Mestari Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 On the opposite here in Poland. PR was expensive but they added yet another 10 euros on top of that for DO. That means I'm not buying it. Not for that price anyway. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 I am hoping Myer have a 20% off sale in Jan and get stock of the DA at the same time. I very doubt Myers will have this in January.....more like David Jones first in oh, say September. Quote
Wookiee Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 I very doubt Myers will have this in January.....more like David Jones first in oh, say September. LOL that is funny as it could be true. I am not sure i came out of my dark ages with the PR bought from Myer around April this year. I am not sure if they had stock in Jan though but they seem to only get a pile of modulars with each sale event and you have to get in on day 1 to buy one. David Jones at Chermside is hopeless and i have never seen a modular there yet. Quote

Ah, but S@H sounds like a better bet and at a better price.......I wonder what the price per part is compared to the other modular releases ? Quote
branolego Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Does anyone know how to build the tank part of the water tower. Ive been trying for days. Cant seem to figure it out. Quote
WhiteFang Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Finally got a chance to watch the video by Jamie, and this is just so awesome! So much stories to tell. Geez, that is very wonderful as it does help to tell many neighbourhood tales. Way to go. Quote
Withacee Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 (edited) Just got mail from Lego that January 5th is double points day for VIPs who also ordered on Brick Friday early access, November 22nd. The mail suggests DA is available on that date. Edited December 12, 2014 by Withacee Quote

The mail suggests DA is available on that date. Great news so far!... -So it will be available first to public or VIPs? -If it it for VIps 1st, then when it will be for public? -What about the Quantities? are they limited for 1st time or open? Thanks Edited December 12, 2014 by VintageLegoEra Quote
Withacee Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 (edited) Well, the mail stated: On Saturday 22nd November, you made a purchase as part of Brick Friday VIP Early Access. We'd like to express our thanks by offering you an exclusive DOUBLE VIP Points day on Monday, 5th January at your LEGO Store, or online at LEGO.com/shop! Your double points will be credited automatically when you make purchases on this day. This exclusive 1-day only offer is reserved ONLY for our special VIP Members that purchased during Brick Friday Early Access on 22nd November. Check out the exciting new January 2015 Exclusives below that will both earn you double points when you shop on 5th January plus hours of building fun! The "exclusives below" were DA and Slave I; no mention of quantity restrictions, but I assume they will be in place, come January. So, no idea if this date will be the same for the public. I'm just getting it on January 5th Edited December 12, 2014 by Withacee Quote
Gongoro73 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 ^Sounds good, but I'm afraid that waiting until 5th January could mean finding that DO is temporarily out of stock. That would be very disappointing. Quote
finnbricker Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 I was planning to combine two DOs, the second one as a mirror image, to make a 16-wide detective's office, a 32-wide barbershop and a 16-wide something. Last night it occured to me what this something will have to be; a meth lab! That will give me the place where to put my Research Institute chemist vignette and I think it goes well with the shady feel of the DO as a whole. Something for the private eye to keep that eye on Quote
Withacee Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 finnbricker, you "crack" me up, man! Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 The building on the left yes, on the right not really......but thanks for trying a expanded DO for us 'satly' ! Quote
Off the wall Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 (edited) Interesting. I may buy three of these to start with. Build one as designed and then take the other two, eliminate the blue side of the building and duplicate what you've done on the left side, add the same on the right side....... to create a full 32 wide brownstone type building that's a full three stories tall. Super Goblin Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 @salty that's exactly what I plan on doing. It looks so much better with the extra floor. Quote
finnbricker Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Looks a lot better and balanced with an extra floor! Maybe I could place my meth lab right above the detective's office. Quote
Moebius118 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 This modular seems to make much more sense to me with an additional floor. I'd probably remove that second set of lights though. Quote
Gongoro73 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 And with three sets you could expand it a little more. Quote
Off the wall Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Thanks, Gongoro73. Makes it even more imperative to get rid of the light blue. I could keep the blue on the first floor, but replace it on floors two through four. Quote
Gongoro73 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 You're welcome, OTW. I guess you're thinking of something closer to this: Quote
Moebius118 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 What manner of sorcery are these images? How? Quote
