robuko Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I'm up for a collab. The dwarven side has a lot of the top talent at the moment. I hope that Ecc and kabel will ensure the sides are reasonably evenly balanced before we start.
Slegengr Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I'm up for a collab. The dwarven side has a lot of the top talent at the moment. I hope that Ecc and kabel will ensure the sides are reasonably evenly balanced before we start. From what I have seen, I agree with this. If it would be good in balancing out the sides, since so many Mitgardians have chosen the side of men, I am willing to switch to the dwarven side to swap for one of the MOC experts here on the dwarven side, but I would still prefer the side of men. I hope this makes sense and does not seem pretentious...
Mike S Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Masa, for the side of men. Like the drow, those meddlesome dwarves can prove to be quite a nuisance. Although also like the drow there are a few good dwarves.
MKJoshA Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I just read through Rogue's ending to challenge 2 and the intro to challenge 3 again, and I'm still confused as to why dwarves are entering Avalonia to attack the Drow. According to what has been stated so far, the Drow retreated from Avalonia and the plague and Malicia's undead army are still being dealt with. Can anyone help clear this up for me?
kabel Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 @mk: I started putting the story together before ra was done telling his last chapter ... so anyway, let's assume there are still pockets of drow resistance below Avalonia close to the capital and the dwarves just don't understand how the Elves are dealing with them, and we all know of course how dwarves and Elves feel about each other ...
jaapxaap Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Didnt know that the castle was showed Lego world Utrecht, Netherlands( the country where i'm from)... so it was a big surprise to see it in real! its really impressive! unfortunately I havent met ecclesiastes :'(
Tomsche Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I thought it a real hard choice actually to go for Men, as my own guild is so far the hardest one to build for. I didn`t really expect it to be turning around Dwarves and Elves in the lands of the vikings tbh, and I own like 1 `Evil Dwarf` from the CMF series and zilch elves for use in Moc`s, so it`ll be a very liberal cat A and that will be about it I fear.
Legonardo Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Do we need to post our entries here? January 4th is quite some time away, I might actually get something in for all 3 categories
Leki Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Any side is fine with me... but well I'm Avalonian so ... ;) Leki.
Ecclesiastes Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 Didnt know that the castle was showed Lego world Utrecht, Netherlands( the country where i'm from)... so it was a big surprise to see it in real! its really impressive! unfortunately I havent met ecclesiastes :'( Are you sure? Because I spoke to you. Probably the introducing part from me wasn't that clear. Do we need to post our entries here? Mr Greeble Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Is the dwarves category still open? If so, I'd like to join please!

jaapxaap Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 (edited) Are you sure? Because I spoke to you. kabel Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 okay mc, let's continue the debate here. The reason why the dwarves are mad is this incident from challenge II: An Elven character is contacting the drow in Avalonia. Now, since the dwarves have no clue (It's a medieval world after all) as to why the Elves (who they never trust as we all know) are doing this, they simply assume that the Elves are dealing seperately with the dark version of their own race. They therefore want to eliminate the drow (who they constantly meet in their tunnels) from Avalonia once and for all. That's of course just the pretext for entering Avalonia since the motherload discovered by the Johannsons is leading into territory the Elves esteem prestine and therefore untouchable. And just like in every war, the things that are happening on the poltical surface are just the excuse for the economical reality that lies underneath. Hope you now understand the intention Eccs and I were having with developing the story like this!
IenjoyLego89 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 @kabel: ah that explains it very well :) hopefully clears things up for everyone else as well.
kabel Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I feel like at work where I constantly have to tell my students to READ!!!
Jakorin Swiftsword Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I feel like at work where I constantly have to tell my students to READ!!! You're a teacher? That's cool! :)
gedren_y Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Ooh, I have three little second cousins that may one day be taught by a certifiable Legomaniac. I hope. I hope. Thanks for explaining the subtext some of us may have missed by not being abreast of all the backstory, and its larger implications.

MassEditor Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Wonderful stuff Ecc/Kabel, I will really have to take some time to thoroughly view and appreciate this series of builds! Amazing! I would like to pick the side of men for this challenge.
