bungeshea Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 This set looks amazing. I love the custom figs, and the ruins just look absolutely superb. I especially like the modular system. Quote
Disco86 Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 (edited) Thanks for all your nice comments ! And special thanks to all the supporters so far, we are nearly reaching 1.000 Edited December 8, 2014 by Disco86 Quote
Cara Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I really like the way this is modular. I was wondering why in the main picture the arch looked so fragile and there was no plate holding the two sides across the top. Now I see why! Nice play feature. Quote
Gondorfan Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Great MOC, If only Lego had a Gondor themed set. Quote
Wout Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Very good! I liked the stairs and the dome also very much. Quote
TuftedDuck Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Great looking set. Definitely a missing set in terms of content and could easily pass as an official. Supported! Quote
heartofdavy Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I like how you made the display box. Quote
Eru Magnus Valar Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 (edited) @Disco86 I absolutely love this set! If it will ever become a real set, I will definitely buy multiple copies of it (at least two, though I would love to buy more). I adore the minifigures, especially the rangers and soldiers from Gondor, but also the Orcs. It would have been nice if one of the Orcs would have been new and different from the generic ones that already exist. A new face, torso, leg print, and perhaps even a new ABS skin colour, but even so, you can never have enough vile villainous Orcs. The only thing which bothers me a little is the price point; at € 99,99 it is overpriced. But then LOTR Lego sets at Lego's suggested retail price are always too expensive. Though that has not stopped me from buying all LOTR/Hobbit sets which TLG released. I already supported your Lego Idea a while back but kind of forgot about it. I am supporting so many LOTR projects on Ideas, at least all those that look good, fortunately there are plenty of those. So when I just logged in at the Lego Ideas site and saw that you still have 323 days left and already 1070 supporters, there is a good change you will gather 10.000 supporters. I hope TLG will notice your project like so many other great LOTR projects, and produce more sets, either as Lego Ideas sets that get 10.000 votes or that TLG will design other sets themselves. I am so disappointed TLG is probably not going to release more waves of LOTR Lego. LOTR and The Hobbit Lego are my all time favourite Lego themes. Good luck with your project, I hope you will gain 10.000 supporters, and of course more important that TLG will actually take your idea into production. ps. Noob question! What exactly does MEC stand for? MOC = my own creation, I am not familiar with this acronym: MEC. Anyone know the answer to this? Thank you in advance. richchie Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 hope that this will have 10 000 votes on lego cusoo. you have my Word that i will buy it (but price in EUR higher than in dollars?) Quote
Bobbtom Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) Now this is a set that could have gotten better sales than The Goblin king or The Black Gate. It's been shown that consumers aren't interested in character focused sets hence the poor sales of most Middle Earth sets. There is no way that set would be $100. Because it has no real special elements like a Cave troll, it would be $60-70 depending on how many new molds it would use. If Lego made molds for gondor helmets, this set would be $70. With a few tweaks to the design to make it look more like a city, castle consumers would buy this instantly. The play features are better than those of many LOTR sets like the black gate whose's only major features are opening gates. one catapult and another gate(hidden switch).
