July 15, 200717 yr Author The mountain fort version 2.0 (46 + 6 minifigs) Front view. A dozen infantrymen and some officers. The side of the fort you don't want to be on. *sweet* Lookout tower. Bird's eye view. The corner of the baseplate was slightly bent during transport (ordered it from BrickLink). Entrance. Notice the pirate torso I used for the artillery/supply soldier in the lower left. Inside shots. The six fine gents pertaining to the opposing faction. Whatever that may be. I like it how the color scheme and headgear are completely different to the ones found in my larger army. (Inspired by the "Tabnerian Rifles" on MOCpages) @ZeekyBoogeyDoog: Shakos?! :-P A complete minifig (legs assembly, cavalry torso assembly, head, kepi, bandana and gun) is probably cheaper than a single shako.
July 15, 200717 yr Very great improvements, those lookout towers fit pretty fine, and that interior is very nice too! And those mysterious enemies.... very neat and interesting. *y*
July 15, 200717 yr @ZeekyBoogeyDoog: Shakos?! tong.gif A complete minifig (legs assembly, cavalry torso assembly, head, kepi, bandana and gun) is probably cheaper than a single shako. My suggestion, of course, was meant in a faery tale land of fantasy where shakos fall from trees :-D I really like the current design of the fort; the towers really add to the overall appearance. The back view is quite imposing *y* I like the interiors, especially the table. The opposing faction figs are great. They remind of late 19th century British soldiers.
July 15, 200717 yr You certainly have improved your fort. The rooms inside look great. The table I especially like. *y* I never realized it but I built some Tabnerian Rifles of my own. But they've just been myh professional troops.
July 27, 200717 yr Nice additions. I have a few suggestions though. First, you should mkae it bigger so that all of your troops can fit in it to fight and you should also add more guns. Second, try to expand the opposing army so you can make a diorama with a battle going on. Other than that, great fort.
July 28, 200717 yr Author Thanks for the opinions and suggestions. I've just acquired 10 more western soldiers (plus weapons, horses and such) and 15 soldiers pertaining to the other faction, the latter were cheap as hell at a particular BL store. Just couldn't resist. :-$ I also got some castle helmets with angled cheek protection that should make for some fancy cuirassiers. A US army, rather not. More like a pot-pourri of my favorite LEGO uniforms and weapons.
July 28, 200717 yr Nice Army your building there. The Union and Cavalry minifigs are perhaps my favorites, so I love seeing pictures of armies made of them. I'm not big on using tricorns over the cowboys hats. It definately looks like an early 1900 army. If that is the look, than you might want to use brown muskets and flintlock pistols than the gray revolvers. Nice forts. It looks like your ready to give us some Moc Battle pictures. :-D
July 31, 200717 yr I kind of stole your idea for an artillery gunner, but instead I used the same torso, and red pirate bandana, and red pants with the black waist part. They look like soldiers from one of the special brigades (can't think of the name) during the civil war fighting for the Union. Using seperate figures for artillery creates a kind of distinction and makes it so you can have more soldiers even if you don't have more Union Blue torsos.
August 1, 200717 yr Author They look like soldiers from one of the special brigades (can't think of the name) during the civil war fighting for the Union. Zouaves. ;-) Edited September 20, 200717 yr by Hussar
September 20, 200717 yr Author Here's the final update.. I might try to reach the hundred mark next year, but for now I'm going to work on MOCs. The entire army, comprising 70 men. High-ranking officers. Captains and lieutenants. PFCs. Artillery (3 cannons). And some photos with a different background. The entire army again. Mounted infantry. 15 privates and their drill sergeant. Cavalry.
September 22, 200717 yr Very nice *y* *y* . The backpacks look great on the Western figs. The mounted infantry and hussar-like calvary are my favorites.
October 23, 200717 yr Wow. Impressive army you got there *turns around* no guys I'm just pretending.Don't worry.Ok.Next week, yeah. where was I...oh,nice army, must've cost a fair bit.Quite a bit bigger than my own..group. Edited October 23, 200717 yr by goggleson
January 18, 200817 yr good idea about using the tricorner and bicorner hats instead of the cowboy hats they stink :-X but i really love your fort *wub* i mean its alittle small but that doesn't really matter i really love the little watch post out front great adition *y*
January 19, 200817 yr Your army is really growing. I'm interested in making a unit of troops like yours. What would be an estimate on how much it would cost to gets 6 soldiers? I kind of stole your idea for an artillery gunner, but instead I used the same torso, and red pirate bandana, and red pants with the black waist part. They look like soldiers from one of the special brigades (can't think of the name) during the civil war fighting for the Union. Zouaves. ;-) How did you know what the uniform looked like but not the name of the troops.
January 20, 200817 yr Your army is looking great! Very impressive indeed! I look forward to seeing some of your MOCs, and your army if it reaches the 100 milestone! ~Peace
