AndyCW Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 I too have used the bar in the back of a tow ball trick to better secure them. The differences between the different towballs is interesting and something I have seen for years, but never thought to comment on. v/r Andy Quote
Zerobricks Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I think the new towballs have the larger hole, so that TLG standarized all pieces which allow bars to be inserted, Quote

Captainowie Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Was I the only one who didn't know of the existence of two variants of the Axle 5.5 With Stop? One is slightly longer on the long leg than the other, and you really only see the difference if you have two of them side-by-side. According to the LDraw file header for the longer part, it's 2LDU longer, which, given a stud is 20LDU, should mean it should be called Axle 5.6 With Stop, no? :-) I did have a look around various places on the Internet, but I couldn't find any info about it. Does anybody know the reason for the change? Is it even a change or are there two molds in use concurrently? Quote
zux Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I have found 5.5 axle has different ends - squared (edgy) vs. rounded shape. Is it related to their length? Quote
Philo Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 given a stud is 20LDU, should mean it should be called Axle 5.6 With Stop, no?Actually the older, shorter version (initially a Znap part) should have been called Axle 5.4! And yes, afaik length is related to shape (rounded or not) Quote

Saberwing40k Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 http://www.marktplaa...previousPage=lr# I would like to know what part this is and what is it used for? The part off to the left is a Midak Sky Blaster, BL part 60932cx1. The other parts are Cordak Blasters, BL number 57523c01 Both parts are from Bionicle sets, and are designed to be self contained shooters. The Midak Skyblaster can hold four zamor spheres, and fire them in succession. The cordak blaster is fired pneumatically, and it uses unique rockets. As the plunger is pressed, it automatically indexes to the next round like a revolver. Quote
Richard Dower Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 this set has a couple of new technic elements in new colours, as in pearl gold: http://brickset.com/sets/41077-1/Aira-s-Pegasus-Sleigh Quote
Richard Dower Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Just bought a couple of these as they were brand new and cheap , having a heck of a time finding the metal hooks used on 8285/8258 at a reasonable price....so i decided to buy these as an alternative....hoping they look nice and work out...... Corvette3 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I think the 8285 is cheaper than the metal hook at the moment. Quote

Milan Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Subtle enough for ya? I think he was talking about large metal hook: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?pg=1&colorID=11&itemID=262&sz=10&searchSort=P It is 15USD minimum. Quote
LennyRhys Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 The metal Technic hook is that expensive? Wow... I have at least three of them - they were very common in 1990s Technic sets. Quote
volks_womble Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I have a couple of parts queries... hopefully this is the right place to post them.... PF Extension cables I have extended the chassis on my 8258 in order to get a decent load bed on it, but in doing so I need to extend the motor cabling. Can anyone tell me if extensions like this one are available in shorter lengths? I only actually need the same as the cable on a PF switch (15cm?) and 50cm is a lot of cable to lose! I have presiously bought the right sort of length extensions (advertised as for trains) but they are black, and don't have the switched interface on the back two studs... Pneumatic Hoses I have also finally managed to extract my original 8854 set back into my possesion, but the original hoses are a bit shot. I need to replace them, and the newer silicone hoses seem ideal. Can anyone suggest somewhere to buy long lengths of the correct hose that I can then cut to length as apporiate? Thanks in advance Mark Quote
