john cleese Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 (edited) mine is I like it because of all the time travel related sets it's the best designed. Despite accusations against lego that the Time cruisers/ twisters themes were just a scam to get rid of surplus pieces, i think its the most unique thing TLG has ever done. Mr Hobbles Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Mine is 6665 River Runners: I was bought this set as a kid during a holiday in Norway and I absolutely love it. I still do, I think it's so simple yet so awesome. :-) Quote
Siegfried Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 8455 Back-Hoe. So far the only large set that I have bought on Bricklink. It was expensive, but worth it. Like many other people, I have made a compressor for mine. However, some go further. If you haven't seen the computer controlled modification of 8455 you really should. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=170126 Quote
simonwillems Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Although we already had some threads about favourite sets in the past, the EB population changes quick enough to have a new one every once in a while. Here is my alltime favourite: The best set ever in my opinion and also one of the biggest and most sought after ones Lego has ever produced. I bought this set off Ebay a while ago (130 euros...) and every time I built it it amazes me again how well this system functions. :-) Quote
captaintau Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Varies day to day, but generally either the AT-TE or X-Wing on Dagobah Quote
oo7 Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 There has been several topics on this subject matter, but it looks like no one else here seems to mind...... I don't have one single favorite. These are among the select few of the very best: Quote

But that thing is a beauty..! *wub* I've narrowed it down to these 4 sets: 6399 Airport Shuttle (pic above) 4555 Freight Loading Station God, how I love that beautyful thing.. I've been drooling at the pic in my catalog for ages.. *wub* Someday, I will get it, regardless of its cost.. :'-) 6541 Intercoastal Seaport I love that crane.. *wub* And a brick-built boat! :'-) 6542 Launch and Load Seaport Forklift.. Raised baseplates.. 2 boats.. A great classic trailer.. Need I say more? *wub* And this great clamp-loading system! I definetly prefer that over hooks. ;-) Quote
Norro Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 There is only one masterpiece: God Bless, Nathan Quote
Hinckley Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 There is only one masterpiece:God Bless, Nathan :'-) Agreed. That is the masterpiece set, but my favorite: :'-) Quote
Norrington Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Hard to say. I'll go with: 1) All Imperial Soldiers/Gaurds/Armada sets in the Pirate Theme 2) Cafe Corner and all modular buildings compatailbe with it Quote
supernova Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I don't really have an all-time favourite set, but here are some select ones from various themes I dabble in: 6067 Guarded Inn (or the re-release 10000).. Need I say more? *wub* 6074 Black Falcon Fortress (or the re-release 10039). Possibly the best castle set ever built, wonderful construction and a joy to build. I've got 4 of these, 3 of which are in my parts bin :-) 7658 Y-wing This is my current favourite SW set, but I think the new UCS Falcon will completely kick @ss! I didn't like 4504 that much cos its not sturdy, and 4483 AT-AT's head just falls wayyy too often :-P I actually owned it when I was a kid (I still do, its in a BIG tub mixed together :-/ ) Really fun playset. I think the new gas station might trump this tho. this baby will be mine soon!! Quote
crazymotionride Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 for me its a tie between Market street, Cafe corner and the original technic supercar....mmm gearbox... Quote
Axle Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Mine is this one: Simply because on my birthday my Mam gave it to me, And a month or so later she past away. Quote
Norrington Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Simply because on my birthday my Mam gave it to me,And a month or so later she past away. That's horrible. But, you gotta' keep thinking on the bright side! "'Cause there's a great, big, beautiful tommorow; Shining at the end of every day. 'Cause there's a great, big, beautiful tommorow; And tommorow's but a dream away!" ;-) Quote
Quarryman Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 There is only one masterpiece:[ picture of 6066 ] God Bless, Nathan Though I fully agree that 6066 is masterpiece, I have to say that my definitive favourite is this; ..too bad my original copy has suffered badly over the years :-/ (but luckily I found two 10040s on sale back in March, 50% off, so I bought both *sweet* (and then sold one of them to a fellow AFOL the same day for less than full price in the shop, way lower than Bricklink) Quote
Order66 Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Jango fett slave one all the way for me. Neatest ship i will ever own. The ship got my back into lego Quote
Brickadier General Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 Although we already had some threads about favourite sets in the past, the EB population changes quick enough to have a new one every once in a while. Here is my alltime favourite: The best set ever in my opinion and also one of the biggest and most sought after ones Lego has ever produced. I bought this set off Ebay a while ago (130 euros...) and every time I built it it amazes me again how well this system functions. :-) Although I know I mentioned it on my introduction topic, I have to agree with you on this one. I was fortunate enough to get this set for Christmas '93 as a kid, and even more fortunate to get extra track the following Christmas. It's probably the whole reason I ended up getting into town/city more than any other theme. I got a lot a play value out of it, and it shows. The ball and socket joints have loosened over the years and have a habit of coming uncoupled going up and down inclines. :-( Quote
g.2 Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 The Classic Space set 928 is my all time favourite set. Even though I mostly build in the Castle Theme, I had a decent collection of Classic Space Lego as a child, and the 928 was always my favourite. As a matter of fact I still own my original set. Ahhh Quote
dillthepill Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 Vladeks Dark Fortress, KK's only good 2005 set, IMO. It practically started me on LEGO(and Exo-Force too) Quote
Barbossa Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 I sure have many favourites, but the set I truly identify myself with is the nice fellow with the ice cream cart (6601). Everybody likes ice cream and I love it! Quote
