Regarding the various shades of blue, I'd love to see more of the Dark Turquoise we had in the 8450 Mission and some other small bionicle sets.

Interesting, i would have assumed they painted it themselves..

Not my first thought.  I would have looked at the authenticity of the parts first.  Though, given it was a rated Bricklink dealer, I you would like to think fake parts were unlikely.

Lego have been known to produce parts with varying shades of colours over the years.  And black can be a difficult colour to obtain with some thermoplastics.

Maybe they were different shades for 42070 and 42078?

I have ordered recently some black 5L thin liftarms directly from S&H and they are matt, while all my other thin liftarms are with glossy finish. Maybe this will be some kind of shift towards matt plastic...

There is no such thing as Matte Plastic.  You can change the colour of the pelletes and change the texture of the mold to give the appearance of a Matte finish.

I have a bunch of those black curved pieces, I will check to see how they look.  I would be concerned if Lego are producing a greyish or matte black.

Just double checked the parts, they have the identical molding script (C2013LEGO - 18944 ...). There is only 2 differences, the darker one has a crack-like molding thingy in one of the rib, and I placed it opposite than the other 2. This also might cause the color deviation.

All in all, I don't really mind, as these are on my crawler, and given the nature of these beasts, scratches expected. On the other hand: "Only the best is good enough."

The crack is a knit or weld line and has no real bearing on colour difference.  Are the surface textures the same?  The knit line tells me it was produced under different machine settings, most likely at different times and maybe different mold.

Everything else is identical only the last numbers (2-01;3-01;4-01) I replaced in my previous post with dots (I guess those are the number of the nest in the mold).

Yes, it is likely the mold and cavity.  I personally would call Lego and see what they say about it.  They will likely send you the parts free of charge.  It is a very large difference in the picture you posted and is a bit on a concern.  I have never seen such a big difference in black parts.

Thanks for the consultation @technic_addict! I was also surprised by this, that's why I thought it is worth to share here. I will not bother the enviroment just for a tiny piece of plastic, no need to spend fuel and energy about this issue. You know: fake problems.

However I'm a bit sceptical on Darth Vader black bushes(I'd love to get them though). Your second picture might suggest part similar to this was used.

Jang's review confirms there are black bushes.

Doesn't have to be half width, but can max be 1 width.

Also, it's gonna be a main support, which is why I wanted it to be 1 piece. I was just wondering if there was a piece like that, it doesn't have to be exactly that but still somewhat.
