Paul Boratko Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Correction, there are 8 of them.. I forgot the 2 that give the angle in the front grill... Quote
Kronos Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I just finished the last one! Awesome car! Nice open, clean look. Can't wait to build this. Quote
AndyCW Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I love the look. It reminds me of a Morgan Aero Eight minus the cross eyed look. v/r Andy Quote
Boxerlego Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Wow! The red hot rod with the V8 engine looks awesome. That V8 engine does look good in this picture. Cant wait to see it motorized. The new 4 speed transmission sounds very interesting. ONE BY ONE.... Quote
efferman Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Looks like a morgan aero 8 on anabolics Quote
Paul Boratko Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) Red is becoming the new yellow, someone needs to try to make a car in silver or orange and black instead of a plan white,red,black...etc. I don't think red is "becoming" the new yellow.... Red has always been the most popular color for cars considering every part and panel is made in red.. The red color and part variety goes clear back to 1999 with the 8448.. I recently did one car in all white which was pretty challenging to do.. How many people have done Technic cars of that scale in all white..? If it was so commonly done, there should be many examples... As far as these other colors like silver goes, you can't work with what you haven't got... Edited November 7, 2014 by Paul Boratko Quote
sm 01 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) Great work Paul! I like your idea to make it light-weight and can't wait to see performance of the motorized version. Would you be so kind to share more details, what can we expect? SBrick, Buggy motor/s perhaps... My imagination is going all over the place now. Edited November 7, 2014 by sm 01 Quote

Yes but there in my opinion is the reason that I find a red sports car not very interesting, unless it has some cool and uncommon functions. You can build a car out of the mclaren F1,Nathanaël Kuipers did it so you can too. Quote
Meatman Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I don't know about Paul's preference, but I don't know how anyone could go back to those old ugly panels now that we have an abundance of new smooth ones. Quote
jantjeuh Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Actually I like those old-style panels with holes in it Quote
Polo-Freak Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) Somebody the instruction for this? or Cad File? Edited November 7, 2014 by Polo-Freak Quote
Osuharding1 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Perhaps I haven't been building Technic long enough but it seems very difficult to build in yellow as well... as such I don't understand the comment about red becoming the new yellow... in fact, I tried (and somewhat succeeded) to build Paul's Lamborghini Gallardo in all yellow and I had to substitute a few parts with tan or black. The only other supercar I have seen in all yellow is Jurgen's Sunbeam Corvette. Are there others I just don't know about? Quote

You can build a car out of the mclaren F1,Nathanaël Kuipers did it so you can too. No way! Lego made silver panels and silver tubing??? I had no idea... In all seriosuness though, I am trying to evolve as a builder with what is current, not parts that I worked with 10 years ago... I think you were fully aware of what I meant when I said "you can't work with what you haven't got" Every new model that I build brings something new to the table than the previous one... If you fail to recognize this or don't find it interesting, then that is your choice... I am sure that there may be some other people out there who have built my models that don't share your opinion... Somebody the instruction for this? or Cad File? http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=35456 I don't know about Paul's preference, but I don't know how anyone could go back to those old ugly panels now that we have an abundance of new smooth ones. My preference is to move forward, not backwards... Quote
