UsernameMDM Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Hoke keeps an eye out and watches the patrons of the Lotus.
Waterbrick Down Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 Benji sits down by Mando. "So Barlin, when's your next acting at? Think you could get me a discount, heh?" "Not for another month or so, Wigglepike's got me staring in some show about two dueling crime families living in Eubric, very bold on his part if I may say so." The heroes stick around for another hour or so, patrons come in and out, some of them clearly inebriated, some in hurried and secretive manner, others casually waltz in and out. Nothing however seems to strike the trio as suspicious or note-worthy.
UsernameMDM Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 "Det. Hoples, let's go to the nearest crime scene. Mando, grab your next one to go."
UsernameMDM Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 "If you think this is fun, you might want to be along for what we are about to get into," Hoke says with a mischievous grin.
K-Nut Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Althior whispers to Hoke, "Mando is probably our best witness. He's already maimed as is and we can't afford to lose him. Did you find the girl? I recall there being a witness here too," He looks back and shrugs, "He seems pretty out of it too. He'll just be holding us back," "He's drunk? Wonder who's fault that is..."
UsernameMDM Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 "She is in a room upstairs entertaining a room of men who were quite secretive. She was physically unharmed. She said the attacker was hideously large and said aomething to the effect of 'You will never be her!' and that the attack occured around this very hour. I was hoping to venture out into the night and catch the monster prowling about."
Waterbrick Down Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 (edited) Eubric is quiet as the heroes make their way to the observatory. "Well this is it, as you can see, someone or something almost took down one of the supporting columns." Edited November 15, 2014 by Waterbrick Down
UsernameMDM Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Hoke looks under the wagon wheel on the left side of the door.
UsernameMDM Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Hoke inspects the damage, trying to decipher if it was done by claws, brute strength, smashing, etc.
Waterbrick Down Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 Hoke looks under the wagon wheel on the left side of the door. Hoke removes the clutter and finds: 20 Gold Benji digs in the ground with his shovel. Buried just under the surface of the muk and mire of the street, Benji finds a shattered glass vial. The beastwarrior's sensitive nose picks out the distinct odor of noxious alchemical substances. Hoke inspects the damage, trying to decipher if it was done by claws, brute strength, smashing, etc. The Mystic Knight spots claw marks up and down the columns, there appears to be no damage higher than 12 bricks.
Flare Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 "Hey Marlin! Come down here and sniff this. Familiar?" Benji leads the actor down to where he found the alchemical substance smell, to try and determine the reaction.
UsernameMDM Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 "Detective, are the glass vials at the other sites?"
K-Nut Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Althior looks around "Would it be possible to see where this scent leads, Master Carvenhall? Or would it be too old?" Althior peers into the window.

Benji leads the actor down to where he found the alchemical substance smell, to try and determine the reaction. Barlin wrinkles his nose at the glass. "What on olgeia is that smell?" "Detective, are the glass vials at the other sites?" "Now that you mention it, one of the privates did note some broken glassware outside the Theater during our original investigation. Didn't think much of it at the time, doesn't mean there isn't more around the other sites." Althior looks around "Would it be possible to see where this scent leads, Master Carvenhall? Or would it be too old?" Althior peers into the window. Benji notes that the smell doesn't leave a trail and is restricted to the bottle itself. Althior peers into the window, but the interior of the observatory is dark. Edited November 16, 2014 by Waterbrick Down
Flare Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Benji looks at the others. "Let's move on to the next locale."
UsernameMDM Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Hoke inspects the glass to see if it matches anything that was in Mando's dressing room or anything that was in the Lotus.
Waterbrick Down Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 "Swifthorn's establishment will be closed at this point. Are you planning on waking him?" The glassware does not match any of the bottles from either the Theater or the Lotus. Hoke does notice a small stamp on the bottom of the glass, but it is too small to be easily identifiable.

Hoke uses his magnifying glass to further inspect the glass. Hoke doesn't have a Magnifying Glass. "Either of you have a Magnifying Glass to make out this stamp? If there is nothing left here, mayhaps we should be off to the next scene." Edited November 16, 2014 by UsernameMDM
K-Nut Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 "Private, you didn't keep any of the glass, did you? If we can match the labels, we may have some correlation between the incidents. We could go back and check the hanging gardens and/or the alley behind the theater. Or perhaps Mr Mando may recognize it?"
Waterbrick Down Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 "It was mentioned in the report, but no evidence was submitted." "Never seen anything like that before."
K-Nut Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 "I say we head back to the gardens. The incident there was recent enough that there may still be some evidence we overlooked, especially since we didn't spend much time there,"
