hachiroku Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Hi, I built my definitive version of the starship (after a couple of attemps http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=88799&hl= http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=89549&hl= ) I have presented it to Lego Ideas: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/83171 Quote
xlbro Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I guess it is only me, but the LEGO ideas link is not working Quote
Murdoch17 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I have reconstructed the top of your model (only the dish) in Lego Digital Designer and was inspired to use it for my Nexus Force star ship. My brother and me will be building one each, one with white and orange, and the other in white with red. Your model is very cool, and I look forward to building it soon! Quote
Thomas of Tortuga Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Really nice job on the engine nacelles! Quote
cbdiyuclod Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) My brother and me will be building one each, one with white and orange, and the other in white with red. Edited October 22, 2014 by cbdiyuclod Quote
hachiroku Posted October 22, 2014 Author Posted October 22, 2014 I guess it is only me, but the LEGO ideas link is not working It's awaiting for approval yet. My brother and me will be building one each, one with white and orange, and the other in white with red. If you are going to build one in red/orange, you could build this one: The red one, in the left. Quote
KeepLeft Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Really nice model. I would like to see a Klingon Bird of Prey next. Quote
hachiroku Posted October 22, 2014 Author Posted October 22, 2014 Really nice model. I would like to see a Klingon Bird of Prey next. After building this one, I started a Enterprise C, D and the Reliant, but no one finished. Quote
Ardelon Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Really neat! Looking forward to your other models! Quote
hachiroku Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 Well guys, bad luck: We reviewed your project submission and unfortunately it does not fit the LEGO® Ideas mold; it refers to a brand or licensed property that doesn’t fit the LEGO Group’s standards for appropriate content or themes. While there might not be anything in your project itself that is against our policy, the brand or licensed property your project refers to contains content or themes that we find inappropriate for a potential LEGO product. We’re afraid that LEGO Ideas cannot accept a project submission based on this brand or licensed property. Note that licensed properties related to these topics will not be approved: Politics and political symbols Religious references including symbols, buildings, or people Sex, drugs, or smoking Alcohol in any present day situation Swearing Death, killing, blood, terrorism, or torture First-person shooter video games Warfare or war vehicles in any modern or present-day situation Racism, bullying, or cruelty to real life animals Our team decides how a brand or license fits these standards at our sole discretion. If possible, you are welcome to remove the inappropriate brand or license property and submit your project again. To make the process easier, please see the Acceptable Project Content section of the Project Guidelines and House Rules. If you’re not able to remove the inappropriate brand or license from your project, you can still share your creation with the world on a photo sharing site like Flickr or on our own social bookmarking site, ReBrick. Only Sinner Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I love the design of this ship, it looks so clean with all the snot. What I don't understand is why TLG thinks this would violate their guidelines. (religion, sex, violence) Maybe it's only because another company has the ST license. Quote
Ardelon Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 As a Trek fan (not sure if I qualify as a Trekkie) I find this ridiculous; I would say Star Trek is way more kid-friendly that Star Wars. If it was due to another company having the Trek license, I would assume the Ideas people would say as much, so I have no idea what the heck this is about... Quote

I guess it's about Kre-O They made ST sets. Specifically, this "thing". Quote
KeepLeft Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Personally I think Star Trek (specifically TOS) was more about solving problems and the spread of humanity, compared to Star Wars which is basically warfare set in space. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Very nice model ....I like how you've build the main dish! Quote
hachiroku Posted November 21, 2014 Author Posted November 21, 2014 I built a Millennium Falcon with this technique: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102647 Quote
Gryphon Ink Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 I'm sure the rejection from Lego Ideas was due to licensing issues and not thematic objections. Unfortunately Hasbro would almost certainly defend their license with every bit of their legal firepower. And although it's never been declared officially, I suspect that TLG's Star Wars license comes with a "No Trek" clause forbidding thwm to pursue a license with Star Wars' biggest rival franchise. The MOC itself is very pretty, definitely more elegant than the Kre-O version. It bothers me a tiny bit to see those cheese slopes sticking out along the front arc of the saucer, but I know how hard it is to do the saucer right at this scale, and this version is as good as any I've seen. Keep on Trekking! Quote
Faefrost Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 It means Hasbro's ST. license is still in effect and has not expired yet. Even if they are not currently exercising it with a release of product. Remember most licenses are written and put in effect such that they typically have about a full year at each end of the planned product release schedule.,so the license will be in effect for almost a year before we see any product (this is what caused the failure of the Modular Western town) and the licensee wants a full year to sell their product and keep it exclusively on retail shelves after they do their last production run. Colossus Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Lego's response looks like a standard rejection letter. I imagine with all the sets submitted and subsequently rejected, not everyone gets an individualized response. But, as someone already posted, Hasblo has the Star Trek toy license, soooo... Quote
Jared Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Nice use of the hinge for the warp nacelles!! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Good! A nice and affordable version of the USS Enterprise. Quote
Chills Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Very cool MOC. I like the clean lines and your SNOT use. It looks like it's on scale with the UCS Star Destroyer.... maybe a space battle is in order. Quote
bjj8383 Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I just today saw some other tiny-scale Trek ships, I might just have to build a fleet. Quote
