The Darter-class program began as a full-on replacement for the New Republic's aging A-wing Interceptors. The goals were to create a light, fast fighter capable of surpassing the A-wing's modest firepower. Though the project did not quite meet it's goals, the "Darts", as they became affectionately known, proved popular with Jedi and more daring non-force-sensitive pilots.

This was a fun little build, though figuring out how to connect the nose with the cockpit section was a longer process than it should have been. I'm fairly new to the world of more complex SNOT building, so all things told I think it went pretty well! The landing gear actually does fold up into the nose cone, as well, which I'm more proud of than I should be.

Also, I really hope the embedded photos worked. Please let me know if they don't.

I think that is pretty sleek SNOT work, myself. This is a neat little ship.

Do you have plans to physically build this, or will this remain a LEGO Digital Designer model?

I really like this! Reminds me of a stubby winged E-Wing. I think you have managed to get the flow of the cockpit into the body extremely well, this is my favourite part of it, the way it all looks like the lego parts were made to be used in this way. I want one!

It looks like A "Battlestar Viper" & a "Jedi Interceptor" had a kid.

(I am thinking Attack of the Clones version, for the interceptor.)

I like this!! It looks sleek, speedy and agile!!

Small ship with a large engine, how could you not like it!!

Nice use of those big wedged slopes.

I'm in the process of bricklinking the parts I don't already have, so odds are this will end up as a physical model at some point hopefully!

Yeah, the Mk. II Viper from the re-imagined series was definitely an inspiration here.
