OOC: Unfortunately, I believe Skrall's attack would have healed the Jun-Chi to maximum health, since his bow is also Fire- and Wind-elemental. :sad:

"Miirym!" Arthur scowls at the willful reptile, but the expression is hidden as usual by his concealing helmet. "Atramor, think you can finish off Chie? I'd like to put Skrall on Bangu next."

Arthur switches to his Clockwork Lance from the Back Row, realizing that a Slow here could mean the difference between life and death for the party.

Skrall slugged down a Grand Potion from the back row before firing off a shot at the remaining Archer from the back row. If the archer was dead, Skrall attacks the Jun-Chi from the back row with his Oversized Greatsword.

"What the hell was this, Shanxian?"

The regulator looked around at the carnage in the Council's chambers.

"So what then? The Tao Brotherhood, all 108 of those Stars. They all died for nothin'? You paid us for the head of their leader, and...here we are, doing exactly what they...doing everything we killed them for tryin' to."

Atramor motioned around with his hand, still clutching the blood-red Pheles Kris tightly.

"It doesn't matter." Atramor used a torn bit of his coat to wrap his bleeding forearm, still weathered from the battle. "You're here to witness the death of an era and the birth of a new one. Make sure it wasn't for nothin' - Lady Ji Pei could put your talents to good use." He looked over at Tanooki. "You're the Spymaster, right? Keep doin' what you're doin'. I don't imagine this change in leadership will go over well with everybody, if ya' get my meanin'."

The regulator turned to Shanxian.

"I take this to mean Legonardo is removin' his inventions, from what I understand it caused a lot of grief to some of the other races in Xu. I doubt ya' need me to tell ya' this, but ya' should inform the Brotherhood of Chi and the kappa of what's happened here. They lost two good men. From what their ambassadors said, the kappa are upset about the pumps and windmills and the Brotherhood needs donations. If ya' could help them out, I'm sure that'd help smooth things over."

"And for what it's worth...I understand why this all happened. A lot of innocent people died here, but...this is about as peaceful as a revolution could get when ya've got that Council involved. I hate to admit it...but this was probably all for the best."

"It looks like I have no choice. Truth be told, I never cared for the blueskins bossing me around - no offense, Lady Ji Pei. Now I'll get to be bossed around by people of varying skin colors. That's something, at least!"

The Weather Mage takes out a blue book out of the pocket of his robe. "This is the t'home I spok'he with you about'h, Sir Dragoon; 'Begone with the Winds'. It'h is yours."

"Hey, wait a minute! If we're giving gifts here, I don't want to be overshadowed!" The spymaster patted his pockets. "Uh, you can have... this! It's an ethertech spyglass. It will detect spies and eavesdroppers in your vicinity if you use it. It apparently reads their mindwaves or something."

The two men gave their gifts to the party before bidding their farewells.

The Tritech Corporation will begin to dismantle the ether pumps and windmills from the regions where they cause disturbance to the nature, but much of Xuese technology is dependent on them. We have to make sure this revolution means going forward, not backwards."

"I am sure Lee will be devastated when he hears about the fate of the revered Guru. He and the Kappa ambassador were unintentional collateral damage, and I wish there would have been time to stop and save them as well, but I really had to rush to the Chamber with the Arkenstone, and I doubt I would have come out of there alive without you, with Guard Captain Raijin putting up such a good fight with the automata. I owe you my life."

"If you have any more questions, let us discuss them on our way back to The Destiny's Bounty. We have changed Xu enough in just one day. It is time to go home."

Arthur quickly uses the Ethertech Spyglass to search for spies and eavesdroppers in the area before passing the device to Skrall, also passing back the two Phoenix Incenses Skrall had loaned him. He takes a quick look through the book the Weather Mage had just given him. Hmm...I wonder... he looks to Miirym, still perched on Lady Shanxian's shoulder with all the arrogant regality as if she had been crowned ruler of Xu instead of the new Council. She's not ready for this, he sighs to himself. She's caught up in the glory of battle, neglecting the spiritual side of her training. Does she even hear me, I wonder? Miirym makes no sign to indicate she was listening to the Dragoon, preening her scaly wings lavishly without any care in the world. Her aloofness was not entirely genuine, however, and she begins to cough and gag when she inadvertently nips a few strands of Shanxian's hair instead of her own wing. Arthur smiles a little. Still a child, he reminds himself, even if Dragons do age differently from us. Still a child...and still unready for battle. He had a choice to make when he got back to the Hall--or, perhaps, when he visited Number 14, Heron Street... Yes. It's time. He pockets the book, calls Miirym--who, thankfully, responds this time--and turns his attention back to the others.

"What, we're not taking the Azure Ark home?" Arthur jokes with a chuckle. "Home does indeed sound like a good idea. You've answered nearly all of my concerns, Lady Shanxian, and for that I am grateful. While perhaps we could have done more to spare the innocent, I think that ultimately our actions here today will prove to be for the best."

"<I would have been happier with more shiny objects. Like an automaton. Or twelve.>"

"Hush, Miirym. Show some humility."

"<'Hush, Miirym.' Is that all you say?>"

"Miirym. We are guardians of the world, not its conquerors. We are pieces in a larger game, not the players commanding the board. Perhaps when we return to Eubric, to the day-to-day life of the city, you will be reminded of how small we actually are."

"Yes. We are. But think for a moment about what that means."

Miirym falls silent for a moment, before spreading her wings and taking to the skies--hopefully, Arthur thinks, just returning to the Bounty on her own. But I will grant her that freedom. She needs the space. He sighs and continues forward with the rest of his party.
