I apologise if this is better suited to the future set wishes thread, but I wasn't sure because this is only talking about individual pieces rather than set ideas. I'd really like to see TLC redesign the 2x7 cylinder, as well as design a new 1x7 cylinder. I've found that it's very difficult to brainstorm smaller sets within the V2 pneumatics part suite, because the only cylinders we have now are the 1x5, 1x11 and 2x11. It's really only small and large cylinders at the moment, with nothing in between for models that don't fit the current lineup. I'd also like to see some method of tightening the hoses to help them conform to bodywork, be it a curved hose with a straight version of the T-junction, or something else. 7L pneumatics could be used for small excavators, knuckle cranes, compact outriggers for larger models, and I imagine a lot more that doesn't currently spring to mind. I'd be interested to hear others' thoughts on this. Edited August 3, 2021 by Bartybum Quote

SNIPE Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 41678 got redesigned in the zetros to look like a 1x2 beam Quote
howitzer Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Not sure if this was mentioned already but there Zetros also gave us a couple of new useful recolours: the thin 1x5 liftarm with axleholes at the ends and the toggle joint smooth are both now available in DBG. Quote

I guess this is a case of waiting too long, and TLG stopping making the parts that you want. (well, one of them at least) Quote
Thirdwigg Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 The Zetros tires are now available from Bricks and Pieces in the US, but most of the fun stuff from 42128 is still not available. Quote

Oliver 79 Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 I just ordered some Zetros tires, new VW Camper Van tires and some of the new 3L pins from the Darth Vader Meditation chamber. Very much looking forward to a new MOC session! Quote

The pump is already available. I don’t think it will be long until the cylinder is also available at a reasonable price (€6-€7 or something). Edited August 4, 2021 by LvdH Quote

Johnny1360 Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 Something I have been wondering about lately and hopefully someone knows. Recently I have been considering using linear actuators for steering on a moc I am about to start. Do they all operate at the same speed or do they go in and out slower or faster depending on what size they are? I have checked they ones I have and they all seem to have relatively the same speed, just not sure. Thanks for reading. Quote
Bartybum Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 (edited) @Johnny1360 I assume you're talking about whether MLAs and LAs have equal gear ratios? If so then I'm not sure. I doubt it though, since their internals seem to be a different size. I don't think there's any reason to believe TLC's designers would have made an effort to get them to open at the same rate though. Edited August 8, 2021 by Bartybum Quote
Johnny1360 Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 (edited) Yes exactly, wondering what the speediness is of both, or is it such a minor difference to not even matter. So I guess I will do a little more testing to see which one fits my needs. Those cross section illustrations are very handy as well, thanks. Edited August 8, 2021 by Johnny1360 Quote
Jurss Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 Just think, which lenght more fits in Your moc, also, steering speed will depend on that steering lever lenght which conects to wheel hub. Of course, it will affect also precision of steering. Quote

Void_S Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Guys, do you have any idea of how and where the mold number for pre-cut pneumatic tubes can be found? I'm taking a hard time reviewing the 42128 parts inventory at BrickLink (11L cross-hole liframs are done) but totally lost in ay identification on the tubes. They are 160/304 and some other smaller sized but BL even divides them into V1 and V2 types... Quote

Initially, I thought it was a Kylo Ren's lightsaber part (axle connector with perpendicular bar mount holes) with flexible tubes but it really looks like a solid part. I thought about the use and already see some of them (considering it's 7x7 sized, following the photo image: Rear rotor barrier at a helicopter. It might work the best for small-medium scale models. Air inlet shaping for some jetplane models Some "flower-like" base for clip-mounted "leaves" All in all, I see the same use cases which also could be made only using the connectors and flexible tubes... The true use case may be the one that utilizes its solidness, while the other solution may self-disassemble under the load. Quote

Void_S Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Unfortunately not, it shows only "part color codes", a combination of mold+color while I'm looking for a model number which is the same for different colors and used across the Brick trade portals. Quote
Scoar Sonander Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 I don't mean to be nosy, but what would you need that number for? Quote
1974 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 I just thinks he means whatever official number TLG uses so he can order them from TLG? Nothing nefarious Anyway, it's just rather standard silicone 4mm tubing that can be found from other vendors in 100m rolls rather cheaply (TLG does in fact not manufacture it for their own sets) That's what I use ('cept when making vintage CS, I use the old rubber ones) Cheers, Ole Quote
