I too have used the bar in the back of a tow ball trick to better secure them. The differences between the different towballs is interesting and something I have seen for years, but never thought to comment on.

Was I the only one who didn't know of the existence of two variants of the Axle 5.5 With Stop? One is slightly longer on the long leg than the other, and you really only see the difference if you have two of them side-by-side.

According to the LDraw file header for the longer part, it's 2LDU longer, which, given a stud is 20LDU, should mean it should be called Axle 5.6 With Stop, no? :-)

I did have a look around various places on the Internet, but I couldn't find any info about it. Does anybody know the reason for the change? Is it even a change or are there two molds in use concurrently?

I have found 5.5 axle has different ends - squared (edgy) vs. rounded shape. Is it related to their length?

Actually the older, shorter version (initially a Znap part) should have been called Axle 5.4! And yes, afaik length is related to shape (rounded or not)

I would like to know what part this is and what is it used for?

The part off to the left is a Midak Sky Blaster, BL part 60932cx1.

The other parts are Cordak Blasters, BL number 57523c01

Both parts are from Bionicle sets, and are designed to be self contained shooters. The Midak Skyblaster can hold four zamor spheres, and fire them in succession. The cordak blaster is fired pneumatically, and it uses unique rockets. As the plunger is pressed, it automatically indexes to the next round like a revolver.

Just bought a couple of these as they were brand new and cheap , having a heck of a time finding the metal hooks used on 8285/8258 at a reasonable price....so i decided to buy these as an alternative....hoping they look nice and work out......

BRICKLINK @ LESS THAN 1EUR

Subtle enough for ya?

The metal Technic hook is that expensive? Wow... I have at least three of them - they were very common in 1990s Technic sets.

Pneumatic Hoses

I have also finally managed to extract my original 8854 set back into my possesion, but the original hoses are a bit shot. I need to replace them, and the newer silicone hoses seem ideal. Can anyone suggest somewhere to buy long lengths of the correct hose that I can then cut to length as apporiate?

I have bought penumatic hoses here: http://www.blokbrick...s/en-us/d2.html

They resemble more of the pre-42043 hoses but they are still easy to work with.

what part is this?....listed as lego but its not a lego part right?

I think it is a Technic figure arm or leg?
