power1369 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 People spend hundreds of dollars on bricks, motors, etc for models and then do not want to pay what is a trivial cost to the creator of such incredible models??? That does not make any sense to me. I can admit that I am not talented enough to create such incredible models but I certainly enjoy building and using them. I appreciate it immensely when precise building instructions are created so paying a fee is fine with me. Please disregard comments from users like that because I am sure there are many like myself who appreciate the time it takes to produce them. Kind regards. Power1369 Quote
Jim Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Obviously it's none of your business I quoted it to him not you I have sent you a PM. Read and respond! Quote

What's the problem to spend 10-20$ on instructions if you spend lot of money in parts? I often see, that lot of people don't have an imagination how much time and work good instructions needs. @M_Longer: Stunning and excellent model Greetings Alex Quote
Jim Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I have sent JuiceStain14 a PM. Let's end the discussion about payed instructions and talk about the excellent L250F! Quote
Kumbbl Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 (edited) Ah, Sorry Jim, i didn't see you recent posting before my latest answer. Well, feel free to delete it... Edited January 6, 2015 by Jim Removed content Quote
Dafgek81 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I myself respect the talent that Mlonger has. And would be greatful if he wants to take the time to make the instructions for this second great loader. I would love to build it and I will be happy to spent about €15,- to get the instructions. Only a partslist for free would be great, so I can start collecting parts for it. Quote
JuiceStain14 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I have an advice for you: Build a large, working model, spend many (by many I think about at least 80-90 hours, yes, it could take even more time) hours on making LDraw files, steps, LPub formating, make sure that instructions does not have errors (like I am doing right now with TGS frame, which basically means building whole model from scratch with instructions). Think about all your work, all hours spend on it. Consider selling them for few dollars, as compensation for all these hours you could spend on building something new. And then publish all your work for free if you wish. Well if you post something on euro ricks you have to spend so much time on and don't be so lazy make them free And then publish all your work for free if you wish. A lot of work goes into these instructions and LDraw instructions are high quality. Many MOCers make their instructions free but some choose not to as it take a lot of effort If he was smart he would make them free People spend hundreds of dollars on bricks, motors, etc for models and then do not want to pay what is a trivial cost to the creator of such incredible models??? Dafgek81 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Maybe talented, but also cheap. Telling people to give instructions out for free. I find it a bit arrogant. I am not so talented, so I appriciate the skill and time these guys put in there models and instructions. So it would just be fair to give them something back for there time. TLG designers get payed for there work to. But because of the amount off models sold, only a little percentage goes to the designer. Quote

afol1969 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I need to get more bricks mostly just have Technic stuff. Same here. Until now I've only built pure technic models, but now I get the taste for welldesingned and detailed models in style of the model team sets. And this MOC is an excellent masterpiece which is worth to build it - and have instructions. @M_Longer: If you need any help with instructions, just ask. Greetings Alex Quote
neoconagenda Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 When I see builds like this I start to question why I put so much into UCS sets! Quote
Dafgek81 Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 How long till we have instructions???? Quote
Rishab N Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Dafgek I don't want to seem rude, but we all need to stop pestering M Longer. I want instructions as bad as you and really want to build this, but just have patience. M Longer will let us know when they are ready Quote
Dafgek81 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Hallo Marek, Don't want to seem rude, but is there any news on partslist or instructions? I'm going nuts waiting on seeing how many parts I (don't) have on this massive and beautiful machine. Quote
Epic Technic Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Favorite loader ever!! How do you make instructions? It must be soooo hard to do Quote
M_longer Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 Favorite loader ever!! How do you make instructions? It must be soooo hard to do I am using MLCad and LPub. And no, there are no instructions for the Volvo, because I don't have time to play with any real or virtual bricks lately. Quote
Dafgek81 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 But are you still planning on making them? Would hate the fact to not be able to build it. Quote
Mats_o Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I Do love it to. I Have a long term work in progress for a smaller and a little older loader, Maybe a L150C or something like that but it won't look as good. I'm not that good (I would like to be :D ) Quote
