The Green Brick Giant Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 The Battle Packs are a good price because they are no longer beign made. Plus if you already look at the eBay prices it's well worth buying them if you sell minifigures.
KimT Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 If you have not posted in this topic before, please read the instructions carefully before posting. We are trying something new. The purpose of this topic is to allow people to easily keep track of new sets releases and significant sales at S@H. It is not for announcing new sets that will be released in the future, not for discussion of the sets, and not for any other purpose. ANYTHING YOU POST HERE IS FOR SOMETHING JUST RELEASED, OR SOMETHING PUT ON SALE at S@H that YOU THINK LOTS OF PEOPLE WILL CARE ABOUT (for example the recent 50% sale on Arkham and on the "Classic castle' (yeah, right, classic my a$$). If a Bionicle sword or Makuta costume or Belville dress go on sale for 90% off, that's NOT of general interest. Use your judgment people.... Whenever a set has been released on S@H, or is newly available in the stores, and you wish to inform other EB members about it, post it in this topic. Please make sure that the information has not been entered by someone already. Product releases that are more than a week or two old are probably already old news dont bother entering them. It is probably useful to say where the product is released if you know. For example, many sets are released in Europe or North America first, and in the other region weeks or months later. Saying that a set is released in North America is one entry, and its release in Europe 2 months later would be another entry. The easiest way to know if something is available in a country is to load it into your shopping cart at S@H, and then try to transfer to that country on the main page. If the product is not available in that country you will get a message telling you so. A reasonable way to enter data would be as follows: Date of entry (redundant, but helpful) Set name Link to the set picture if available Where the set can be obtained (S@H, or Lego Stores, TRU, or whatever) Geographic area of release. Use your best judgment as to what you think other people will be interested in. Try not to turn this into a spamfest of useless stuff no one cares about. The idea is that when people do a search for new posts, every time they see a new post in this topic, they will jump to it and see info about a new product release. This is an experiment. If it turns out to be a waste of time or a spamfest, it will disappear. I have entered the first one below as an example. If you have any questions, feel free to post them. I assume there will be a few posts to ask questions, I will try to clarify, and hopefully after that nothing other than "for sale" information. Let's try to make it work. Seems like this needed to be refreshed as some members apparently haven't read the first post of this topic
Dfenz Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 The Farm sets are now available on LS@H Europe, at least in Ireland and the UK. As usual the UK prices come out a lot better than the euro prices. David
dhaas06 Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Seems like this needed to be refreshed as some members apparently haven't read the first post of this topic I knew the original intention of this topic all along, but it's been a year and a half... and these things tend to evolve. Most of us read "sales" as discounts or special deals rather than new releases. So, if this topic goes back to not including discounted Lego sets, what topic should that information be in?
posades Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 I knew the original intention of this topic all along, but it's been a year and a half... and these things tend to evolve. Most of us read "sales" as discounts or special deals rather than new releases. So, if this topic goes back to not including discounted Lego sets, what topic should that information be in? I agree, new releases are all fine and well, but I'm mostly interested in the discounted sets people find in stores/ads. When I read the title to the thread, that's what I expect. So maybe if this type of find isn't allowed in the thread the title should be changed to something along the lines of "Newly Released Set Availability".
voltio Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I think the keys from the original post are "Use your judgment people..." and support for the inclusion of Lego S@H specials. Doesn't that imply that relevant discounts from S@H or other retailers (say, when the 10179 Falcon was on sale on Amazon sporadically) belong here?
Eilif Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 If the mods feel the thread has gotten off track then this would seem like an opportune update of the title of the thread, or a split into threads about availablity of sets and a separate thread about sales. There's enough folks with differing levels of English understanding, that we shouldn't muddy the waters with easy-to-misunderstand titles. When it comes to purchasing merchadise "Sale", "sales" or "on sale" Usually refer to a discounted price. On the other hand "for Sale" refers to an item being available for purchase, without connotations of discounted price. A better title for a thread about set availability would be Latest updates on newly released sets for sale. or Latest updates on availability of LEGO sets. Just my $0.02
Svelte Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 7680 The Twilight is now half price at S@H for Europe/ rest of world. http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=7680

Oky Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 7680 The Twilight is now half price at S@H for Europe/ rest of world.http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=7680 Looks like TLC can't get rid of the clunk-a-dunk. No surprise there. This is a nice price for this set though. But still not low enough for me to even consider purchasing this monstrosity of a ship. If it were, say, a third of the MSRP, I might think about it, but only for parts and for completion's sake. Then again, there are so many other sets I would rather have...
Dadster Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 An Exclusive offer until April 15, 2009... F5610 Builder (Construction worker pushing a small cement mixer). Just $.01 when buying $75. or more on Shop At Home. Use code PSJ1 when checking out. Looks like TLC can't get rid of the clunk-a-dunk. No surprise there. This is a nice price for this set though. But still not low enough for me to even consider purchasing this monstrosity of a ship. If it were, say, a third of the MSRP, I might think about it, but only for parts and for completion's sake. Then again, there are so many other sets I would rather have... I agree. I'd love to have all those gray pieces, but the (discounted) price is still too high for me.
Oky Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Twilight is back at its regular 100$ price Not in my Lego Store it isn't. And they still have a whole bunch of them. If anyone still wants it for that price, I suggest checking your local Lego Retail Store.
Belloq Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Not in my Lego Store it isn't. And they still have a whole bunch of them. If anyone still wants it for that price, I suggest checking your local Lego Retail Store. Meant Shop @ Home US. *hurm* Here's link http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=7680&s...72-e69a12f76d6c
Siegfried Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I think the keys from the original post are "Use your judgment people..." and support for the inclusion of Lego S@H specials. Doesn't that imply that relevant discounts from S@H or other retailers (say, when the 10179 Falcon was on sale on Amazon sporadically) belong here? It means news is supposed to be here and news only. No conversation, no comments, no opinions, no analysis. Just news. Too much chatter ruins the concept as it's too hard to find the news. Here's a made up example of good.. Death Star 90% off! http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=10188 Seems to be worldwide! ..and here's another, this time bad.... Oh cool! Here's my chance to get that set. I've really wanted it for a long time, and now that time has come. Years later my kids will make this day a holiday, but for now I will dance in the street, naked, in celebration. I hope it's more clear now.
Oky Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Meant Shop @ Home US. I know. I just wanted to point out that they may not have that sale on S@H, but they still do in the stores. Sorry, Sinner, I just had to clarify this.
diabloiij Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 is the new castle market place an online exclusive? I been to 3 different lego stores and non of them have them.
DJ Force Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 is the new castle market place an online exclusive? I been to 3 different lego stores and non of them have them. It sure isn´t. I picked it up at the Lego Store in Cologne
Marshallmario Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Hope this is the right spot? Space skulls shows at Lego shop at home U.S. for $19.99. That's down from original price of $99.99 and I think a former sale price of $39.99. For almost 1000 pieces that seems like a terrific deal even though the figures have stickers.
Dadster Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I called yesterday and was surprised to also find the King's castle set (not Castle Siege, but I can't remember the #...) was discounted to $79.95 down from $100. I found out through the "sales and deals" option via phone call.
legomilk Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Space skulls shows at Lego shop at home 10192 from €.19,99
posades Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Toys R Us has a free set #6161 (small blue bucket, 221 pcs.) with the purchase of $30 worth of LEGO; I guess better than nothing if you need the extra basic pieces. Through the end of this week, confirmed in only the US so far (possibly Canada).
k_peek_2000 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 According to LEGO.COM Space Skulls is Sold Out!!!!! Look's like the sale did it's job, I was able to pick one up. Hopefully this will send the message to lego that if something isn't selling, reduce the price 80% and it will be gone the next day no matter how bad of a set it is! XD
