Mestari Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 It's hard to be a pirate these days. Not only are you left alone for good on an island, but worse still, your supply gets dry in a heartbeat... It's my first attempt to do something with water other than leave the baseplate as it is ;) The pirate "borrowed" his head from the 2013 castle line. I hope you'll enjoy this :) Quote
IenjoyLego89 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Nice build :) I like the water effect to show waves, it's simple but effective :) Quote
WarSquirrel Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Amazing! I like how you did the sandbank Quote
mrsniady1 Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Great. I love the disapointment written on his face. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Great MOC, well built - highly enjoyable! It's my first attempt to do something with water other than leave the baseplate as it is ;) The pirate "borrowed" his head from the 2013 castle line. The water is fine too (I am currently working on water myself and there are many ways to be disappointed ). I don't recall the head from the castle line, though. I need to check (which fraction was it from? Red or black?) Quote
Kolonialbeamter Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 When I saw it, this automatically sprang to my mind: Nice little vignette, using wedges and slopes makes for a pretty decent beach! And the poor pirate's face really reflects his despair... classic pirates' nightmare... well done! Quote
Commissioner Gordon Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 he's a dragon faction soldier. a detail i didnt notice at first is the clam with pearl, very nice! Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Great little MOC there 'Mestari', no more rum......just like a pub with no beer...... Brick On 'Mestari' ! Quote
Mestari Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 Indeed, this is a Red Dragon head, that guy: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=cas528 I know this one is very easy to reproduce looking at just one picture, so I have a question - does it make sense to make instructions for it? I'm learning to make it now on a different MOC's that are waiting for publication because of that (I want to post the Rebrickable address together with presentation). Quote
Brotherhood Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Awesome build! I love the azure color you used for the ocean. Quote
Mestari Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 Thank you, but... this is regular blue. Maybe it's not properly photographed to show true colours. Quote
Mencot Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 -Pirates worst fear? -The gallow! -No being stuck on a Desert island and the rum is gone Great little moc you have built, nice details and great and simple techniques used. Awesome, keep it up. Quote
