Xenophobic Monoxide Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I think we can safely turn our gaze from the wizard, at least for the time being. But this only takes us back to drawing board.
Brickelodeon Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I second what Batman said. Wait, which batman said that? I can't tell a difference.
Lind Whisperer Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I'm mostly interested in why Spiderman is so frequently fervent about how focused he is on watching people.
Duvors Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I'm mostly interested in why Spiderman is so frequently fervent about how focused he is on watching people. Maybe he's trying to avoid suspicion? The idea... was brought up... before. Has it been discarded or something?
jimmynick Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Speaking of which, I have my suspicions and I can tell one of them could be correct... Care to share? I don't like to point fingers so I'll keep them to myself but you, Pyrovisionary, is not one of them. I'll keep my eyes peeled on the three people I think are baddies. I would ultimately say that Cutcobra seems a bit suspicious to me considering sarcasm can be a scums greatest weapon... unless he's always sarcastic... Is this what counts as sharing? Fine, it seems sarcasm cannot be used in a mafia game so I'll just rephrase what I said earlier in a non-sarcastic way. We can't let the day just play out if we don't start saying who we suspect of being scum and why. I believe that would lead to a pointless vote. I already know who I'm voting for and why anyways, unless he/she proves himself/herself to be town. Proof only comes when someone dies. That's a bit much to ask.
TheLazyChicken Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Ok, I think we should temporarily put the miller claim aside. If he is truly a miller he did exactly what was needed of him and claimed up front, otherwise he would impede the town's investigation. Could you imagine the chaos if he claimed day 2/3 or after being investigated? Secondly, a miller claim does little to benefit scum since there is a high risk, low reward involved. If he claims miller but is scum, all he does is avoid an early chance investigation, which is highly unlikely to happen without the claim. Furthermore, a miller is not that unusual of a character, it simply adds flavor and sparks debate, all good things. I agree with you on this, I have never played a game with a miller but by all the reading I have done, it seems perfectly normal. He also clamied to be the miller on Day 1, which most likely proves for him to actually be it and not be a scum. Xenophobic, I say we should lynch someone who likes to point the finger or the most talkative person. Just my opinion though since they could be trying to draw attention away. Why should we lynch the most talkative person? If that person is scum and is really talkative, there is a bigger chance for them to screw up and accidently say something.
Kintobor Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 On the matter of Gandalf being the Miller, I agree in setting it aside for now. We at least have it as an anchor point to work off of, which is better than not having something to use later on. I need a moment to read up on what's going on, so give me a minute as I've been busy baking more treats. Muffins, anyone?
Duvors Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 You know, the presence of a miller seems to indicate the presence of a cop... because cops investigate and miller's are for... confusing investigations.
Xenophobic Monoxide Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 You know, the presence of a miller seems to indicate the presence of a cop... because cops investigate and miller's are for... confusing investigations. I don't think this is a big surprise to us. Cops are a role generally included in mafia games, and I believe Dr. def said he'd include one.
Lady K Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 A good question to think about is just how many scum are there in this game? We have 19 players so I think 3-4 scum is appropriate.
Lind Whisperer Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Has everyone spoken up? I'm going to check lists... Just for the record, Gammora over there hasn't spoken up yet...
Duvors Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Has everyone spoken up? I'm going to check lists... Just for the record, Gammora over there hasn't spoken up yet... So... are you accusing her of... something? She just might not be able to speak... for some reason. It's not necessarily... suspicious.
Kintobor Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 So, reading through most of this, Goliath has stated a lot about people he believes are scum, three people as a matter of fact, but hasn't said a lick about who they are or why he finds them suspicious. Like a lot of people, I'd at least like to know who those people are. Gammora not speaking up isn't suspicious, at least not at the moment. Perhaps she's simply asleep, or not able to say anything at the moment. A good question to think about is just how many scum are there in this game? We have 19 players so I think 3-4 scum is appropriate. It's a good estimate. How many power roles are in play is also a good question to ask. We can guarantee a doctor and a cop, since their basic roles, as well as probably a mafia godfather and the supposed miller. We'll have to see if we have a serial killer amongst us, since we'll only know tomorrow by counting the bodies that pile up.
Lind Whisperer Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 So... are you accusing her of... something? She just might not be able to speak... for some reason. It's not necessarily... suspicious. No, I was just checking to see who had spoken or not.
Yzalirk Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Just as a general point of interest, specifically saying that "you're going to be keeping your eyes on the three people you think are baddies", could be also read as trying to establish a sub conscious concept that you are not a baddie. Also, reading your second comment which was made while I was typing, seems to establish my point even further. I'm not saying specifically that you're scum, but you do seem to be over-focused on proving how dedicated you are to "watching those you find untrustworthy". To quote a wise saying "He who cries foul the loudest, is the most guilty." And how do we not know you're scum? See, you can't tell for sure yet, it's still quite early. And there's the story about the boy who cried wolf. If you keep pointing people out and they turn up again, who's going to listen to you? Hopefully you understand the analogy I'm getting at. So just wait a bit and see if someone screws up, there's plenty of time for someone to be foolish in what they say to give them away. Is this what counts as sharing? Sure, let's just go with that? Why should we lynch the most talkative person? If that person is scum and is really talkative, there is a bigger chance for them to screw up and accidently say something. I do like the see people screw up, good idea. I'll second it, why not?
TheLazyChicken Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I do like the see people screw up, good idea. I'll second it, why not? Sarcasm or not? I can't really tell. (by the way, I am not being sarcastic)
Kintobor Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 And how do we not know you're scum? See, you can't tell for sure yet, it's still quite early. So just wait a bit and see if someone screws up, there's plenty of time for someone to be foolish in what they say to give them away. I do like the see people screw up, good idea. I'll second it, why not? The only way someone screws up is if they talk, and your saying we should just wait and see what happens, which is the opposite of getting someone to screw up when they talk. And believe it or not, we don't have a lot of time. You also haven't said who your three suspects are, and there's some demand to know who they are. I'll ask again, who are they?
TheLazyChicken Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 You also haven't said who your three suspects are, and there's some demand to know who they are. I'll ask again, who are they? Yeah, I also want to know.

No, I don't understand the analogy, since you're not actually making one. Thus far, I have checked player correspondence, and I suggested that you seem rather over-eager to prove your status as a townie. None of my observations, few as they are, have really been "pointing anyone out*", except for you. And, until or unless your townie status is proved, I'm rather more inclined to take your response and add it to the stack of surprisingly defensive responses you've said so far. *In regards to Gamora, I was merely making note of it. I have no opinions on her either way, nor will I have any until she speaks. Sure, let's just go with that? Great way to not answer a question...
Duvors Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 (edited) So, reading through most of this, Goliath has stated a lot about people he believes are scum, three people as a matter of fact, but hasn't said a lick about who they are or why he finds them suspicious. It doesn't really help to keep suspicions to... yourself.Hey... that rhymed! *Dammit, forgot about not editing and edited my last post due to a typo. * Edited October 5, 2014 by Lord Duvors
Brickelodeon Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Spider Man, why don't you just give us the list of suspects you allegedly have? I mean, if you truly are a townie, there is no reason to hide your opinion, and it would certainly help us decide who is the scum more quickly.
Yzalirk Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Alright, I think Lind Whisperer, Cutcobra, and jamesn could be guilty.
Cutcobra Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 And how do we not know you're scum? See, you can't tell for sure yet, it's still quite early. You know, everytime someone says something suspicious about you you already start suspecting if they're scummy or not. I don't find that quite... town-like. By the way, I'm with Kintobor and the others. I want to know who those three people are. Oops, said it right after you commented it. Sorry! So Lind Whisperer, I don't know why you would suspect him. He didn't do anything scummy at all, the only thing he did was suspect about you. Then me, who also suspected about you. And then there's jamesn, who I don't know if he suspected something about you but I find him a little scummy too.
Duvors Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Alright, I think Lind Whisperer, Cutcobra, and jamesn could be guilty. The who isn't very helpful by itself, can you tell us... why?
Xenophobic Monoxide Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I must say Sorry, accidentally posted my message. I must say I find jamesn rather scummy. He begins accusing people of being scum just for having a different opinion than him, then once I pointed that out he became very quiet...
