Iysk Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 (edited) ^So that's for Canada only? Lakewood in is Socal. Near Cerritos and north of longbeach. Haha, I goofed. I meant to say SoCal, I live in NorCal. =/ Edited January 14, 2011 by Iysk
lesager Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 US Toys R US: Friday(1/14/2011) - Monday (1/17/2011) 30% off Toy Story, Prince of Persia, and Star Wars lego sets.
SiriusTheDog Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 (edited) I went to Target in Lakewood. They have City Corner for only $14.98!!!! I bought two of them. My fiancée has been wanting this fir a long time. They were on the normal shelf and the price tag on the shelf said $14.98. I thought it was misplaced but I looked closer and sure enough it said "City Corner". I scanned it to be sure. Oddly these were NOT on clearance. I can confirm this appears to be in effect throughout SoCal. Got the last two in Culver City South Target - online inventory checker says that it's still sporadically available. Thanks much for the tip - I've been eyeing that bus for a while. Edited January 15, 2011 by SiriusTheDog
Sisco Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 I'm not sure if this is true of all Wal-Marts, but mine (Paragould, Arkansas) had 8088 ARC-170 Starfighter on sale for 50% off. That makes it less than $30 dollars! I snatched one up to keep for resale later.

NiceMarmot Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Swung by the Santa Clara, CA LEGO store to pick up a few baseplates today. On sale, they only had PoP Ostrich Race ($10), the really small Atlantis Manta Warrior set ($2), some games, and some magnet sets for $7.50: Atlantis Shark Warrior, Manta Warrior, and scuba guy; and Star Wars Palpatine, Nute Gunray, and Onaconda Farr. But they did have some $7.99 grab bags. Picked one up that had a lot of good parts, including some I'd never seen before, and also had five pirate minifigs, including two women. Thought that was a pretty decent score.
VenVoi Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 (edited) I got the Space Police Undercover Cruiser and the Prince of Persia Ostrich race for $3 each at K-Mart today! It's amazing! According to ToysNBricks, a lot of K-Marts in the USA are having this $3 sale on roughly 5 Lego sets (3 PoP, 1 Power Miners, and 1 SP) nationwide. I'd get to one right away if you're interested though. I got the last of each of these today. Edited January 16, 2011 by VenVoi

Surprised there wasn't a standalone thread, but this thread works too. Went to my local K-Mart today and the only ones I could find were (3) Undercover Cruisers. I bought (2) and left one for another lucky soul. Northern Kentucky (Newport) if anyone is interested. I collect some Space Police 3 so I was excited. The full list courtesy of ToyNBricks I think: K-Mart: * 91% off – Power Miners Claw Catcher $3 (reg.$34.99) * 85% off – Prince of Persia Ostrich Race $3 (reg.$19.99) * 90% off – Prince of Persia The Fight for the Dagger $3 (reg.$29.99) * 94% off – Prince of Persia Quest Against Time $3 (reg.$49.99) * 90% off – Space Police Undercover Cruiser $3 (reg.$29.99) Target: * Atlantis Neptune Carrier $30 (reg.$59.99) * Atlantis Portal of Atlantis $50 (reg.$99.99) * 70% off – City Corner $14.98 (reg.$49.99) * City Airport $50 (reg.$99.99) * Kingdoms King’s Castle $50 (reg.$99.99) * Prince of Perisa Battle of Alamut $40 (reg.$79.99) * Space Police Central $40 (reg.$79.99) * Star Wars Clone Walker or Assassin Droids Battle Pack $6 each (reg.$11.99) * Star Wars Battle of Endor $50 (reg.$99.99) * World Racers Blizzard Peak $30 (reg.$59.99) I went by one Target looking for a Battle of Alamut, they had them but they scan at full price. Your mileage may vary. I plan to check another Target tomorrow...

However Border's had all the PoP sets and since they now do price matching, I had them price match Walmart's $9.50 Ostrich set.

There was only one little end-shelf for the toy clearance and it was packed to the brim with junk... no lego. I guess maybe those sets had already sold out there - it didn't look like there was any empty space on the clearance shelf. edit: I see on the other site now that the sale actually started last week. So perhaps I was just too late. Edited January 19, 2011 by tppytel
Iysk Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Also went to Target @ Colma, no sales. Would pick up something today if there were. Ninja and PQ were stocked. The section was also moved over.
ziljin Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 (edited) Amazon.com is having the Ninjago Garmadon's Dark Fortress on sale for 50 USD isntead of the regular price 70 USD. The NinjaGo theme just came out 2 weeks ago and its alread at such a deep discount. I did not expect this. I already ordered one yesterday when it dropped to 63 dollars, and too lazy to order a second one and return the first one because it has already shipped. I will take the 13 dollar loss and make up for it on future sales (in fact I bought a second Battle of Alamut recently for 15 dollars off so it balances out). EDIT: Garmadon's Dark Fortress back at 63USD at amazon again, but Battle of Alamut dropped from 65 USD to 63USD. Edited January 20, 2011 by lego40k
Cara Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I found Target Practice polybag set at a Target in northern California today. There were lots of them stocked near the cash registers for 3.99. (Shame I had really hoped it would be an Easter section set so they would be cheaper).

TypoCorrecto Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Just got back from Target down here in New Orleans and no such luck with City Corner...Still $59.99...
Cutty Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 (edited) I don't know whether Germany-based sales are welcome here, yet anyway: At Galeria-Kaufhof stores they got CASTLE-line's 7097 (Troll Fortress) for 49.99€ (was 99.99€, so down by 50%!) and 7087 (King's Chariot) for 12.99€ (was 19.99€). Get them while they're hot! These seem to be leftover stock TLC is phasing out, so quantities might be limited. EDIT: These sets are also available through Galeria-Kaufhofs online store at the same price! Noticed the same for MMV which is trickling into regular toy-stores and lacks an "Exclusive"-tag in the latest S@H catalogue. So MMV might be gone sooner than I'd hoped for :-( . Be well all! Iysk Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Darn, a lot of the Ben 10, Bionicle Stars, and races got down to 1/2 half off to as much as 3/4rd off. Sadly, they are sold out for the most part. http://shop.lego.com/SalesAndDeals/Default.aspx?va=1 Checked yesterday and they werent on sale by that much, guess it was earlier today...
The_Customizer Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Went to Target to pick up the new Clone Battlepack (in Socal) and saw that they had the new Ninjago (way too overpriced IMO) but they did have some sets on sale (Space Police, and Atlantis) They also have Series 3 Minifigures in!
Cutty Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 (edited) Good offers, but sadly they don't ship outside Germany. I didn't know that and was too much of in a hurry to cross-examine their shipping-destinations, so I'd say: my bad! Although folks from neighbouring states living close to German borders may get some out of these deals! ;-) edit: spelling... Edited January 22, 2011 by Cutty

Well I'm from the northern part of Denmark, and going to Germany just to buy these would be more expensive than what I save on them.

On the sales and deals page some sets where 50% off then dropped even more. WOW! Shadow Snapper 39.99CAD sold for 11.99CAD WOW! Wind Turbine Transport 79.99CAD sold for 23.99CAD No wonder they went sold out so fast. This is where I got the best deals yet. I bought Shadow Snapper and Undersea Explorer when they where both 50% off, around 48% off considering shipping cost, but when i received the package a few days later, SURPRISE! SURPRISE!... They threw in the Police Boat for free !!! It retails for 49.99CAD. All in all i got 3 sets that would retail around 150$CAD for 58 bucks ! Thank you for the free gift TLG I U
TypoCorrecto Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 ^Yeah I just looked at Lego.com and the 7747 Wind Turbine Transport is listed at $18.00 USD...The first thing that went the my head was WTF! I thought I was getting the deal of the century when I got it for $29.99 about a month ago.
B.C. Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Well my quest is over, for now anyway. Over the last 3 weeks I have gone to 13 different Target stores in Northern California. I was on a mission to find the Battle of Alamut for 50% off. I found one, but didn't have the money so I put it back. Went back to the same store just a few days later and it was gone. Never have found it for a discount again, only full price. For some reason I'm not interested in it at full price. Trolling the clearance sections of all these different Targets made me realize that not every Target has the same things on sale or markdown. One store has the item on clearance, but another Target just a few miles away has it for full price still. Take the POP Quest Against Time set. I found that set still full price at most of the Targets I went to, but I did find it for 50% off at only 2 of the stores I went to. Same with all the other POP sets. Some Targets(only a few) had them for 50% off, but only certain sets of the series were marked down not the whole series as you might think. City Corner for $15? I found the tag on the shelf at 8 or 9 different Targets (out of stock for that price of course), but a few still had them at full price with full shelves. I talked to the guy at the customer service counter and found they won't price match from another Target store. I was told to buy it at the store that had it at full price, and then return it to the store that had it for a discount. Once returned I would have to immediately re-buy it at the lower price. I though about it but since I already had the set I didn't bother. Seems a bit dishonest, but no more dishonest than Target playing games with their pricing. Hopefully someone will read this and go play the game for a pretty nice set. All in all I didn't do as well as I had hoped, but I did wind up with a few sets. Bought all these for 50% off: 7572 POP Quest Against Time 7749 Star Wars Echo Base 7207 Fire Boat 7597 Toy Story Western Train Chase 8057 Atlantis Wreck Raider I did pass on quite a few 50% off sets along the way. I found the Troll Mountain Fortress for $50(already have it), and plenty of Atlantis, Space Police, Power Miners, World Racers, and way too many Bionicle/Ben 10 sets. I might buy the Atlantis set if it goes to 75% off, but so far no Legos have been at the 75% off price around here. Although the clearance deals are winding down and are somewhat hard to find, there are still some deals out there for those willing to do the legwork. If anyone in the Bay Area has a heads up on the Battle of Alamut, let me know I will make the drive to get it.

There's some at one Target but all full price... About one week ago, I went to San Mateo LEGO store and there was one Battle of Alamut left in the sale section. But I'm assuming that since then, it be gone by now. My first time (New Years Day) had about 4-5. Best of luck. Hoping to find Atlantis Gateway of the Squid or the Ninjago Turbo Shredder for half off...
