Didumos69 Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) Yes quite, and now it's time for it to die. I know it's a hard time with all these Porsche topics surfacing, but hey, be a machine and put yourself together Edited June 1, 2016 by Didumos69 Quote
dr_spock Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Maybe a Porsche subforum is needed at rate of Threads and discussion. Nice to see Technic forum so active now compared to a few years ago. I know it's a hard time with all these Porsche topics surfacing, but hey, be a machine and put yourself together Or have a stiff drink at the pub. Quote
SevenStuds Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Bricklink has just turned to ... Well, go find out for yourselves. I now need a drink. Quote
Rishab N Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Bricklink has just turned to ... Well, go find out for yourselves. I now need a drink. I like the new interface. Much more user friendly IMO Quote
JJ2 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Yea I went to bricklink today and though I went to the wrong site for a second. Quote
syclone Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 For me it's disgusting, the old one was much better and easier to use. Quote
SevenStuds Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I like the new interface. Much more user friendly IMO Have you seen how the Wanted List works? It's all gone. No prices, only "by shop". Quote
MikroMan Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I haven't had any problems with the old one, and would happily continue to use it, but I'm still glad they decided to update it. As long as some of the quirks and bugs get fixed. Though one major gripe as others have noticed: Wanted List Quote
Thirdwigg Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I really thought the update was going to make it more mobile friendly. Hmm. Quote
Milan Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I am very unhappy with this update. So far, i cant access my profile, or stores or anything important. Only available is their announcements sections. Quote
roppie11 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Here's the wanted list (pic token from bricklink) its upgraded ole added: it also says, v2. this seem to me like a pretty big update. not only the ly-out but also the script etc. that you don't see Quote
zux Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Well, I was sceptical on initial update results, but it the end it will get used to it as it should have some new good (I hope) features that weren't possible before. Website is getting more into "touch friendly", like huge pics and small text, which is totally unnecessary. Wanted list page is useless right now. Picture above doesn't represent the horror. Quote
SevenStuds Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Website is getting more into "touch friendly", like huge pics and small text, which is totally unnecessary. This reminds me exactly of the time Windows 8 came out and we know how that story ended. Quote
Beard Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 It may be touch-oriented, but it's far from responsive. Constant zooming in and out is needed, sometimes the page cannot fit on screen, buttons respond only when pressed twice etc. Quote
Mantarri Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 So from one I can gather, the new "Ultimate" Porsche is not considered that good by It's real target audience? Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 (edited) Has anyone watched this video on youtube and noticed the lego set in the background (behind Richard(you may need to slow the video down)),I wonder who's it is.... Edited June 10, 2016 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
Andy D Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 (edited) Late to the party, again. I am currently working on a 42043. I did not get it earlier because I'm not a fan of pneumatics, so far this set is great, I was mistaken yo not get it earlier. Anyway, have any of you been happily been building one of Marcus's wonderful creations and discovered that even though the sub-module is fun and interesting, but... You just can't figure out where he's going. You keep building and all of a sudden you can get a glimpse of what's happening. Amazing! You keep building and from a pile of miscellaneous parts a wonderful model arises! This is why I build and rebuild his marvelous creations, there is always a sense of adventure and amazement! Andy D That's why instruction making is also so important in the whole design process. you can make a medicore model feel awesome and interesting with good instructions, or make an awesome model feel dull and boring to build. Questions for those who make instructions... Do you make instructions before you build? Or as you build? Or after you build? What do you use to make instructions? I find LDD very difficult and it lacks the tactile feel of real bricks. Thanks, Andy D Edited June 12, 2016 by Andy D Quote
BusterHaus Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Do you make instructions before you build? Or as you build? Or after you build? It depends on the builder. Some use it to design only certain elements, like complex gearboxes, as it allows to focus on the gears instead of the pieces holding them in place. Some, like ZBLJ, design everything virtually and change stuff as they build. Others, like me, build with bricks and make instructions once the model is completed. What do you use to make instructions? I find LDD very difficult and it lacks the tactile feel of real bricks. Primary modeling programs at this point are LDD, MLCad and LDCad. Use either of the last two if you plan to make proper instructions, as the automatic stepping in LDD rarely works correctly (at least for Technic models). Making instructions from MLCad or LDCad requires additional programs, you can find all the info in the Digital Designer section of Eurobricks. Quote
Jim Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Website (Bricklink) is getting more into "touch friendly", like huge pics and small text, which is totally unnecessary. Which is totally not unnecessary for people using touch devices I think the new layout looks fresh, modern, etc. I haven't used the wanted list yet, so I can't really judge. What does surprise me; the interface is getting more touch friendly, however, it's still not responsive?! Quote
zux Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Which is totally not unnecessary for people using touch devices Touch friendly webpage should be given to touch friendly devices only. Why everyone now has to be given big buttons, less number of rows/information per page on my desktop just because some funky devices?Desktop version works better most of the time on mobile devices as well. You can always zoom in/out when necessary. Quote
syclone Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 (edited) I think they should have made a poll or something like that to determine what people actually want and not what they think. On my mobile device(it has a good medium sized screen)everything now wrks really bad and the design is awful,I'd like to see the previous version come back. :'( Edited June 15, 2016 by LXF Quote
9v system Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 hate the new bricklink layout, just not my thing Quote
