Endgame Posted November 18, 2014 Author Posted November 18, 2014 (edited) Vindsval was incapable of seeing the objects that feell - na dindeed, so was Salt - the odd objects apparently invisible, as if it bleached out of existence. As he wipes his hands across the odd substances that cast the shadows and fell from the ceiling, they felt disturbingly... Organic. Edited November 18, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Asphalt Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Vindsval flicks his hands, as if to fling off muck no one can see. Invisible Slugs, poisoned leeches, Soulful machines. What have you been doing here doctor? Salt-upon-wounds, the writing on the wall mentioned that door more than once. I believe answers lie beyond. Vindsval moves to the locked door and attempts to force the lock. Perhaps his giant like strength will come in handy. If the does not work he Attempts to break the lock with his hammer. Quote
Endgame Posted November 19, 2014 Author Posted November 19, 2014 The half gaint first tries to force the lock, but fails, the doctor's lock too high quality to be picked or broken - a bizzare contrast, considering everything else here was decaying and ruined. Vindsval swings down his hammer towards the door with a heavy swing, bearing all of his weight into the smashing gesture. However, as he makes contact with the door, wood splinters bursting off of its surface as the hammer hits his mark, the half giant recoils backwards. He feels a burst of wind and chilliness explode out along with the splinters, nearly sending him tumbling backwards, as if someone or something repelledhim. Quote
Asphalt Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 The big man steadies himself on his feet, and brushes the splinters from his clothes. He spits a few onto a floor. WARDED, "not a drop of ether runs in my veins" ehh. The good doctor becomes less reputable by the moment. I am no mage, I see little chance of my breaking the enchantment on that door. Our only hope is to find the boys "friends" and obtain the key. He turns his gaze to the grate, moves to it, and pulls the metal plate completely to the side. It would seem, down, is the option left to us. Do not linger here too long Salt-upon-wounds. He recites a short prayer under his breath, which again causes his hands and arms to begin to glow with a soft golden light, and without another word he slips through the opening in the floor. Quote
Endgame Posted November 20, 2014 Author Posted November 20, 2014 (edited) The party descends down into the waterlogged basement, various debris bobbing in the murky waters. Wuth every step down the rusted metal ladder the heroes are assaulted by a more and more horrid stench, descending into the practically oppressive disposal level. Leeches, the mystery authoer's so called friends, prowl the knee deep water, but they mostly stay away from the heroes. They were instead drawn to one of the hissing pipes n the wall, every joint spurting out filthy water. Below the pipe is another chalk inscription. Bobbing in the water, the party finds something - or rather, a pair of somethings - a pair of quality gloves, only recently disposed of. They appeared to be Jonathan's size. What would the party do? Edited November 20, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Asphalt Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 By the wanderer this way is one most foul. I am not made for this. In a partial stoop, Vindsval slogs through the muck and detritus over to the wall. He grabs the gloves, and stuffs them into a pouch. The he leans over to read the writing on the wall. As he reads the wall, a stray thought goes through his mind, wait didn't the good doctor only have one arm? Why two gloves? Quote
Endgame Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 Vindsval reads the writing after grabbing the gloves: since my frends the leechus have ben garding the key so well i took them down to the house sea to play and i saw doc getting rid of sum gloves. he said "izik dont you ever touch these gloves or i will be very very angry" so i have to make sure nobodee touches the glves or doc wil get angry with me and i hate it when he does that. he already took away all of my toys and stuff some im afrayd of what he might do next because hes very nice but sometimes he gets very very angry. Vindsval soon realizes the mistake he made by taking the gloves, the water behind the party churning and stirring. The muck accumaltes and amasses, forming disgusting, handlike amalgams reaching out from the sewer water... The same strained voice from the statues rings out from seemingly below the water, the sorrowful screeching gurgling around them. "giVe it BAck giVe it Back gIVE iT baCk noW noW NOW!! It'S noT yoUrs!" Quote
Asphalt Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 By the Wanderer, is everything in the place alive? Vindsval turns and faces the Muck Rakers. Maybe we can talk to them? He thinks to himself. Spirits of the Water, what is it you want? Quote
Asphalt Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Vindsval Glares down at the Muck Rakers. Be speaks again, this time with more force. Well, will you speak? Quote
Yzalirk Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 (edited) "Vindsval, I think these uhhh... muck things want the gloves back. Do you really need to keep them? I don't think they're your size..." Edited November 24, 2014 by Goliath Quote
Endgame Posted November 24, 2014 Author Posted November 24, 2014 The hands once again screech, forming their murky fingers into the shapes of claws. They were sloshing, closer and closer, perhaps ready to pounce... "StoP taKing ThiNGs thaT aren'T yoUrs! GiVe it baCK! You'RE gonNa maKe dOc ANGRY!" Quote
Asphalt Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 The Doc? Wait that is what the writer called him. Am I talking to the boy? The one who wrote on the walls, here and in the room above? Quote

Asphalt Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 It does matter!! Past deeds haunt Vindsval as he tried to communicate with the intelligence behind these things. Tell me who you are and where you are. I wish to help you. Quote
Asphalt Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 If you will not speak with us, we have no option other than to treat you as a monster. Tell us who you are. Quote

Mine unfortunately was far more eventufl than I would have liked, to put it mildly, thus the delay... But moving swiftly onwards - The water churns and ubbbles as Vindsval pushes his luck. Both land mighty blows. Vindsval even manages to destroy one, electricity surging through it as it sank back into the depths... Only for the horrid muck to amass together once more, and rise up from the sewage, another hand sprouting to replace the fallen one. The water ripples and surges as the cacophonious voice of Isaac calls out from somewhere, his voice now sounding more desperate and afraid than angry... "PlEasE, iT huRts... tHat hUrts, iT bUrns... Asphalt Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 (edited) Tell us where you are, we can help you. If you are afraid of the Doc, I can take you from here. Vindsval continues to try to get through to the boy, while fighting the muck creatures. Vindaval attacks Muck Hand B From Front Row with Spark Hammer. OOC: just for clarification I was told that the damage is doubled from the total damage dealt, not from the weapons strength only. so for the spark hammer (6+8) X2 = 28 against aquatic. Was I misinformed? Edited November 30, 2014 by Asphalt Quote
