Macsen Wledig Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Nu-Earth: a planet ravaged by war, its atmosphere poisoned by chemical weapons. In this battle ground between the Norts and the Southers only the Genetic Infantrymen can survive. The Rogue Trooper is one such soldier, created by the Southers to be able to thrive in Nu-Earth’s hostile and toxic environment. He is the sole surviving GI of the military disaster known as the Quartz Zone Massacre and now he hunts the traitorous Souther General who caused it. With him are the memory implants of three of his dead comrades, Helm, Gunnar and Bagman, who are installed in his helmet, rifle and bag, and who through their integration with his equipment, offer Rogue a further edge over his Nort enemies. Rogue Trooper was created by Gerry Finley-Day and Dave Gibbons and first appeared in the British Science Fiction comic 2000AD (home of Judge Dredd). The series was hailed for its excellent artwork thanks to the craftsmanship of Gibbons and other artists such as Cam Kennedy, Colin Wilson and Brett Ewins. The character now belongs to game developers, Rebellion. You can read the first ever strip on the BBC’s website: here. This is a little different to my usual MOCs, my first attempt at sci-fi in fact, but I was encouraged to make it by the competition over at the Lego War Group over on Flickr. Anyway, it’s always to step outside of one’s comfort zone every once in a while, and I’ve always had a soft spot for the Rogue Trooper. Thanks for viewing, your C&C is most welcome! Quote
robuko Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Brilliant. I love Lego 2000AD builds. What head did you use? I really like the way you made rogue's legs, it gives a great sense of motion. You have captured the futility of fighting for Nu Earth very well with the desolate landscape and high tech amongst the mud. Nice work with the sloping plates too. Quote
Yzalirk Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 This is such a badass MOC, I love it! The terrain is beautiful as well as the minifig posing. Great work here! Quote
Colossus Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 (edited) Excellent use for ice cream pieces! The soldier looking to his right as his buddy is taken down is simply hilarious. "What the...?!? " Overall, I really enjoy the detail of the build, and the sense of action conveyed through you positioning of the minifigs. Edited October 4, 2014 by Colossus Quote

The head is a custom print that came from http://www.penzora.co.uk/. It's a pretty good piece, though you have to buy the whole minifig to get it. The torso is also a custom from http://custombricks.net/; also a great piece. Now I've got these I'll have to make a few more Rogue Trooper MOCs. This is such a badass MOC, I love it!
