leongsteven Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Link to the LDD file here https://www.dropbox....ructed.lxf?dl=0 Its mostly exterior design but hopefully it might help you. No offence. This really look almost like Cavegod's AT-AT. Quote
All in the Reflexes Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 None taken, in my original thread i gave props to Cavegod and explained my idea was to make an AT-AT as impressive as his but slightly smaller so the piece count wasnt going to cost the same as the expenditure of a small country Quote
Schneeds Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 The more I look at your schematic, the more I am tempted to try and build it. Cavegod's has always been a bit ambitious for me, but 4k pieces is doable. In terms of your design, do you think the 8 2x2 connection points to the undercarriage is enough to support the weight of that cockpit being that far forward? Quote
All in the Reflexes Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Probably not but i was planning on beefing up the connections anyway, the plan was to get as much external detail as possible till i was happy then work on the internals, i just never got time to finish it. Feel free to work on the design, it would be fantastic to see it built Quote
La Chupacabra Posted December 5, 2014 Author Posted December 5, 2014 (edited) No offence boys but, remember that is my topic and my AT-AT Edited December 5, 2014 by La Chupacabra Quote
Robianco Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 No offence boys but, remember that is my topic and my AT-AT And a splendid AT-AT it's sure to be! ;) Quote
La Chupacabra Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 (edited) Im still waiting for parts from BL, meanwhile updated movable head (thanks to All in Reflexes). Im also working on side plates of head amour to avoid use of turntables. Edited December 8, 2014 by La Chupacabra Quote

Captain Braunsfeld Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Foot in progress: I am seeing a large grey monster with two eyes, mouth open wide.... AT-AT will be great when it is done! Good luck! Quote
gavralcraw Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 (edited) manamana... I'm not a picky about feet normally, but I think I prefer cavegods feet - http://gimmelego.blo...s-all-over.html I guess cause these are the snowspeeder stomping bit of the behemoth we get the clostest look at... looking great though. I'm envious! Edited December 10, 2014 by gavralcraw Quote
La Chupacabra Posted December 11, 2014 Author Posted December 11, 2014 (edited) It stands!! Edited December 11, 2014 by La Chupacabra Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Ok, fine! (Now I don't see gray monsters anymore). Why don't they fall over? Quote
La Chupacabra Posted December 11, 2014 Author Posted December 11, 2014 No!They should stand still Quote
sigpro Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 A small piece of advice. Your AT AT will be very heavy, as you are using bricks for the outside. If you want the legs to be poseable, or, at least, be sure that your AT AT will not fall frontwards or rearwards, I suggest putting double hinges in all the leg joints. My lighter AT AT suffered a catastrophic accident because the "shoulders" (the joints which were in the top of the front legs) were not able to withstand a push from behind and the vehicle collapsed. Exactly like in Episode V where an AT AT is shot down by a Snowspeeder... Best regards. Quote
La Chupacabra Posted December 26, 2014 Author Posted December 26, 2014 (edited) Thanks for your advice. It is hard to add another hinge - in that case leg or hip would have to be thicker. Im considering also non movable version... After New Year i will post some photos of four legs. Now i have finished two legs and two another are half build. gavralcraw Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/index.php?/topic/42508-at-at/ This is a mildly different take as well... Quote
La Chupacabra Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) I have seen this version. It is bigger then mine and similar to cavegod's. Edited December 29, 2014 by La Chupacabra Quote
La Chupacabra Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 In next week i will post some photos of 100% finished four legs. La Chupacabra Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) Empire is enlisting but still one crew member is missing : Tree legs (im waiting for missing parts for four leg): Also i have idea for new foots (similar to cavegod version). I have two hips and next two are missing parts so Im waiting again Edited January 13, 2015 by La Chupacabra Quote
La Chupacabra Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) Hips and drive motor: They are quite stable. Im building head right now but again i have some missing parts Edited January 16, 2015 by La Chupacabra Quote
La Chupacabra Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 (edited) Head completed in about 60%: Edited January 17, 2015 by La Chupacabra Quote
Punisher16 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Amazing job "La Chupacabra"... You are making one of the best minifig scale AT-AT I have seen! Quote
Outworlder Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 this is gonna look great when its finished... im thinking about building one too because i believe Lego wont release UCS AT-AT anytime in the near future. And if they do i think it will come out looking like the Sandcrawler which i did not like. Way too many studs. Quote
