Funny story about the Station. I bought the plans for a guy selling them on eBay. As I was building it, it became obvious that the designer had never built it since it had several structural problems and multiple none-existent bricks. I wrote the designer a nice critique but never heard from him and never saw the plans on eBay again. I guess some cant take a little constructive criticism!

Final after-action on the show.

1. I made my tables too robust. They are 3/4 plywood with 2x4 frames which is over kill and very heavy.

2. I handed out about 50 polys and small sets, mainly #31015 (Emerald Express). This was fun but not necessary. Kids had great fun with the Seek and Find (S&F) without the knowledge of prizes. I did not advertise that I was giving away prizes. I just spaced them out over the 2 day’s time.

3. My gracious wife and a fellow Lego enthusiast helped man the layout which was a good thing since it was always busy.

....etc

This is fantastic help to all that plan to make something similar - there is a lot of knowladge in the Lego loving community, and this is a perfect example how it can come handy

Thank you :)

I just finished up the local 2017 train show. Here's a couple shots of the over-all layout. Not much different from last year. Track design was the same. I move around some building and added more details. There are more shots on my Flickr but I was disappointed with the quality if them.

Glad it was successful and the layout looks great.

For the times you want to give your trains a break consider what has been immensely popular with the kids at our displays. Attach the Duplo Thomas to a 9V engine and have it pull some cars.
