Sandy Posted December 3, 2014 Author Posted December 3, 2014 "I'd like the Opal," remarked Miderun simply, nodding to Annienal after they had ganged up on the last spirit and beaten it senseless. She then strode to the door the witch and Fogfarer had fled to, attempting to force it open without hesitation. Miderun had seen wrong, for the Fogfarer had fled to the direction they came from, presumably back to his house. The building where the witch had disappeared to turned out to be empty, save for an open manhole leading to the sewers on the floor. Quote
Kintobor Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Annienal wipes her sword of etherial goo before putting it away, looking a little more confident in herself. "Well, there's a lot of stuff that Warlen could use, but considering that I want to make this fair I'll take the Emerald. Warlen can take the scrolls and whatever's left over. Miderun can have her opal." Loot Distribution Miderun- Opal Annienal- Emerald Warlen- Ruby, Aquamarine, Scroll of Fire Warding, Scroll of Ice Warding, Scroll of Water Warding, Scroll of Wood Warding "So, um, what do we do now? I'm more than certain we have evidence to prove Fogfarer... um... something. Whether this Barbariccia is trouble or not I don't know, but... she seemed... unnatural. Shall we follow up and head back to Fogfarer's, or shall we head out to someone else's house?" Quote

Whether this Barbariccia is trouble or not I don't know, but... she seemed... unnatural. Shall we follow up and head back to Fogfarer's, or shall we head out to someone else's house?" Miderun pocketed the Opal. "Much as I want to chase down that witch and give her a piece of my mind - and of my axe - we need to head back to Fogfarer's. We're looking for evidence that he's been betraying the Bonapartes." The orc put her hand on her concealed chin in thought. "Mauwalt Scheherazade mentioned an amber-eyed sorceress working with these Wolfgang people. They're rebels, right? Maybe that's enough for Blackgull, but I want to see what the myrkuun got his hands on." Edited December 3, 2014 by CallMePie Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 (edited) "I agree, let's return to the house. It seems too big an unsolved problem to not do so." Warlen turned to face Miderun. "Hey, considering that you won't be able to merge that opal any time soon, can I Borrow it? For now, it would be more useful in my hands. I'll keep it safe." He grinned. "And if it gets lost it stolen, I'll refund you. Gem or cash." Edited December 3, 2014 by The Chosen Minifigure Quote
Sandy Posted December 3, 2014 Author Posted December 3, 2014 Wasting no more time, the party returned to Meliodoul Fogfarer's house and kicked the door open. Inside they found the elf pouring liquid out of the flask the sorceress gave him into a cup and making a young man lying on a bed drink it. "Alwyn, wake up. I got you a new batch. There, drink it all up." "*cough* Thanks... *cough* My love... *cough*" "Now", the Fogfarer turned to the party. "Care to explain what you three are doing? Chasing me down the streets, bursting into my house? Does not sound very heroic to me." What will the party answer? CMP Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 "Fighting the olagrahk pets of angry witches? Sounds heroic enough to me." Miderun looked from the man on the bed, to the bottle, and then back to Fogfarer. The pieces were relatively easy to fit together, and Miderun crossed her arms. "What did that medicine cost you? She didn't look the type to be interested in gold." Quote
Sandy Posted December 4, 2014 Author Posted December 4, 2014 "What did that medicine cost you? She didn't look the type to be interested in gold." "You're right, but I did what I had to for Alwyn's sake. Import of the herb in this medicine are prohibited by the harbormasters, due to it being classified as a poison. It is the only thing that can ease Alwyn's symptoms. But why do you care?" Quote
Kintobor Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Annienal crosses her arms, and speaks to Fogfarer in a more diplomatic tone, hoping to get some answers. She had felt this sense of confidence before in the dream world, but now "You'll h-have to excuse us, Mister Fogfarer for not being honest with you earlier, but we are tracking this Barbarricia woman for our employer. Our employer believes her to be a dangerous woman. Can you please tell us what you paid to get that medicine?" Quote

Our employer believes her to be a dangerous woman. Can you please tell us what you paid to get that medicine?" "I am not part of Wolfgang, if that's what you think. But I..." The elf paused to find the words. "I have provided them with inside information about shipments and other matters. It was the only way they agreed to give me the medicine Alwyn needs. Short of travelling to Kalma Badlands and picking up the herbs myself, I had no choice! Please, do not say a word of this to anyone. Alwyn is dying, there's nothing I can do about that, but without the medicine it will be a long and painful death." The elf sheds a tear as he adjust the sheets over his lover. What would the party do next? Quote
CMP Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 "So you just let them use you. You betrayed your fellows - and this entire city - just to shorten this man's suffering. How many people will die when this Wolfgang attacks one of these shipments? Did you consider that, traitor?" snapped Miderun, her blood boiling. Quote

How many people will die when this Wolfgang attacks one of these shipments? Did you consider that, traitor?" snapped Miderun, her blood boiling. Miderun's words made the elf furious. "What I did I did out of love! But what would an orc know about love, anyway? This city is willing to neglect those in need and only help those in power, and for that it needs to change. The Bonaparte family have stuck their heads into the past, but the Wolfgang promises a better future. They are not pirates, they do not kill sailors for loot! They just do what is necessary, like me." Quote
Kintobor Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Annienal wanted to do something to calm Miderun down, but didn't want to get clubbed in the face by the orc. "Um... I think we'll be going now. Mr. Fogfarer, sorry for any inconvience we've um... caused you... um... we wish you best of luck... um... yeah." Annienal tries to coerce the party out the door, beginning to sweat nervously. Quote

Sandy Posted December 4, 2014 Author Posted December 4, 2014 Warlen ignores the two others, and speaks to the Fogfarer. "Where did you two meet, and what is this sickness?" The Fogfarer was not in the mood to talk anymore. "What is this interrogation about? If you're after the Wolfgang, get your arses back to the Hovels and stop pestering me. I've already told you more than I should have." "Mel?" Alwyn whispered, woken up by the arguing. "Are you... *cough* in trouble? Because of me? *cough*" "Don't you worry about it, everything's just fine. These people were just leaving." The Fogfarer gave the party a meaningful glare. Where would the party head next? Quote

"If crazed witches and two-faced rebels are your idea of the future, you clearly don't have what it takes to help manage Eubric. Orcs understand that you have to put the wellbeing of the many over petty personal issues. You're supposed to be doing what's necessary for Eubric, not yourself. That sarmyr lacked all sense of honor," explained Miderun once they were outside, a bit confused as to her partymates' reactions. "He's sworn to the Bonapartes, he has no excuse for betraying their trust and aiding their enemy. The life of one is insignificant next to the power he's given the Wolfgang. Would either of you stab Heroica in the back?" Quote
Sandy Posted December 5, 2014 Author Posted December 5, 2014 The party made a quick exit out of Fogfarer's house, and next they had to decide whether to visit Captain Hooks Caldera or Captain Geor Bullsworth. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 "No, not that. The way you were talking!" Warlen put on a mock grumpy face. "Demand, shout, grump!" Sandy Posted December 6, 2014 Author Posted December 6, 2014 QM Note: Moving things on... Where shall we go to next? I think Mr. hook for hands should be our next stop." The heroes made their way to the adress that Blackgull had given them. Captain Javier "Hooks" Caldera was supposed to live in a large city house near the Fish Market. Not wanting to waste any more time, Annienal knocked on the door. A half-orc maid creaked the door ajar. Despite her lowered gaze, the heroes could see that the maid was badly bruised. "Good day", the maid said timidly. "I am sorry to inform you that the captain is not home right now. You will have to come back later." Quote
