lightningtiger Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Excellent 21st Century take on this classic pirates set 'Robinson'......Brick On ! Quote
Slegengr Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Neat build, Robinson! I always liked this set, and your modern update is very accurate with some cool details. The tan instead of white and yellow looks pretty good. I like the canted dock and the arches over openings. I also like how the structure was kept to the same scale with unrealistic openings for play value just like the original. Keep on Brickin'! Quote
Ultimo Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Very nicely built indeed! It's one of the things I like most, old sets redesigned with new colors and techniques. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Very good. I love these redesigns of classic sets - yours has turned out well. Quote
The Undo Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I remember i always wanted to have this set as a kid. You've taken it to the next level Robinson. It looks amazing redesigned. Quote
Kolonialbeamter Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Splendid rework! Had this set as a TFOL, you improved it a lot but kept all the original features! Switching the officer's with the pirate's outfit is a bit confusing, though, but true to the original in terms of color Great job, Keep it up! KB Quote
yys4u Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 This is great! Love the tilted dock! [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] Quote
Romance14 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Excellent job! I got this set for my 10th Birthday. Definitely one of my all time favourites! Quote
dagger_of_time Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Wow. I owe the original set, but this one is much better! Quote
SilentWolf Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I love how you redid one of the sets from my childhood. I am especially fond of the authentic look of the palm tree. Thank you for posting this. Quote
Robinson Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 Thank you all for your amazing comments. I honored blogged in Classic-Pirates. Want to make some bluecoat stuff in near future too. Quote
Staslegomaster Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 It's really an awesome design. The changes are minimal, but they prove you're lucky to have preserved such a rare set! it's some 20 years old - the older, the better as good wine. As far as I know, it's the only set without a ship but with a redcoat admiral! It can be a pearl of any pirates collection. To my mind, only the Imperial trading post of 1989 is much cooler. Quote
Jreacher Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 I also loved that set as a kid, you did a great job modernizing this classic set! Quote
knight_40k Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Great job! Classic, yet modern. I love it! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I always enjoy set rebuilds, and this is a superb one Lovely details, with the angled dock, dark red roof, and torches Quote
