dman122866 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Started in 2011 when I joined my local LUG, my castle is roughly 80,000 pieces and about 8' x 10'. I spent 9 months on the outer & inner curtains and another 3 months adding the rock wall & moat around the outside. I've also recently added the 3 structures inside the inner curtain, the great hall, residence & kitchen. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Incredible scale. I'd like to see more inner workings. You said residence hall and kitchen?? Keep up the impressive work. I had considered doing a large scale castle, but it became too overwhelming for me thinking about the pieces I'd have to order, especially since I have other projects I'm more passionate about. Quote
WarSquirrel Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Wow! Great Job! This is amazingly huge and detailed! And welcome to Eurobricks Quote
Kodan Black Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 That is HUGE! I can't even wrap my head around attempting something on that scale. It looks to be built in sections to move it? Can't even figure how you transport something like that. Any shots of the interior spaces like the kitchen and great hall? Quote
dman122866 Posted November 19, 2014 Author Posted November 19, 2014 Thanks guys! It is indeed modular.. the outer curtain is 16 sections and the inner is 10. Then you have the 3 buildings and some grassy areas for the front of it. To save some money I left the buildings hollow and they wouldn't be visible at shows anyway... maybe in a future upgrade :) Quote
Balbo Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Wow, the scale is really impressive . The details are fantastic! Quote
Fletcher Floyd Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Wow, what a huge castle-Moc -really impressive!! I like it a lot, you did a great job here! Quote
dman122866 Posted May 29, 2018 Author Posted May 29, 2018 Some updates: Updated the railing all around the castle. Also expanded the castle by 2 baseplates in the back, which greatly increased the size of the joust area... also gave me space to place my new Knight's tents and add more of them :) Quote
AmperZand Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 Cool! Really like the sense of Classic Castle that your creation conveys. Quote
Grover Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 Awesome! I think that yours is one of the few double concentric castles out there, and certainly one of the few on this scale. Love it! Quote
InvincibleEagle Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 This gets more and more epic the more angles I see. I envy people who can build like this. Quote
Aine Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Amazing work, I really like the jousting arena! Both beautiful and gigantic! Quote
