cesbrick Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Awesome roof and tower! The colour scheme is great! Congratulations on one more great MOC! Quote
Slegengr Posted November 10, 2014 Author Posted November 10, 2014 (edited) Wow, that is alot of robot arms! Great build, and lovely story too! Thanks, Jorrith! Many a poor droid will now walk undefended versus those evil Jedi Cool roofing for a great build Thanks, Tomsche! I am not sure how Mitgardians discovered the galazy far, far away from long, long ago, but somehow a raid was made on the Geonosis droid factories... . The roof is crazy. Thanks, vitreolum! Great build and story :) can't get over how great that roof is though! Thanks, lenjoyLego! The roof was the inspiring portion of this build, and I like the results as well. That roof is crazy cool. The stonework is nice too! Thanks, Carson! I appreciate the compliment! The roof was my own idea, but I was inspired by many other builders for the stonework. Holy moly! That roof looks amazing! The wall looks cool too! Thanks for the compliment, Alfadas! Fantastic tower, I love the roof, and the stonework looks great too! :) Thanks, LordDan! OMG so many droid arms! That is one of the best roofs I ever saw! Amazing! Thanks, Zblj! I never realized before that I had a fascination with roof techniques, but my last three builds were centered on roof techniques. Great roof! And cool wall technique on the tower! Thanks, Lord Vladivus! Great roofing technique! I wish I had all those droid arms. Thanks, BrickCurve! I got them on Bricklink in bulk. This used about half of my supply of arms other than the tan ones on my SW battle droid army. Did you find a good BrickLink deal on droid arms somewhere or something? That's a seriously impressive technique using the string with hand-holds to hold the arms. The brick work is executed well too. I do think Stien's legs could have been a different color so they popped out more. Thanks, mrcp6d! Yes, I got about 200-300 of dark tan, dark brown, and dark orange from BrickLink. I appreciate the compliments! I did try some other colors for Stian's legs, but I decided that I wanted to show it was my sigfig and that it was more realistic if the legs did not stand out too much. From the right angles, the legs showed well enough to satisfy me, and I really did not like the contrast when I tried green legs and blue legs. I appreciate the feedback! Very original build. Really what I like to see in a build! Great technique with those droid arms for the roof and nice curved rockwork as well! Thanks, Mike S! I am glad you like my techniques. I like to try new ideas instead of directly copying what others have already built, and I was satisfied with the results of the roof technique. That roof is insane! I love it. Fabulous walls too. Superb build! Thanks, robuko! I really appreciate the compliment, especially since I have taken inspiration for my builds from many of your MOCs. I agree, it mast be almost one kilogram... It is about 200 of each color... I highly doubt it is anywhere near one kilogram in mass. But, yeah, it is still a lot! BrickLink is great for MOCing! The roof is just spectacular! The build as a whole is brilliant! Thanks, Vasko! This is insane, man! Great work! Thanks, Graham! This build is great! That roof is just mind blowing! Thanks, Jakorin! The roof was my favorite part in the build, though it got frustrating at times when the droid arms did not line up right due to the twist in the string . I spent about 1 hour just making the string of arms! I dropped the chain a number of times and, due to the outside arms in each group of 3 being only half-clipped on due to the width of the bars on the string, had to find which group was missing arms and replace them. I am definitely pleased with the results, though! Wow! Amazing roof and stonework! Great foliage, and that arsenal looks pretty menacing. The armoruy is a nice touch. Awesome/Fantastic/Superb Work! Thanks, ManInATopHat! I appreciate the compliments! That's an epic thatched roof. Really great job. Thanks for the compliment, Thomas of Tortuga! um wow, i love the brick work and roof. Thanks, Jody Meyer! Love this! Nice use of circular plates for the stones. Thanks, Mr. Greeble! Nice build! But even more, I like the story of it. All together, this build is a very strong entry! Thanks, mephistopheles! I am glad you like the story as well as the build. This build is absolutely great. Took me a while to find the spy.. which is a testimony to his skill in subterfuge. Thanks, Hobbythom! I originally considered leaving the spy hidden and not telling in the story where he was hiding, but I guess I like to explain things in too much detail to leave it untold . I am glad you like it! This is a great take on a very common castle build (tower). I love the way you got the spy in there. Top knotch. Thanks, mccoyed! I appreciate the compliments! Awesome roof and tower! The colour scheme is great! Congratulations on one more great MOC! Thanks, cesbrick! I am inspired to continue to build even better when I receive such comments from a builder who has inspired me so much already! Wow, I have never yet received so much astounding feedback this quickly on a MOC! This community is fantastic! Edited November 10, 2014 by Slegengr Quote
TheUtilityBelt Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 You are a genius with that roof idea! The stonework is cool and so is the story. Quote
Hammerhand Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Whoa, crazy cool build here! That roof is totally awesome, and the wall texture with all the different tiles looks superb. Nice job with the supports too! Quote
Slegengr Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 You are a genius with that roof idea! The stonework is cool and so is the story. Thanks, UtilityBelt! I have been harboring the roof idea in my head for some time now, and am glad I finally built it to satisfying results. Whoa, crazy cool build here! That roof is totally awesome, and the wall texture with all the different tiles looks superb. Nice job with the supports too! Thanks, Hammerhand! I appreciate the compliments. You are the first to comment on the supports; I am glad someone noticed. Extraordinaire! Thanks, Gunman! Without inspiration from your MOCs, my building techniques would not have improved as much as they have. I appreciate the compliment! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 The whole tower looks magnificent And that roof is definitely amazing, super clever to use a rope to attach the droid arms Glad to have you on the Men's side Quote

Captain Braunsfeld Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 they have all said it, but I need to join in: The roof is great. How cumbersome to put together all these arms. Walls and round design of tower are also excellent! Quote

Walls and round design of tower are also excellent! Thanks, Captain Braunsfeld! The roof was indeed cumbersome, but anything worth doing is worth doing right, no matter how hard. You should check out the frontpage once in a while Thank you very much, Ecclesiastes! I am honored that I have received a frontpage position already! My efforts and perseverance through frustration paid off in the roofing technique. I usually check the frontpage very first in the morning, but I usually do not have internet access over the weekend and by Monday morning, my position was bumped down by the Toa post by VBBN. I noticed my build on the frontpage later that day (after my response post), was stunned for a few seconds , then realized right away why I had so many responses . Again, thanks for the honor of a frontpage position! I am glad to be a member of GoH and the great guild of Mitgardia! Edited November 13, 2014 by Slegengr Quote

MassEditor Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Wow, a jaw-dropping build for sure! This build has such a lovely composition of color and form, one of my recent favorites for sure! Ingenious use of those robot arms, looks like it could have been a frustrating task! The story is great too. Like Mccoyed said, top notch! Quote

SarahJoy Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Phenomenal roof, and great build overall. I love the spy's head peeking through. Good thing the dwarves didn't bother to look above them! Quote
Gideon Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Great build overall and as with so many others the roof is what really stood out for me here Keep up the good work! Quote
Slegengr Posted December 19, 2014 Author Posted December 19, 2014 Phenomenal roof, and great build overall. I love the spy's head peeking through. Good thing the dwarves didn't bother to look above them! Thanks, SarahJoy! I was going to bury the head in the thatching more so it was not so visible, then I decided that I wanted it to appear obviously in the pictures. I was also struggling with trying methods, as I had to reach around underneath the roof and had nothing stable to push against. This was the first solution that worked satisfactorily after reattaching segments of the roof multiple times . Great build overall and as with so many others the roof is what really stood out for me here Keep up the good work! Thanks for the compliment and encouragement, Gideon! Quote
truebricklove Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Wow! That roof is so intricate! Good thing Stian didn't fall through it while the dwarves were there! Quote
Spader Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Very nice! the roof looks great, and the stonework looks good as well! Quote
