Are we allowed to discuss Brickarms here? Or is that like...swearing? I decided I wanted to give all the Western rifles and pistols back to my Western sets, so I had to strip my Police force and issue them with sub-machine guns instead. The quality is amazing - hard to believe it's not real LEGO.

Swearing? I think their stuff is great! It's a little pricey though, so I don't have any, I prefer BrickForge stuff anyway :-D

They do have one or two guns that I'd be interested in, however I never have any cash to spare :'-(

I do like BrickForge as well. He is friends with the guy at BrickArms. I got a free sample of brickArms stuff at BrickWorld. It's pretty great. The guy who runs BrickForge is a member here at EB.

Oooh, nice. You mean Armothe or Redbean? Redbean was the one who really started it I believe, and he merged with Armothe awhile back. Their stuff is absolutely top notch, and I can't wait to see their upcoming chrome products 8-

Cool, I just wasn't sure if we only had to discuss "pure" LEGO. :-D

BrickArms also make custom Minifigs - I ordered one of their WWII German soldiers, he's really nice, I think I might get some more when I order up some new guns.

I think if you said "I love M$g%Bl@ks" that would be swearing. I have considered buying from them, but as Starwars4J says, they are not exactly cheap. I would love the Alien machine gun though.

Trust me - I would never utter...that word...here. My two-year old son was given some of that...stuff...by a misguided relative last Christmas and I won't have it near me, it brings me out in a rash. :-X

Talking of the Aliens machine gun - they do a Colonial Marine MF too - the gun is sweet, but my favourite is probably the MP5 or the .44 Magnum.

That's a good point. I'm definitely brand loyal. The whole of EB seems to feel the same way and have general disdain for thieves or imitation brands, although some do reviews of said sets. But, AFOL-created accessories are a different story. That for some reason is completely permissible.

I think it's because they are still promoting the LEGO brand as they are mostly made for LEGO mini-figs and promote the sale thereof. If they were MFOL (Megabloks Fans of LE...wait) AFOM (Adult Fans of Megabloks) *wacko* making custom accessories just for megablok figure, then maybe it'd be like swearing. Or maybe that's what hell is actually like...

Nah, hell involves a mountain of Lego...

2 2x2 plates stuck together. No brick separators, and your fingers already hurt.

Easy. Stack them up into one huge column. Then begin to rip of one-plate-thick chunks with your teeth like you would a candy bar.

If you mark them up you need to start over :-X

Will is a great guy (met him twice) and his stuff is fantastic. I attended presentations at NWBC'06 and BF'07 and his passion for quality control means the accessories he manufactures are amazing.

I love BrickArms and have nothing to say about them except praises. Well made and designed stuff. Everything's a little pricey but not ridiculous. I've only ever ordered from him once, but he made a really good impression on me. He was even nice enough to throw in a few extra "bonus" weapons.

Sigh. Was their a point in Necro-ing this thread by two years? Anyway, to add a point, I really wish that I could afford Brickarms, but as it is the 40k hobby is consuming my money.

All I can say is... THANK GOD FOR THIS GREAT COMPANY!!! :sing: BrickArms is the best company other than BrickForge. Their weapons are huge. But that's where I get my helmets.

Really? Bumping this by two years? :sceptic:

Oh well, while I'm here, I guess I should make a testimonial, no?

Well, I've ordered from BA about five times, and all times everything was satisfactory. The weapons are extremely high quality and not something you would expect from little tiny pieces. :classic: My favorite weapon would probably be the M1A1 Thompson by far, I'm a WWII guy. :sweet:

I love BrickArms in some ways they are better then brickforge, but mostly brickforge is better because they have a bigger range of products and all brickarms has are about 30 guns and like 5 accessories and thats all. I truly think they sould put the M1 Helmets back on sale.

This should really be moved to the MCW.

You really ought to visit the Brickarms Forums before making statements like that. The m1 was a Clone Brand piece, never roduced by the company. Will's supplkier ran out, hence he had to stop selling them. You should also see that its not quite 30 guns and 5 accessories Will has in store for us.

BA is BrickArms. While it's great that you are finding threads to post in rather than starting new ones please be careful when posting in threads that are very old. It's OK to revive a thread with news but just to say you like it can be annoying to some members. BrickArms is being discussed constantly in the Minifig Customization forum, so search there for more in depth discussions. We prefer that you add to the topic discussion instead of posting things like "I like (fill in the blank)."

If you are searching for threads using the search button located in the right hand corner of every page under the banner. Try to search the whole forum to ensure you're finding the right place to post. Please read the Site Guidelines to ensure that you are posting the way we'd like you to in our community. Right now you seem a bit young for an adult fan site, so make sure you're paying attention to how things work. This will help you get along in the future. Thanks.

I'll move this thread to the Minifig Cutomization forum to avoid future confusion.

Thanks for kind words, guys, but as Hinckley said, there are much newer threads that regard BrickArms than this one, and posting in one of those or starting a new one, perhaps sharing a custom fig or two that uses the BrickArms products in your collection, would have been a better bet.

because they have a bigger range of products and all brickarms has are about 30 guns and like 5 accessories and thats all.

A few things to keep in mind:

- BrickArms has only been in operation for a little over three years, while other vendors have been operating for a longer period of time. This obviously means they've had more time to produce more accessories. However, as BrickArms continues to expand, you can look forward to many, many new BrickArms accessories to come.

- Will designs and prototypes all BrickArms accessories himself (aside from the M1 Helmet which I'll discuss below). Designing, prototyping, testing, and then getting community feedback on a new design has been a tremendous way to ensure Will has complete control over the design of a future BrickArms accessory and guide its development in a way that the community will appreciate. For instance, the reworking of the "Buzzgun" concept into a scifi rifle that could have many different accessories attached to it was primarily driven by fan feedback and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

However, the above process can and does take a good deal of time, especially when you're also running an online business and spending much of the day processing orders and making trips to the post office to ensure orders are shipped out and received promptly. Not to mention that Will also needs to attend to the needs of his family! This means that Will often finds it hard to find the time to work on designs, although considering how much he does truly love designing new accessories, he fits in as much as he can.

Brickforge, on the other hand, rather than designing the accessories themselves, submits sketches and/or sculpted clay mock-ups of accessories to a CAD professional who takes those ideas and translates them into the CAD design. This obviously saves them the time and effort of having to design their own accessories but also means they have less control over the final design of the accessory. While it would save Will a lot of time to have someone else design BrickArms accessories for him, that would entail giving up a degree of control over their design that he just isn't willing to do.

- Will uses only 100% American production for the milling of production molds and the production of the accessories from those mold. Again, this gives Will a high degree of control over the production and overall quality of BrickArms accessories at the price of higher production costs. Will is very proud of the fact he supports local US businesses, especially in a field where much of the production has gone overseas.

However, using on the highest-quality US production and ABS plastic mean that each mold is a very significant financial investment for Will, and he's only able to produce new molds when BrickArms is in a position when such an investment is right for the company.

Alternatively, like many companies, Brickforge has all their molds produced and injected in Hong Kong. This means their production costs are much, much cheaper, meaning each new mold is much less of a financial investment. The sacrifice is that they are much less directly involved with the production processes.

Ultimately, Will prides himself on the craftsmanship and detail that he puts in all of his products, and by using more expensive production techniques and maintaining production in the United States, he can personally ensure that the quality builders have come to expect from BrickArms is always part of new accessories. The drawback is that this means it can take some time for new production accessories to be added to the line-up. However, if you're willing to be patient, chances are you'll love what Will has in store for the future, and you can definitely expect new and great things from BrickArms in the coming years.

The m1 was a Clone Brand piece, never roduced by the company. Will's supplkier ran out, hence he had to stop selling them.

The above is correct. Some time after BrickArms began selling, Will found a source for the Oxford/Sluban M1 Helmet, and as that piece met Will's extremely high standards for plastic quality, detail, and compatibility, he began selling them on the BrickArms website. Unfortunately, his supplier is no longer able to provide those helmets, and as such, Will has had to remove them from the BrickArms line-up.

However, Will has considered designing and producing his own custom M1 helmet. The issue is that headgear requires more complicated and much more expensive molds to produce, not to mention the fact that designing headgear is something new to Will. Still, adding an M1 helmet to the BrickArms line-up that's designs and produced by himself is something Will does still hope to do, and should there be any news about it, I'll certainly share it here!

Hope that addresses everything!
