Technic C-Model Contest Our last contest was dedicated to Model Team, a tricky contest to enter. BusterHaus Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Is the PF Motor Set (8293) allowed? Also, the set numbers are mixed up for the 2nd place. 42029 is the customized truck. Quote
Jim Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 sorry , maybe the prizes drive me crazy They are great, that's for sure! It was a good question though. Didn't think of that. Quote
izorn Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 And question from me. Can i build something from, for instance, 42009, but if i will use less than 600 pieces? Quote
Jockos Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 When will be the next Technic contest start? (I mean with the unlimited parts) Quote

I mixed up the set numbers when changing the sequence. Thanks. No, the PF motor set is not allowed. I will add that rule. And question from me. Can i build something from, for instance, 42009, but if i will use less than 600 pieces? No. The available part count needs to be 600 or less. When will be the next Technic contest start? (I mean with the unlimited parts) Seriously?! Quote
Rishab N Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 I have an 8066 built, but I replaced all the red parts with black, and used the red parts in another build. Could I still make a C model out of it or not? Quote

Jeroen Ottens Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 What about the extra parts that come with a set? Are they part of the piece count? Quote
Jim Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 What about the extra parts that come with a set? Are they part of the piece count? The extra pieces are extra and can be used. They do not count towards the limit. Use the Brickset part count to determine the limit. Quote
Lakop Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Challenging. I'll be aiming to enter this one. H Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 (edited) Seems like Jim is getting a hard time here for no reason....use common sense on what he had said below.... PhyBuilder Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 One important note regarding Bricksets (=Lego's) partcount and contained parts. I've entered my complete inventory of parts into a manualy created Excel sheet and discovered minor and major inconsistencies over and over again. Examples: at the 42025 some gears and pins were missing completely @ Brickset. And although the partcount of 42009 is correct at first sight (2606), clicking on the list of parts shows a number of only 2257. It seems that the number of basic black connection pins never exceed 200, regardless if a set actually contains 201 or 400 of them. Rebrickable is much more reliable, but it case of doubt, contenders should check the exact part list in the instructions to see which parts they can use. Quote
mzoli Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Jim, 2nd prize is the ultimate one. Err, did you forget to add some "OR"? Quote
Jim Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 @PhyBuilder: I won't be nitpicking. Let's all use the Brickset part count to count the total parts. I don't mind that the set(s) actually contain a part or two more. Quote
MrTekneex Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 To make the contest more competitive I would remove the set with over 1000 pieces ... Bad idea, Jim? Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 (edited) Excellent contest, now I just need some enlightment ;-) Thanks for such s great oportunity. Edited October 17, 2014 by MajklSpajkl Quote
deehtha Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 What about stickers? Do we have to use the stickers that were part of the original set, on the original parts? Quote
