Bob Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Another amazing Def game! It's always great to welcome new blood into Eurobricks Mafia. You've never seen "no double-posting" anywhere? That rule is on almost every internet forum. It's not always in the rules, but it's enforced when it happens. Double-posting is generally frowned upon on the rest of the board, but it's generally allowed in the Mafia and Role Play section. I've never seen a moderator crack down on a user for double posting. The forum also automatically combines your posts if they're posted within twenty minutes of each other.
jimmynick Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I'm really sorry I didn't post on the Deadboard. Somehow the little red square PM notification didn't display for your message, and I haven't had a reason to open my PM folder otherwise, so I wasn't aware of the Deadboard even existing until now. I agree that my voting was too much on the bandwagon. I was more afraid to vote for someone else and be wrong, than I was of going along with the crowd. Yet another lesson that I've learned. Thank you very much for hosting me. A good townie is not afraid to be wrong! It's the townie that doesn't want to be wrong who sheepishly sheeps and doesn't help the town. I think you could have done it a lot better. Put up a much better fight on the day one lynch. Doctor is an overrated role, since it is usually effective only once per game, but claiming it with two hours left on the clock wasn't the best thing to do. I was a little disappointed that a vet played that way. N/A I'm surprised you said all that then gave me N/A rather than Fail - I totally accept that I did a miserable job of Day One, and that it was probably more my attitude than the bandwagon that did me in.
mostlytechnic Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I think the n/a was because you're not needing to pass a school, so there's no grade given. Ditto for me.
def Posted October 31, 2014 Author Posted October 31, 2014 Another amazing Def game! Honestly, this was the worst looking, worst written of any game I've done, and I appreciate that the players were able to have a good time regardless. I threw it together quickly with no plan when the hosting went up... But, based on experience, I was able to construct a passable narrative. Luckily, mafia is founded on play, not on graphics (though I'm still baffled why I was able to produce A+ graphics on day three, but not on day two or four). Thing is, the mafia games here have been in a lull recently, so I want to help keep them up, and this game was one, and I'll host again soon if need be. The game rules are the main thing, not the story, the graphics, or the wacky rules (though those help). I think the n/a was because you're not needing to pass a school, so there's no grade given. Ditto for me. Yeah, I should have been consistent there. Anyone I remembered from the last two games had an auto-pass, so James, Jluck, Mostly, Dave, Mencot, and Adventurer were all N/A. You all passed!
fhomess Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I didn't follow this one closely all though I did check in regularly. I was super impressed with the Vig (Settle?) nailing so many scum. It was also great to see the teams going at it and some of the newer folks did quite well. The game rules are the main thing, not the story, the graphics, or the wacky rules (though those help). It's appreciated. There is quite a bit of work that goes into making a good game. I think Mafia games are incredibly fun, but I'm also aware of why it goes through cycles of popularity and due to the time commitment choose my games carefully. This game is a great reminder that simple setups can be every bit as fun and challenging as games with funky rules or a twist.
jluck Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Hey everyone, I'm hoping this will show up on your "my content" page so that's why I'm posting here. A new mafia game has just been added so if you completed mafia school with a passing grade, join up and hone those skills! Here's the link: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=103236&hl= The host is great and his games are always fun, so hurry before it fills up!
Chro Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Hey guys. I've been on EB for a while but haven't played any Mafia, although I play frequently off of EB. I was interested to see a new Mafia game opening here, but I from what I gather, "Mafia school" is a prerequisite for participating in that. Now that this game is done, will there be a new school game at some point in the near future?

Lind Whisperer Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 There's one going to start soon, you could sign-up here. Hope this helps. Party Lines is a regular game, not a School.
Chro Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 (edited) So passing a school game is indeed mandatory before one is allowed to sign up for a regular game? Edited December 15, 2014 by Chro
Brickelodeon Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Yes, it says so in the rules. "You will need to pass a Mafia School game before you can sign up for the more advanced games."
def Posted December 15, 2014 Author Posted December 15, 2014 As much as we'd love to trust you can play, there have been a lot of problems with new players, plus EB mafia rules are a bit different than other sites, so playing a school game is a stipulation to playing full games.
Chro Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Alright, I understand that. I suppose I can wait it out for the next school game.
jluck Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Last chance to sign up for the new game! Roles are being sent out and the game starts Friday likely!
