john cleese Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 (edited) Okay, an anti-air Striking Venom Visorak with Thunder Fury colour scheme, and an a ground based version of Iron Condor, which I'm assuming is also anti-air, since it's packed full of missiles, and isn't really equipped for ground based attacks except for those claws.1. Improve the cockpit of the Visorak mech. 2. Make it's legs stronger and more posable. 3. Add something to the lower legs of the smaller mech, because a black 2x4 plate doesn't do it for me. Then I'd consider buying this, it would be much better. Oh, and give it it's proper name. :-P Oh, and 4. Add articulations to the small mechs arms! how about: 1. Scrap this "Bad Guy Vehicle!" Just melt it down completely 2. scrap 2nd mech because its not much better 3. Build something decent 4. build more decent EF sets Edited June 28, 2007 by john cleese Quote
iamded Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Well, that would be the best option. I was taking a more subtle approach, trying to make this set more appealing. Quote
Vader Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 I dissagree completely. Megabloks is known for giant <insert that tiresome argument> pieces, dragons in jelly eggs, and battle pirate ships with cardboards figures to knock down. Aka, crud. Some of their kits are okay, but the majority is far worse than this. Then i guess you've never seen their space line, its basically the same kind of designs. Poor colours, poor designs, poor names....... Just utter crap to be honest. It saddens me to say that this set would fit right in with the megabloks line.... :'-( Quote

natelite Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Megabloks have a new gundam line. They cost a lot too. The gundam is like $100 and zaku is also $100. both are for sale in japan. Doesn't look <insert that tiresome argument>. For the EF theme, I'm going to stress this again, most mechs should be small. Kinda in the same size as cyclone defender, maybe slightly smaller. But pump it up a little. The back is so bare, the front armor is a joke. The cockpit is so exposed. Some of the fan models on brickshelf are so impressive and look so sturdy, I don Quote
Siegfried Posted June 28, 2007 Author Posted June 28, 2007 I am a bit embarassed that it is me that started this thread... Imagine the joy kids and AFOLs alike will have if you start off with basic sets (eg, takeshi with a basic ground unit, hikaru with a basic sea unit, hayato with a basic air unit, and ryo with an engineering unit). Then all the mechs can be customized by purchasing add-on sets and modular sets that include beefier armor, rocket boosters, gatling guns, electric swords, melee weapons, heavier guns, shields, rocket pods. The possibilities are endless. How cool is it to be able to take out the mecha hands and install heavy gatling guns? Or customize your favorite char to be the hero mech in your story tale? I love the idea but it wouldn't surprise me if Exo-Force is missing next year. There is only one set that I really like this year, and that is Aero Booster. Furthermore, since I got most of last years (I missed 2; sentry and Thunder Fury) I don't even find many compelling for parts either. Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 I agree. Aerobooster is the best set for the 2nd half of the year. These new sets look hmmm... strange... Not Exo-Force anymore really... Acording to Swiftone on BZP these picture don't do the set justice... But that's what they said about the Mobile Devastator and it looks like garbage IMO... Quote
Iron Moose Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 (edited) Guys, I really suspect that there's more going on in this model than we can see from this picture. There seem to be some unused 'frame' elements at the front of the quadropod... maybe the biped attaches to it somehow? Like an Evil Aero Booster... note that the Aero Booster is right under this thing in the scan. AHEM. here's what Swiftone on BZPower adds: Just wait. It's better than you think. One of my favorites for the whole year, right alongside the Aero Booster. And I am saying that the set looks better and does more than that particular photograph suggests. I tend to agree but unless it does the whole "Cyberkey Power" thing from Transformers I can't see it making much difference. Time will tell. The photos for this and Dwarf Mining are too small, are bad angles, and could just be prototypes. Quote
Starwars4J Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Hm, well personally I don't care if something else can attach or not, unless this is an alternate build this thing is still too ugly and poorly constructed to make a difference. As for it being that guys favorite set (alongside the aerobooster), that doesn't make it good. Hell, some of our members like it the way it is, personal opinion varies with the wind. Quote
dillthepill Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 K, I agree with the majority when everyone says this set sucks. What the hell is this supposed to be? The "Bad Guy Vehicle" just sucks, the legs are trashily thrown together, and even if they were bulkier I still would hate it. What is up with the technic cockpit? So stupid... The cannon on top proves they are out of ideas, and why is there a missile on the side of it that can't launch. The yellow thing is awful too. With the Iron Condor hands, excessive missiles, and horrible armor, it porves TLC is totally out of ideas. I am very sad what is happening to Exo-Force this year. I know lots of you guys hate it completely, but there are some great sets: 1): The Cyclone Defender: The Cyclone Defender was even better than the Blade Titan or Sky Guardian. It had creative weapons, great design and color scheme. 2): Claw Crusher: Claw Crusher was also creative. The claw and small gatling cannon gave the tiny attacker an air of power. 3): Golden Guardian: What do I have to say? The cannon is gigantic and creative, I love the shield, and the armor is strong. Perfectly done 4): Aero Booster: I don't need to say anything, you know why everyone loves it. 5): Golden Tower: The tower itself is great, with golden katanas and wings, a nice computer, and a dojo. The Sonic Raven is great, no matter how badly it looks. The missile function is nice, and it isn't that blocky as you would think. 6):(I know you most disagree)Mobile Devastator: First, let me say, the Blazing Falcon is a piece of art, with a nice pair of golden hands and hige claws. The Mobile Devastator is good too, if you buy it. It is built nicely, the tower is good, and the inside is good. The Mobile Devastator and starting lineup and DEFINATELY this new piece of crap may have EF look bad, but not all hope is lost this year... Quote
Zarkan Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 (edited) I know lots of you guys hate it completely, but there are some great sets: I agree! In fact, the entire january line was awesome for me, especially the sets you mentioned. I'm still not sure on areo booster, but the other two summer kits rock! "Bad Guy Vehicle" (notice the quotations indicating the obviously preliminary name) is far worse than any of the other kits: even I see no hope for that big 6 legged monstrosity. I like the little yellow vehicle, as I said before, but the rest is too worthless to bother getting the set at all. |-/ On the plus side, this could be an early prototype, and I believe it probably is, due to the stand in name. I mean, look! Doesn't it say: November 2007? They must have given this image extremely early to the catalog makers! :-) Edit: Okay, it doesn't say november on THAT page, but on the Dwarf mining set has November next to it, and since these two kits are related via exclusiveness and never before seen stuff, they both share the same release date obviously. ;-) Edited June 28, 2007 by Grevious Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 I agree with Dill the Pill. And this "peice of crap" everyone is claiming to be isn't. Well, in your opinion it is. But it could turn out to be a great set. -ZotS Quote
Darkness Falls Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 Yeah, all I'm going to say is that I won't argue with anyone, no matter how pointless their argument seems to be. I like the set... and you don't have to. Quote

UniqueBuilder Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 (edited) What is the chamber? *wacko* You're kidding, right? :-P Well, to put it simple, that's where the Admins bring the bad boys to have some cyanide fun.. *skull* This picture was smuggled out by a survivor: Edited July 2, 2007 by UniqueBuilder Quote
john cleese Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 (edited) wow you guys really fixed the place up. When i was in the chamber it looked more like . You guys dont mess around! 8- Edited July 2, 2007 by john cleese Quote
Robbyem Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Wow new EF set how did I miss this anyway, it looks ok. The robot machine on the right does not look great. I don't know if I'll get this one. :-/ Quote
maiq the liar Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Does anyone else think of err, "The final boss who was also in earthbound" in mother 3/earthbound 2 (Japan only, sorry guys...) when they see the spider-like crawler? Quote
Clonie Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 As for it being that guys favorite set (alongside the aerobooster), that doesn't make it good.I'd think he knows more about it than you do... since he has actually seen the set in person and actually knows how it works, as opposed to your opinion, based on one, apparently crappy picture.I don't mean to sound rude of course, I'm just saying. I'm reserving my opinion for when this set is released, or when we get better pics, whichever occurs first. Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Like many people are saying, this is poor excuse for a set. Last year's line was perfectly fine (whoops, unintentional rhyming), but this year....ugh! And at a time when we thought TLC had finally got everything right! Quote
vahkimetru Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Not even if the 2008 sets are completely amazing? Because we have no idea what they will be like, and if they are great, I predict you might take back that statement. ;-) Possibly. But I don't like my mechs being swiss cheese and full of holes. I can imagine a senario when this vehicles comes into the story... Hikaru: Sensei, what's happening? Sensei Keiken: I sense a disturbance in the force... Ryo: Wha? Sensei: I meant that the Exo force disturbs me... something bad is coming! I know it! Takeshi: Well what is it? Hayato: Tell us! Hitomi: C'mon grandpa!! Sensei: I feared this day would come and I've done all I can to stop it... But I think I've failed. I fear that we're under attack by... *awkward silence* BAD GUY VEHICLE! All: *gasp* Quote
