Please stay on topic guys....I do see way too much serious talk about LEGO in the pub

Any plans for the weekend?

I'm building a sandbox (a real one) and we'll spend Sunday in the small garden with our friends.

I'm here to drink a fat beer at the bar and complain about the fact that when it comes to cars, the HoF is mostly about slick panelling and scale modeling and not about Technic. I have nominated Attika's 8880 evo - I think on several occassions - and don't even get a reply :sadnew:.

Well, maybe I have a unpopular opinion here, but I personally think the HoF is kinda useless and just creates a separation between the 'pro builders' and the new builders on a forum like this.

But hey, many people seem to like it, so whatever. I don't mind, I just don't use it at all :classic:

I stil like the HoF, but I agree it's somewhat arbitrary.

We could start a project for creating a new MOC index, which will allow for all (or at least more) MOCs to be entered. We probably need to come up with some guidelines though.

This is however not a Pub discussion, because it's a way too serious subject. I will move these posts to the HoF dicsussion.

I sort of feel the same way and most of the time I don't bother, but apparently it is something alive and I can't help noticing that gorgeous looking cars are added almost instantaneously whithout any idea of the build quality, while other more technic-focused cars are sometimes overlooked.

I understand it is arbitrary, so it requires thorough moderation and then still it won't meet everybody's wishes. The same is true for pro badges etcetra.

Having a MOC index sounds great, but it will probably have the same difficulty in deciding which should be added and which not.

In any case. I think it would be a good thing if each HoF or MOC entry would have a short review summary. Perhaps some members could be assigned the role of MOC reviewer and whenever a MOC is nominated a handful of MOC reviewers - with one lead reviewer - is concerned with writing a short objective (?) review and maybe even with giving a rating.

I wouldn't mind being a MOC reviewer for manual MOCs .

PS, I assume you will move this reply to the HoF discussion along with the other posts.

What will happen with the Netherlands in the football qualifications for 2018? Will we have another World Championship without Oranje again? Hopefully not! Btw there are some good German coaches available on the market now like Jürgen Klinsmann or Thomas Tuchel …

Cheers :drunk:!

Well, we are doing a pretty good job of being absent again. If the French had done their duty yesterday, we would still had a chance. We still have, but the chance is rather slim.

2nd place Jose Maria Lopez got a 0.001s difference with 1st place Lucas Di Gratti in Formula E Classification *oh2* The slimmest it has ever been in Formula E! Their official youtube channel offers free livestreaming of the event ,so it'll be a great racing weekend :sweet:

I did reply, because it is relevant to the conversation, it should go in the hof. And I completely agree with the paneling issue, so many cars are being covered up fully does not show what is happening underneath (the Porsche problem) to the point they are model cars. This is good for some builders to test body styles of connections, but not everyone can do it.

I may be watching too, I watch Formula E and IndyCar on the weekends I am not doing other things.

Do you watch IndyCar @LXF?

@Aventador2004 nope, always miss it :sceptic:

I miss the non-panelled cars a lot, nowadays almost everyone tries to hide everything in a shell . I agree , it is more "realistic" , but it loses the Technic spirit .

That is my main thing that I try to cover the body a little, but not enough to hide functions. It gives a better sense of pride to make a complete body for others.

Sad, the Indy 500 was may 29th, and that was a race!

Well, another World Championship without Hungary too. Beaten by Andorra too (everybody and their grandma beats Hungary, but Andorra??).

Mkay, I'm not interested in football just wanted to resonate

EDIT: by the way, I'm pretty sure Didumos wants to see his Hammerhead in the HOF .

Hope Colombia football team keeps its place on qualifications for 2018. At least the amazing season of Real Madrid made my days :classic:

I didn´t know - deepest condolences to a (former) great football nation :oh3: ... Honestly, I don´t follow this sport either during the summer hole.

There is no doubt the Hammerhead will run into the wall of champions some day (without breaking itself) :angel_sing:

The amazing Real destroyed my favourite team another time  (I don´t dare to tell you, but it´s not hard to guess )

And I have no advice to motivate you unfortunately because I´m pausing from it too for a while...

IMO I prefer to build cars that are more like "frames," because they require less pieces and are easier to build. I honestly don't make them that often, because I guess I unconsciously feel pressured to build with panels like everyone else. I would definitely like to see more cars that aren't covered up.

I noticed that with your sinner supercar, that is the style I like. It gives a feeling of raw, light car.

I wouldnt mind of course, but I leave that up to others. Maybe a special category with cars that continue a line of models set in by LEGO itself with models like 8865 and 8880 and also 8448. I can live without HoF though.
