bricklinking the classic ships and the scans would be helpful. Chris Quote
Jolly Rodger 27 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Seconded, I have made 12 sails and am ready to print, but no scans of the 6286 and her sails are looking very sad.. :( Quote
Israel Hands Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I've just uploaded my sails Missing Skull's Eye Schooner (6268- 6286) http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/june-bug/Sails/sailbb15.png http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/june-bug/Sails/sailbb06.png http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/june-bug/Sails/sailbb07.png http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/june-bug/Sails/sailbb31.png Missing Black Seas Barracuda (6285 - 10040) http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/june-bug/Sails/sailbb23.png If someone wants to repair the original set of links using my pictures or start a new thread, please do so Quote
Jolly Rodger 27 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 MANY thanks, this is why I love collecting classics. I hope I can do my part in the future. Quote
clm Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Thank you greatly for those Israel Hands :) Chris Quote
Jasperjip Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Can anybody re-upload the caribean clipper (6274) sails because I can't open them? Quote
Israel Hands Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Caribbean Clipper 6274 sails, scanned, cleaned in Photoshop and uploaded. Let me know if you think the blue is too light, it's set to my printer. I'll darken if needed http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/june-bug/Sails/cc_-_fore_sail.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/june-bug/Sails/cc_-_lower_main_sail.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/june-bug/Sails/cc_-_upper_main_sail.jpg They should print out at 100%. To confirm sizes, these are the dimensions of the sails from each of the punch out holes. That is, it's not the true size of the sail, it's just how far apart the holes are Distance of punch out holes Fore sail: 10.1 x 16 cm Top sail: 20.8 x 12.7 Lower sail: 23.4 x 10.5 cm Quote
Jasperjip Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Great, thanks!! But how do you get those sails on the right (original) scale? Quote
Sigolf Brimabane Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 What is the best way to make these sails? I started a project today, and would like to use some of these old sails... Will they look good on regular paper? It is too expensive to buy the original sails. Quote
Israel Hands Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=87124&st=0 Have a read. There's two different techniques listed. Mine was to print on artists canvas. Quote
Sigolf Brimabane Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Hmm... Would it be possible to commission someone here to make replicas of the sails for the BSB? Originals are hard to come by. I don't feel confident enough to make my own xD I might make a try first though. Quote
preroller Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 anyone have any working links for the BSB sails, I found the front one, but missing the larger 2 sail links. Quote
preroller Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 anyone have any working links for the BSB sails, I found the front one, but missing the larger 2 sail links. I just made my own customs...nevermind. MOC coming shortly ;) Quote

sk_bricks Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I've just uploaded my sails Missing Skull's Eye Schooner (6268- 6286) http://www.brickshel...ls/sailbb15.png http://www.brickshel...ls/sailbb06.png http://www.brickshel...ls/sailbb07.png http://www.brickshel...ls/sailbb31.png Awesome! I am about to rebuild my SES so these will come in handy. Do you know what size they need to be? Will these work if I print as is? Quote
Rospokadu Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I used Israel Hands images to create these SES Sails No lego logo on them, only on the central sail Print as is, the size is the actual sail size http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Rospokadu/Sails/vela_baixa.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Rospokadu/Sails/vela_cima.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Rospokadu/Sails/vela_lado.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Rospokadu/Sails/vela_meio.jpg Quote
Ash1991 Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Hi all, Ash here, I have just taken my Queen Annes Revenge (4195)out of storage and the sails are tattered. Can anyone help me out with the links to the scanned images of the sails. I would like to have a go at recreating them. Thanks a lot Quote
brenTRON Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 (edited) I just want to thank everyone who has contributed to this. I looked everywhere for the imperial trading post set. I was happy to find them here. Though I did notice they don't seem to be 1:1. I had to optomize them for printing anyways, so while I did that I also rescaled them to the correct size and then I also got rid of the tan color, because presumably you will be printing on fabric that is already the tan color. I also created a crisp vectorized version of the logo on the sail as well as the red stripes on the white sail. I figure I'd post my version of the sails here for everyone to use. Here is the link since the file was too large to upload. Print these on 8.5x11 at 100% scale: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TODRD_hlCQEPlvp2aCKBcluZQZWEPbZn/view?usp=sharing Oh and one item to note is that the holes are slightly smaller than the actual holes. I did this so that the lines would be trimmed out of the sail. The correct size you should cut the holes to is 5mm. Edited February 21, 2018 by brenTRON Quote
SkaMasta097 Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 (edited) Hello everyone, I have been lurking Eurobricks for a while now and decided to join. I apologize in advance if necro-bumping threads is discouraged. Thank you all for contributing these wonderful sail patterns! Pirates has always been my favorite LEGO theme and it's good to have these scans in case someone buys a used ship with missing or tattered sails that need to be replaced. I have the square sails for 6274 Caribbean Clipper and the jib for 6271 Imperial Flagship and can upload them later. Edited December 26, 2018 by SkaMasta097 Quote
Lasivian Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 Hello Ska. While I agre this is a "necro" thread, it is also a library thread. I for one would be happy if you uploaded more sails! Thanks! Quote

seejay Posted November 14, 2021 Posted November 14, 2021 Thanks for this! I had most of Black Seas Barracuda in a haul I bought a few years ago, and it has been just waiting in a box for my little one to get interested in it, which he finally did! Unfortunately we only had 1 of the 5 sails, but it was a fun project for us to use these scans to make them out of paper. Quote
