Xenophobic, I say we should lynch someone who likes to point the finger or the most talkative person. Just my opinion though since they could be trying to draw attention away.

In essence, the town needs to make observations to expose the scum. Furthermore, scum generally know who the other scum are, and thus are usually not active so as they don't let slip a denotation of their allegiance (note these are stereotypical bases, but nonetheless founded.) Overall, my point is that both sides, especially town need to talk to expose or accuse the other, and thus this thinking isn't that reliable.

Level console class everything.

I'm a level 15 Warlock, I play too much Crucible and overuse melee. After all, it is a Bungie game.

Offtopic much? Well yes but it's mafia so...

Not sure how you're playing a video game when we're locked up here in a cinema...

That would be Schrodinger's cat.

Interestingly, Schrodinger actually came up with the cat in the box as an example of how people can over-think things. It's meant to be ridiculous, only people thought he was being serious.

I've gone a bit off topic with Destiny I know but I can say this. Engrams why?

This brings up a new question. What do you mean by acting "against town"?

Fair point. Well if you look at the conversation as a collective with valid discussion etc. Against town would be to start arguing over nothing or just being generally useless etc. trying to anger people, That's how I see it.

I have a Level 25 Hunter, Level 26 Warlock, and currently working on my Level 19 Titan. I also want to get to do Vault of Glass so that's why I'm not posting so much as everyone else. Since this is quite off-topic, I'll leave it at that.

Like I said, it's still just Day One, let's just see how this plays out, yes?

I think town when not being the roles is where we all come together and are greater than the sum of our parts and do cool analysises and uncover scum and so to act against town would be to try and halt the discussion, mislead everyone etc. That is acting against town. My previous definiton was a bit vague.

I'd like someone to come together without someone else saying "Hey, why are you guys acting together? You must be scum!" and then having everyone confuse themselves. I'll save my 'acting together' for the next day when I know where my suspicions lay.

Yes, let's wait and do nothing until we have to vote and we'll vote for someone with no actual reason, great idea. :sarcasm_hmpf:

Like I said, let's not overthink this and Lynch the man using witchcraft. Let's lynch the people acting against town.

For clarification, are you suggesting we lynch Gandolf ?

Pyrovision, I can second that since this is only day one.

Are you agreeing with a Gandolf lynch?

Speaking of which, I have my suspicions and I can tell one of them could be correct...

Care to share?

I personally believe that it was Reverend green in the - Oh what's the point. Your sarcasm is not apreciated Arctic batman. I suppose your Ice sharp wit is a character trait no?

For clarification, are you suggesting we lynch Gandolf ?

Oh god no, that was referring to the medieval tendancy to Lynch people they thought were witches or wizards with little or no evidence and deadly tests. Should we test him if he shall not pass [sniggers] That was a joke.

I don't like to point fingers so I'll keep them to myself but you, Pyrovisionary, is not one of them. I'll keep my eyes peeled on the three people I think are baddies.

I would ultimately say that Cutcobra seems a bit suspicious to me considering sarcasm can be a scums greatest weapon... unless he's always sarcastic...

You're being overly defensive because Cutcobra's comment was directed at yourself. Raw bias and prejudice will rend the town apart.

Or, he could just be pointing out the endless cycle we're falling into.

Hmm..interesting. Considering all of us are suspicious because it is only day one and we really don't have much to go on, why isn't he suspicious? What do you know that the rest of us don't?

Fine, it seems sarcasm cannot be used in a mafia game so I'll just rephrase what I said earlier in a non-sarcastic way.

We can't let the day just play out if we don't start saying who we suspect of being scum and why. I believe that would lead to a pointless vote. I already know who I'm voting for and why anyways, unless he/she proves himself/herself to be town.

Scaevola, yeah, you're right. We should just see who sticks out like a sore thumb, in a bad way, then. Still though, I'll still have my eye on those who I think are untrustworthy. Let's just hope paranoia doesn't set in too soon, like with myself. Shall we continue?

Don't say that, it implies you are going to make me not fine..... For now.

My attempts at humour may fail, if so, I'm sorry.... For now.

I do appreciate your attempts at humor, and I do appreciate your responding to my request for clarification promptly.

However all tidbits of conversation must be taken into account for further study later on. If you are innocent town then you have nothing to worry about,..except scum trying to take you out. If your scum then a little slip up might mean something later on.

Just as a general point of interest, specifically saying that "you're going to be keeping your eyes on the three people you think are baddies", could be also read as trying to establish a sub conscious concept that you are not a baddie.

Also, reading your second comment which was made while I was typing, seems to establish my point even further. I'm not saying specifically that you're scum, but you do seem to be over-focused on proving how dedicated you are to "watching those you find untrustworthy". To quote a wise saying "He who cries foul the loudest, is the most guilty."

That makes it alot more clear. I think you should rephrase it as Heckz though.... Again, joking.

Thank you. and yes, things must be analysed. I just think if they are done so too much it can be overthought - anyway I've said that already so I won't repeat it.

Man, sleep a while and miss all sorts of fun...

I'll just find a seat and watch you two, adventurer1 and Xenophobic Monoxide, duel each other, yes?

Sure, I'll watch a good fight too. Lightsabers rock! (but my storm powers would simply (and literally) blow both of them away, HA!)

It's quite odd to see everyone turn on each other on Day One, check please?!

Odd? Seems completely normal to me. Let's see, lots of finger pointing, baseless accusations, ranting and raving, yep, we're right on track.

My take on the miller claim - seems likely legit to me. With this many people, the odds of getting investigated are slim. So why take the risk of a miller claim? I just don't see the gain for the scummos in doing that. And just because this is a "simple" school game, doesn't mean there's not ANY curveballs thrown. ESPECIALLY when Dr Def gave a blatant list of possible roles.

And those of you who didn't see the link in the day's intro? You better step up your game. There was a single link in there and you missed it? It was even in a section titled "opening day strategies" and had a big bold phrase in front of it. We gotta pay better attention to what's being said or we're screwed.

I'm inclined to think that Gandalf's plea is true. However, a few of us seem to jump at the slightest chance to lynch someone. I don't feel safe at this party anymore.

Ok, I think we should temporarily put the miller claim aside. If he is truly a miller he did exactly what was needed of him and claimed up front, otherwise he would impede the town's investigation. Could you imagine the chaos if he claimed day 2/3 or after being investigated? Secondly, a miller claim does little to benefit scum since there is a high risk, low reward involved. If he claims miller but is scum, all he does is avoid an early chance investigation, which is highly unlikely to happen without the claim. Furthermore, a miller is not tha unusual of a character, it simply adds flavor and sparks debate, all good things.

Day one is mostly looking over your shoulder and defending weak/baseless claims, but the more we talk now, the more we have to analyze once the alliances start rolling in!
