jonfett Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 Another film I plan to go and see. I think it is due to be released next week here in the UK. Away, basically this is the effects of global warming on the planet, causing Mega-Tsunamis, tornados, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and more across the globe. I am not very sure about the rest of the plot, I think it involves some explorers coming back to find the cities in ruins. The special effects look amazing and it would seem very realistic. I hope I don't miss this one! Jon. Quote
DoubleT Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 Its from the same guy wich made Independence Day, I guess he loves to destroy New York ;) Quote
Jipay Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 Well I'm quite relucant on seeing that movie. It seems to be a massive blockbuster. And it is another movie on the ecological problems on earth, but as we saw, nobody cares, even if they like the movie -_- I will maybe go... Maybe not, i'm counting on this thread for you guys to give me your adivce and decideing if I should go or not. As I can see all the movies that go onscreen, I love this thread ! I'm not rich but in France you pay 15 Quote
ApophisV Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 hehe, emmerich destroyed NY in Godzilla, too... ;) and thoug he is a german (from the same region like me...), he makes VERY USA-patriotic movies... Quote
Jipay Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 well yes, this is in my opinion what ruins every movie he makes : the USA patrotic scene where all the americans are doing a sacrifice to save the entire world with the american flag in the background -_- Patethic in my opinion (is this right spelled jon ? ) Quote
Neverroads Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 Actually... I liked the movie, while yes, it boosts US feeling yet again. The movie is haunting in a way... great effects when LA is destroyed by huge twisters and NYC is flooded (including a tanker comming trough 5th Avenue!). What will happen when a new Ice Age is comming? Casper Quote
Jipay Posted May 31, 2004 Posted May 31, 2004 :D I'll stay in my house. Here we are used to freezing weather ! But it's nothing comparred to DOubleT in danemark I assume ;) Quote
jonfett Posted June 1, 2004 Author Posted June 1, 2004 WOW!! :o Spolier Warning for those who want one!! I saw this today and I was stunned by it. The effects were amazing and you really felt part of it because it was so realistic (well I thought so anyway). It mainly took place over America and there was little reference to the rest of the world, apart from the odd line about Europe being frozen and so.. The main action was the giant tornados and huge waves and flooding of New York. I felt so good at the end when you see people being saved from the tops of the building and I loved how it ended with a zoom out of the earth. Definately one to see for those who haven't! Jon. Quote
jonfett Posted June 1, 2004 Author Posted June 1, 2004 What do you mean??? I left a huge warning!!! :< Jon. Quote
