Jorrith Posted October 13, 2014 Author Posted October 13, 2014 Thanks all! So many comments allready.... Pythagoras in action. 7^2=49, 5^2+5^2=50, So it's not quite legal and that's probably why you had some breakages. It's pretty close though! Only 3,4,5 triangles work legally at this small scale. Euhh.... I didn't use any math, but i wanted to know if it was a legal connection or not, so i just built a concept in LDD. The connection is not legal, but very very close, in theory it should not be possible, but due to the fact there is some play in the plastic bricks it is possible to build IRL. Quote
BrickCurve Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) Great job on the bridge! I especially like how you went to the trouble of adding detail to the underside of the bridge. The towers in the centre is a nice touch too. Edited October 13, 2014 by BrickCurve Quote
Gideon Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 A grim place indeed! My favorite parts are the orientation of the towers (just don't keep the build together for too long as the non-legal technique is putting stress on those poor bricks! ) and the barrel vault. Great idea with the signpost for illiterates as well! Quote
Jorrith Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 Thanks! The stress was not really that great, but i allready have disassembled the majority of the moc, including the towers. So those poor bricks will live another day. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Wonderfully sinister looking bridge and tower The stone texturing is superb and the two angled towers are a great touch. Lovely brickbuilt arches too Quote
MassEditor Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Wow Jorrith, excellent work! The build is top notch and the story is great - I really like the reference to refugees too. The towers are nicely done, especially set at angles like that. Thanks for the bonus shot, that is an awesome technique for getting a nice slope under the bridge. The trail sign is fantastic (I might have to borrow that...) but there is no direction to Avalonia on it? In any case, great work man! Quote
Jorrith Posted October 24, 2014 Author Posted October 24, 2014 Thanks! There's no direction to Avalonia on it because it's too far away... Well, that seemed the most logical thing to do. (also i'd be missing the right colored bricks for that... ) Quote
Naijel Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Very nice! Great build. The story and shots to illustrate it are also very good. Thanks. Quote
Spader Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) Very nice bridge! The stonework looks amazing, and it fits the landscape quite well. Edited April 30, 2015 by Andrew Spader Quote
