Zerobricks Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 (edited) For me interesting how the most used set combination seems to be 42026 and 9392. I guess there' s a lot of suckers for orange and black models, especially me. Edited November 29, 2014 by Zblj Quote

MajklSpajkl Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Wow, there sure is a bunch of us. Jim, you have a typo on entry 33, the designer is not jeanska79, but Dapper... Quote
Jeroen Ottens Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 I assume the 5 image-limit is restricted to the images of the model built. The images of the original models do not count. Right? Quote

And the parts image is excluded too. Wow, there sure is a bunch of us. Jim, you have a typo on entry 33, the designer is not jeanska79, but Dapper... Sharp! Thanks mate Quote

Tomik Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I've found strange think about two builders GaBika and PETI00. Both of them use same logo in left-bottom corner. Maybe they are same person... Quote
Jim Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 I have closed the contest. Hopefully the voting topic will be ready tonight. Quote
Jim Posted December 2, 2014 Author Posted December 2, 2014 I've found strange think about two builders GaBika and PETI00. Both of them use same logo in left-bottom corner. Maybe they are same person... They are both members of the leg-technic.hu blog/forum. That's probably why they are using the same logo. I noticed that they are using the same IP-address, so they could be roommates, relatives or......the same person. However, they seem to be two different persons on the Hungarian website too. I will look into it. Quote
Jim Posted December 2, 2014 Author Posted December 2, 2014 I have a bit a problem with one of the two entries posted by GaBika and PETI00: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102950 The logging truck by PETI00 is basically the Lego 8049, with a truck in the front instead of a tractor. While the truck looks good, most of the other things are originally designed by TLG. I would like to hear your opinion before I open the voting topic. Quote

However it is not explicitely forbidden in the rules, so I would say keep it in. The voters will probably not award a lot of points because of it being a MOD. Quote

The voters will probably not award a lot of points because of it being a MOD. Indeed, I haven't addressed it in the rules. One problem I foresee is people voting for it. It does look good and has great functionality, but it's mostly designed by TLG, not by the contestant. Quote
JGW3000 Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 There are several entries which I would consider not very original. My only issue is that less knowledgeable people may not be familiar with the range of Technic sets, and so not recognize that some entries are more MOD and less MOC. I'd suggest that every entry have a good picture of the sets the parts were taken from. Quote
torso Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 By that logic the 9398 4x4 Crawler doesn't have a B-model. It's just a cosmetic mod of the main model with the same functionality. If allowed, a statement clarifying that it's a mod might be appropriate. Quote

torso Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 who told you it hasn't a B model? I own the set. The instructions tell you to start from the main model and rebuild the upper part. Apparently TLC considers mods to be proper models. Just trying to find a precedent. Quote

I'm fine with letting the voters decide. Quote
