Detzit Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Thanks, Maybe you can find a better solution for that half bush... Quote
MacKaiwer Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 (edited) I thought all the time that I do only the B model but I'm glad that I changed my mind and made the A model. It's huge and awesome. I really like it and design is just fine for me. Only thing that bothered me was the ugliest headlights in the world. I tried to make better ones but had only limited resources of spare parts and this was only alternative that I managed to do: What you think of them? Edited February 8, 2015 by MacKaiwer Quote
Vavoom Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I built the B model and noticed the extra pieces so I added a go-faster spoiler. I also added a floor to the trunk/boot but that wasn't as interesting to take a photo of. Anyone do any other modifications to the B model? Quote
Trace17 Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I haven't seen any mention of this on display at NY Toy Fair. Is this not going to be released in the US? Quote
WR3KL3SS Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I really like the looks of your MOD, clever use of the transparant cylinder block as well. Good job! I am curious how it would look if you switched the two red panels in the front, it might look similar to the preliminary version of the 42039, which is never a bad thing. Are those 6 x 6 radar dishes? Quote
WR3KL3SS Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 (edited) Closed up the rear and added a better brake light. Also made the back symmetrical by adding a coupe of beams. Edited March 4, 2015 by WR3KL3SS Quote
Detzit Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 @WR3KL3SS yes, Dish 6 x 6 Inverted (Radar) - Solid Studs. Really like your closed back solution Quote
WR3KL3SS Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 (edited) Added radar dish to front wheel. When I saw Detzit's idea it immediately reminded me of the Mazda 787B LeMans car. I'm a Mazda fan so I had to do it. Also added lights to front spoiler, not sure how I feel about them... Modified the rear to secure it better Edited March 6, 2015 by WR3KL3SS Quote

I wanted to be the first to add RC motors and it be recorded. It looks awesome! Do you think yo could post a youtube video of it in action, and all it's changed parts? (close ups?) I was promised a 42039 for my birthday, so we ordered it on bricklink, as it isn't out in stores in the US yet. But it hasn't arrived yet. How long does a package usually take to ship through bricklink from a store in The netherlands to the US? The reason I ask, is that it was purchased around March 6th, shipped about March 7th/8th, but the tracking says the package is still in transit, and has not been delivered into my country yet. Has the icon not been updated, is the tracking slow, or is it simply still in the air after a week? Sorry if I got off topic. Again, the model looks great. Quote
Erik Leppen Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 A lot can be said about this model, but it has one huge positive aspect, and that is, that it's very moddable. Seeing what all the people here do with it, it's surely a good source of inspiration. Quote

mihai_9600 Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 (edited) I don't think LEGO prepares all B-models for PF, especially if the set doesn't include the PF parts. Maybe you can get some inspiration from the A-model. Don't forget to use the white clutch gear. Edited April 6, 2015 by mihai_9600 Quote
MacKaiwer Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I made some mods to both A- and B-model A-model overlook Backside paneling and wing Gullwing doors mod Centered seat and sunvisor Back secured mod B-model overlook (with my own racing colours design) Trunk door mod Driver and co-driver seats and gear stick Blue front lights and safety bumper What do you think about them? Feel free to comment, I don't mind Quote
MacKaiwer Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I think that wheels+rims from 42000 set are quite nice under B-model... And they don't rub against anything in back wheel arches because I moved black 15L liftarms one stud towards front of the car (places marked on pics). Part no. 4296059 http://brickset.com/parts/4296059 got little bit manhandled with knife to make room for tire (second image). Also front fenders are liften one stud so there's more room for front tires too. Quote
linkinstreet Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Centered seat and sunvisor What do you think about them? Feel free to comment, I don't mind Le Mans Prototype cars usually have the steering to one side, majority of them on the right. So the original design was kind of correct Quote
