Endgame Posted January 5, 2015 Author Posted January 5, 2015 (edited) Round 6 >Vindsval VS Pestilence (back): Critical Hit (7x2=14+7=21x2=42 damage) Vindsval sends his Broomstick out one last time. The weapon flies through the diseased quarantine chamber, piercing the skeletal being through the chest before he can react. Its eyes widen and its bony jaw hangs open before he falls to his knees, his body condensing into a horrid liquid as he topples. He hits the floor, dissolving into nothing but a pile of diseased sludge and splatters of sickly green blood on the wall. The party knows that the struggle was, at long last, over. From the corpse of Pestilence rings the sorry voice of Isaac, his tantrums quelled. His turmoil subsides, leaving only the sadness of a child. "wHy... wHY... Ii'M soRRy, i goT neRvous, aNd scared, and I... I thought daddy would get mad, and... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done all of this to you... I shouldn't have..." Asphalt Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Vindsval drops to his knees as he hears the pitiful wails of the doomed child. It would seem that yet again, to do what was right, he must cause a youngling pain. He reaches into a long tube slung at his waist and removes a carved rod. A prayer rod similar to the one he gave another child. He recited a muffled prayer, the words rumbling deep in his chest. The runes carved into the surface of the miniature staff glow with a pale golden light. He places the rod into the pile of goo, it flares with an intense brilliance, and the putrefaction is scoured away by the holy light. Be at rest Isaac, and know that you are remembered, and that answers shall be sought on your behalf. He clenches his jaw and speaks through his teeth. And Vengeance if those answers ring falsely. Vindsval scoops up the items dropped by the Pestilence. He Places the Toxic Hood, and 1 Deadly poison among his own belongings and holds the Jade and Other poison out the Salt-Upon-Wounds. Would you be interested in either of these my Friend. Vindsval asks using the term friend for the first time when speaking on one of Salt-Upon-Wounds' kind. . Quote
Yzalirk Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 "That was quite the fight, wouldn't you say Vindsval? As much as I'd like to take those items of you're hand, you keep them. I won't be sticking around too much, buddy." Quote

Asphalt Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Vindsval continues to move through the decrepit areas of the mansion. The whole time contemplating what he will do when he sees the doctor again. Is there any explanation that could excuse what his experiments turned his young son into? Quote
Yzalirk Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 "I wonder how the doctor is going to react to us. Should we be honest and let him know about Isaac?" OoC: I hate to sound needy but when will the quest be finished? Quote
Asphalt Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 I will not simply tell him of his son, I will demand an explanation. OOC: Endgame said he would wrap it up this weekend. Quote
Endgame Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 QM Note: A power outage delayed the ending, but it should be over by Sunday night! The party treks back through the dank manor, Isaac's voice whispering and dwindling away to nothing as the party leaves. "Tell doc... Tell Dad... I'm sorry..." They reach the door to his new, barricaded lab, the doctor hearing the party's footsteps. "The deed is done, I hope." says the voice of Dr. Gryphinn. "...You two carry an awful stench." Quote
