OK I just finished the hard work ;-)

Entered all the parts in BrickStock, using 42009 as a start.

The total part count is 1270 with an average BL value of $401 (New)

My guess was not that bad! ;-)

The most expensive parts of course are the Power Function components.

If you own those already the rest of the parts will cost you 'only' $189

The BrickStock file can be found here: https://dl.dropboxus...Abrams Tank.bsx

You're being too optimistic!!

Does anyone know how the truck and tank fire projectiles?

Rubber bands

I don't think so. If you look at the picture that shows the innards of the turret, i recognize a system that, as far as i know was developed by this guy:

It's a very nice design where a pin is placed as the end of a large LEGO spring. The only drawback of the design is that it is not very powerful. For my tank i researched about every LEGO firing mechanism out there, in the end i designed my own:

Im guessing the rubber band is used for the feed mechanism or or to hold cables together or maybe to keep some plates fastened together.

I just finished building the tank and can confirm that the rubber belt is *not* used in any way.

It is not mentioned in the BI and I can't think of an application either...

The tank performs pretty well, only the driving is a bit slow, especially on carpet.

The firing mechanism on the other hand works flawless!

It was a nice build although the color scheme is a little weird...

It is a pity that an all LBG version is not possible due to the missing of some parts.

I think he means the rocket launcher truck. It will be added to Rebrickable along with the Boxer MRAV soon.

His presentation is nice, and showcasing the models in 'non matching colors' imo might make it more attractive for some builders who could feel more related to the fact they dont have matching colors but the right parts. For someone else who can make it with matching colors it might be attractive to do so to 'make it look better'. But thats debatable.

The high prices are well countered by a good price for the instructions. And as also became clear in the topic about people selling moc's (designed by others)

making a good profit selling a moc or set so to speak is arguable, taking into acount getting all the parts and building it. And since these are his own design's... he can ask whatever he wants. I am not falling for it though.

It could be this person has thought well on how to make money out of lego and made some good observations beforehand.
