the lego dwarf Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 It is sad to see such a great builder leave. I hope you will return soon. Quote
Simon_S Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 Thank you guys. @Z: Sorry I somehow thought it would fit here better, as this is the part where my friends are at. Thank you for leaving it here for a while :-). @Goliath: I'm a firefighter / emergency aid there (basically the only reasonable thing you can do in the swiss military). Quote
Sir Gareth Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 You will certainly be missed. Stay safe, wishing you the best of luck. Quote
ZCerberus Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 @Z: Sorry I somehow thought it would fit here better, as this is the part where my friends are at. Thank you for leaving it here for a while :-). It's cool! I am a pretty lax mod all things considered! Quote
cablefoxley Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Good luck and hopefully you'll enjoy it. I forgot that some countries still have military service. Hope you're gonna be back in a big way when your done. Quote
Wedge09 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I think I will miss you and your great MOCs I wish you all the best, hoping one day you will have the time and the will, as the ideas, to come back and build again in this cage of mad builders Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 All the best Simon!! It was great having you here. Don't forgot to do some lurking now and than(to avoid those awful dark ages)! Quote

Jorrith Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 (edited) Good luck with your next chapter in life... Be safe, and who knows, you will be back one day. Somebody said to me a few days ago that a little bit of dark age doesn't hurt anybody. I sure hope this is true for you too! Edited October 21, 2014 by Jorrith Quote
mrcp6d Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I hope for the LEGO community that this is only an interlude. We'll miss you for sure. I hope for you that you learn some things about yourself during your service. I have the utmost respect for those in uniform. I hope you can stay as safe as you can and return back to your family, country and friends! Quote
NiceMarmot Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Good luck! We'll miss you. Maybe there will be some time for some LDD builds... Quote

Disco86 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Well Simon, that's how things are going somedays. Have a nice time and then you come back as an AFOL having his pockets full of money ! Btw I always thought, that Switzerland has no army ? Maybe I was wrong... that destroys my secret plans for world domination Quote
SarahJoy Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 GoH will miss you! Make the most of your time in service; while it may not be your preferred use of time, it can be an incredibly rewarding experience. Best of luck, and stay safe. Quote
Garmadon Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 We'll miss you, Simon, hope to see you back here someday! Quote
Kayne Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Simon, it is a shame for the community to lose a builder of your caliber. However, your country made a gain today for sure! I hope to see you back here again soon, because you have always been a positive member of the community who pushes others to their best with your constructive comments, and was always respectful. I know that personally, you have given me some great feedback that helped me to improve, and I've stared long and hard at many of your MOC's for inspiration. Stay safe and see you soon Quote

Kolonialbeamter Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Your amazing creations surely have inspired a lot of people here, but your influence exceeds Historica's borders by far! The entire Eurobricks community is loosing one of its best builders. I too, can only hope this is temporary. Thank you for years of excellence! Take care, especially since all of you in neutral Switzerland have guns under your beds... Oh, wait, that's a reason for the rest of the world to be afraid! 'Cause it is as a wise man once said 'With enemies you know where they stand but with neutrals? Who knows!' The world should live in fear... Farewell! Quote
Thomas of Tortuga Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 From leading Enalica, way back in Lands of Mythron on MOCpages, to wowing the GOH community with your building skills, you've really made an impact in the Lego community. Best of luck to you, Simon. Quote
MKJoshA Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I am glad to have known you and traded Lego heads with you. You will be missed. Best of luck to you and may you go in grace. Quote
Bregir Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) Avalonia is one great builder the poorer for your absence and you will surely be welcomed back, whenever you may return! I will miss your great/fun/fantabulous builds as well as your participation in these forums. As a former professional soldier, my advice is to make the best of your time in the army, regardless of your scepticism as to the concept. If it is anything like the danish army, you will exit it with friends and experiences for life, and with knowing yourself and some of your comrades better than one can imagine. Best of luck - We all hope to see you return one day! PS: I am somewhat confused by the fact that so many are surprised that a neutral country has an army... :) Edited October 23, 2014 by Bregir Quote
