SilenWin Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Hi guys! What do you think about these wheelarches? Quote
Jim Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Not too bad at all. I like 'em The rear ones are bending a bit strange though. Quote
SilenWin Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 The rear ones are bending a bit strange though. Yes, it looks strange. But this is only way to open the rear cover freely. Maybe I try to change something a bit later =) Quote
darsedz Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 for me all extra black parts - supporting wheel-arches - looking good.... Quote
valis Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Those arches are much better! Little things can make a big difference. Loving all the extra "aero" pieces too, the finish the car off nicely. Quote
Vavoom Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Apologies if I seem to be blind but I can't seem to find the B model instructions http://service.lego.com/en-gb/buildinginstructions/42039 All I see are the instructions for the A model. Am I missing something? Quote
Jim Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Apologies if I seem to be blind but I can't seem to find the B model instructions http://service.lego....tructions/42039 All I see are the instructions for the A model. Am I missing something? Hmmm that's strange. I have downloaded them from the LEGO site. Give me a minute... Here's the (temp) link to the BI in my dropbox: Link to 42039 B-model BI I assume it's not a problem to link them here. Quote
Vavoom Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Thank you very much! I'm grabbing it now :) Quote
metulskie8 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Hello Technic friends it also works without the new Lego parts Quote
Jim Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Nice work! Can you post a side view image? Thank you very much! I'm grabbing it now :) No problem! Quote
TheItalianBrick Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Like the red one! Maybe with a bit of more red...or why not the original 42039 green! I have a question: regarding these new driving rings....when will we be able to order them from brick&pieces?? I can put them in my cart but there are no prices infos...does it mean are not available yet? Quote
JGW3000 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I can put them in my cart but there are no prices infos...does it mean are not available yet? That happened to me once, the parts were free - shipped with the rest of the order with no charge. I felt a bit guilty, but go for it if still available! Quote
zux Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I have a question: regarding these new driving rings....when will we be able to order them from brick&pieces?? I can put them in my cart but there are no prices infos...does it mean are not available yet? I've ordered some already. If it is not grayed out then it is probably available, keeping in mind this is a new part. Quote
Detzit Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Hi Everyone. Sorry, I couldn't find a 42039 MOD topic so I'm posting this here. Again as with some previous sets I tried to build this with the parts I already have. So, some "creative" solutions to overcame the lack of the new parts. Here is the result. Wheel arches Quote
Eraman Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Really cool, better than the original! Nice colour scheme. Good work, Congrat! Quote
Cumulonimbus Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) I really like the looks of your MOD, clever use of the transparant cylinder block as well. Good job! I am curious how it would look if you switched the two red panels in the front, it might look similar to the preliminary version of the 42039, which is never a bad thing. Eraman Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 one remark, i made the cabin "window" red, not black. Quote
metulskie8 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 A nice variation, I like the fenders and lights very good. Too bad I did not come up with this idea. Quote
Detzit Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Thanks @ metulskie8 - I like your color scheme very much red and DBG looks very good! Also your wheel arches are very solid. My solution is quite fragile. Quote
Cumulonimbus Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) Thank-You. Sorry what is "DBG"? Dark Bluish Grey, the color of the dark grey parts in recent sets. The name was created to be able to make the distinction between it and the older types of grey. Edit: LBG is of course Light Bluish Grey, similar story as for DBG Edited February 6, 2015 by Cumulonimbus Quote
Jockos Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Oh, thanks it helps me a lot when sorting parts. Quote
Erik Leppen Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I really like your version Detzit! I especially like the dishes in the wheels. Also your wheel arches are a great solution. Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 @Detzit: Wow, your version looks so cool, you made me wanna try it myself! Quote
